Scorpion Cafe

Me and my best friend both went inside to the Starbucks and she ordered first at the register, she paid with card. After that I went to order and the Asian young woman told me that i could not order because this register only takes cash and told me to order at the kiosk. Had no problem then after while I'm ordering I see a young man of a fair tone order something and pay with his card. I am a young black woman and this made me question if I even wanted to Order anymore. This interaction made me very uncomfortable and disappointed in my school for choosing poor staffing.

Salad bar is a GREAT value. I load up my plate and pay around $5. Pizza is a good price too. Skip the chicken strips - they're $5.00 for 3 strips, fries are an add on. The lady said she gave me extra chicken. Good thing she did since the chicken was like popcorn chicken in size and there was less than a handful of fries. They either need to give more food or charge wayyy less.

The staff is always changing--never constant. This means the service often lacks value and customer satisfaction. This isn't including the fact that the food prices are ridiculously high for no practical reason but that it's a campus cafe. Would rather drive 10 minutes to a McDonald's than eat from here.

Having eaten at MANY different college campuses in the past I have to say that Scorpion Cafe is one of the best. It has a lot of selection and the menu changes daily, meaning that I never feel like it's the "same ol' same ol'" when I find myself going there for lunch. More importantly, everything is made fresh and right in front of you (although there are a few ready-made selections if you're in a hurry). And let's not forget that the prices are reasonable! All in all...a great addition to the campus!

If I could do 0 stars I would. I'm a Nevada State student, and I cannot believe how disappointing the café is at this college. they recently switched to some grubhub owned kiosk set up, and the food choices are extremely limited now, and the prices have raised. this café used to be decent with an actually decent food menu. now its just "here are these 3-4 shoddy places that gubhub runs for this campus, oh and the prices have gone up" which is horrible. the menus of the few places we have don't reflect what you actually get in your order, especially with the things like the one build your own breakfast sandwich. its just all the same low quality, plastic tasting pepperoni put on every sandwich that isn't a burger. I wouldn't waste my time with this café if you're a student. the only good part about the scorpion café is the Starbucks attached to it.

This was my first trip to the cafeteria, all I wanted was an omelette. The chef was patiently teaching another chef on the process, letting her step in and learn. I had added the roasted peppers, as the chef had suggested, and was delightfully surprised at the flavor this added. It was delicious! Glad I came in and met these chefs today. I will be back. :)

I was desperate. I know the food here is cruddy. I've had it before. But I had no other choice right now and my stomach is gurgling. I just paid $4.75 for some nasty mac'n'cheese. It's not that this is a rarity. I ate here about 5-6 times last semester as I was meeting classmates here. Every time I was horribly let down by the quality of the food and even more let down by the price for such shoddy food. If it were good, ok, I'll spring for it. I believe I paid $4 for a blah grilled cheese. $4 for something my 9 year old can make at home by himself with 30¢ worth of ingredients. Do what I normally do, eat before coming to class.

Scorpion Cafe at Nevada State College is a wonderful place for breakfast or lunch. Definitely, the most reasonable place to eat in south Henderson. The pizza and salad bar is great, and the daily specials are a real delicious value. Also, if you feel like you cannot live without Starbucks, you can get that too! Yes, NSC has a Starbucks. Next time you are in the Wagon Wheel an 95 area, stop by the Scorpion Cafe!
