TY Rutherford's for providing us with a GREAT first time experience on route 66! TY Yelpers for steering us the right way. We stopped in on our way from Vegas to the GC. After reading reviews I knew what to expect. Hearty food, reasonably priced, great service in a historic spot. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a friendly young man who offered us a seat & the bar or we were asked to wait just a few minutes for a booth. We opted to wait. This place was poppin! But as promised we were seated in less than 5 min. Our booth was clean and had everything we needed ie silverware w napkins and we were given menus by our host. The table had a colorful Route 66 logo on it. Very fitting and it jived well with the rest of the ol' school American diner decor. My hubby ordered the highly recommended Country Fried Steak breakfast and it was just as hearty, tasty and perfectly cooked as the reviews said it would be. I didn't have enough appetite for such a belly full so I had 2 scrambled eggs and coffee. My eggs were served hot as was my coffee. 2 VERY important musts for each am I right? The answer is Yes! Our server was incredibly busy BUT on it! Super friendly, zero mistakes and very accommodating. She was a sweetheart. All in all, this was a great experience and we would definitely stop in again on our way through Kingman.

It's been several years since I was last here, but today I wanted to see if breakfast was still as good as before. Pulling into the parking at about 11:15 on Saturday, I was stunned by how full the lot was. Being single today, I was confident of getting a counter stool. Good thing because the only open table was going to a waiting couple. Best of all, a counter seat was available right in front of the kitchen. As slammed as they appeared to be, the wait for a table was not more than a couple minutes.Three people in the kitchen, "El Jefe" and two line cooks, I assume there was a dishwasher in the back, maybe another doing prep. The fresh fruit was indeed fresh, not canned. As slammed as they were, the kitchen staff was really humming along. No dishes returned to the kitchen and nothing sat around. I'm quite sure Gordon Ramsey would approve.Four servers out front, all of whom clearly knew the whole menu, how to finish every dish with condiments, clear tables, seat guests, cash out tickets, and make coffee (which was very tasty). You can also get a Bloody Mary! None of the servers ever stopped moving for more than the time it took to fill a glass or stack food for at least four customers to deliver to a table. They also kept an eye on keeping the pots of coffee brewing. All in all, a well-oiled team. Even slammed, you can get in and out in 45 minutes.A rather extensive menu of breakfasts seemed to be available all day. Also great sandwiches and burgers as well as dinner entrees that I haven't gotten to (yet). Their skillet breakfasts are very filling and tasty. Rutherford's is definitely one of my favorite diner's in Kingman, located conveniently right on Route 66 one block east of Stockton Hill Road. Even with their prime Route 66 location, the staff estimates about 75% of their clients are regulars.

WOW, this place is awesome! Stopped by on 10/26/24 for an early lunch and decided to stop by for some breakfast items, boy it did not dissapoint. This joint is defenitly a blast from the past. Traditional all American Dinner located right off the famous Route 66. Loved the ambiance considering where you are. Our waitress was extremely kind and helpful! She was on it the entire time and checked on us repeatedly which we appreciated greatly. Menu is good and extensive, a little bit for everyone. My wife and I shared the meal and ordered a ham steak plate and the cinnamon roll French toast and it was all INCREDIBLE! The ham steak was grilled to perfection was of great quality. Considering the serving size, it's worth the price. The cinnamon roll French toast are probably some of the best I have ever had, truly outstanding! This place really is a 10/10. If your in the area, make sure to check them out. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. I know forsure if I am ever in the area again, I will defenitly be stopping by again. Thank you Ruthfords for the GREAT hospitality and food. Till next time!

Super delicious! Yelp, your reviewers did not disappoint. And I got a yelp check-in discount of 10%! My companions and I enjoyed: cinnamon roll French toast, biscuits and gravy, country fried steak, bacon cheeseburger, and kids Mickey pancake. The portions were huge and the price was super reasonable, we even had leftovers. Normally, the kids menu is not a lot of food, but it was here, a generous portion! Our total was less than $60 (after my Yelp discount). The menu is extensive. There are a wide variety of foods available. The server was so kind. The restaurant is clearly older, but this is a local place where the locals will be eating which is always a good sign. Also, there are tons of veteran appreciation items and decorations. Be prepared - they make your food fresh so it could take a bit. This is NOT fast food. I highly recommend!

Well Yelp & friends didn't disappoint us! Staff was very friendly. I had the Greek salad requested the chicken with Cajun seasoning for flavor. The chicken was so moist and added a kick to my salad (that's just me), tons of chicken with the abundance to other stuff, salad dressing just topped it off. Homemade tomato soup was great. Husband had the club sandwich with cottage cheese on side. Sandwich was so stuffed that they had to serve the cottage cheese on the side. I would HIGHLY recommend this place when your in the area. You won't be disappointed!

Love stopping by when I'm in the area. Current Early Bird Special for $6.99 before 10am is Biscuit& Gravy with 2 Eggs and Hash Browns. Of course we ordered one, their biscuits are fluffy and buttery. Zucchini Fries- were more of zucchini wedges of 1 inch diameters. Batter was light and crispy with a peppery taste. Pork Chop & Eggs- server said people usually order them fried, which I then chose. Pork chops were really dry and tough. I wished they tenderized the pork just a tad bit. Wouldn't order this again. Omelets are huge and filling.

Stopped here on the way to Sedona after reading the reviews of folks being really nice about making things vegetarian. The was a sign in the diner itself which bragged about their ability to make things vegetarian. Having done my research by reading these posts, I asked for the Baja tacos and inquired about their vegetarian alternative (expecting to get the potato option like folks here have talked about). The server was extremely rude and very condescendingly told me there would be no replacement for the meat. Maybe that's how they do it now though it's weird that the cost of the plate includes the meat and the vegetarian option they brag about is to remove the meat and charge the same amount? The vibe was a little off - she appeared to treat me and another person in the party with much rudeness. The common factor was that we were the only two people of color in the group (actually in the entire restaurant). I ended up getting the eggs with potatoes. The poached eggs were gross - swimming in the liquid they were probably cooked in? Yikes. Potatoes were ok though - hence the two star instead of one. My advice to y'all: avoid this place unless you're really out of options.
