LOVEEEEE this place! This is an overdue review but the NYC lower east side vibes in here are a VIBE. Menu is on point and has a variety for all taste preferences. I've tried the brisket empanadas, fresh baked croissants, creme brulee french toast, avocado toast, green tea matcha latte, honey vanilla latte, an infused cold tea with Bump Energy drink, tableside fresh Brazilian nut coffee, and I can't wait to go back to try the rest. Service is friendly and inviting, ambience is everything.

Parlour Bar is a bar in El Cortez. It's located close to the restaurant. This is a good casino bar with fun games bartenders who are knowledgeable. It has video poker screens on the bar. There's free drinks if you play enough but they have some better ones if you pay for these. It has a happy hour. Cocktails are two for one. This is about $8 so much cheaper than more glamorous places. Drinks are strong so you're getting a good deal. There's also a food menu included in the happy hour. It's $5 for some appetizers. Most of it's just fried stuff that's not worth that much to begin with. Entertainment includes lounge acts and some musicians. The video poker screens are fun even if you're not winning. In most cases you won't be. The bar is right off the casino floor. Overall this is a great bar. It has what you expect. The happy hour is the best time.

If you're looking for a chill spot, still wanting a cocktail, but not into the busy Fremont east area, I highly recommend the parlour (inside the el Cortez). It's a Sunday night and a lot of bars were closed...walked into this place and it was ideal. Vince was the bartender and he was cool, very mellow and accommodating. Definitely gives classic vibes and good service. Thanks Vince, made a good experience better.

So..... if you knew how much time i've actually spent in here you would probably shake your head at me. It has this classy, old school intimate atmosphere that i haven't found at a lot of other places....the leather furniture, the low lighting and the comfortable surroundings do it for me.There is frequent live music here, but some of the acts are hit or miss. The bartenders are top notch and are very professional not only in appearance but in their duties. Food can be ordered and brought right to you as you play which in my book is a thumbs up.They changed Happy hour though, the drink prices were raised by $2-$3 per drink and they moved the second Happy hour to another bar in the casino. I was wholeheartedly and unreservedly displeased about that one.....Now the drink prices are commensurate to a lot of the overpriced surrounding bars which makes it hard to pull an all nighter like i used to!!Check it out for the atmosphere the service and the old fashioned popcorn machine!

If we had one of the $5 margaritas earlier on in our trip we never would have left this lounge. They were amazing! The decor was nice and comfortable. The bar tender was accommodating. If you are staying at this hotel take advantage of this hidden gem.

This review addresses my "happy hour" experience only. The Parlour Bar & Lounge is located within the El Cortez Hotel & Casino. It offers a daily happy hour special. The "happy hour" takes place between 4pm and 6pm; then again between 11pm to 1am. It features 2-for1 cocktails; half price draft beer; $5 per glass house wine; and $5 select appetizers. During my last visit, I sampled the calamari and potato skins, as well as a 2-for1 cocktail and one beer.Concerning the calamari, the serving size was quite respectable and the quality was good. The calamari was tender--not overcooked. There was not an excessive amount of breading, and it was not too greasy. An order of potato skins consisted of four pieces. It appeared nice--but my order was a bit dry. (Perhaps the cook left it in the oven a little too long?)The bottom line is this: I am not saying that The Parlour's happy hour is a destination; but if you are in the right place, at the right time, this happy hour offers a pretty good value. Some casino noise does drift in; but it is a comfortable place to have a few drinks, get a bite to eat, and relax while watching sports on the room's TVs.

A pretty classy joint to enjoy different styles of beer on tap and in bottles. Also, a quality liquor selection. Some nights have live music and other events. During their happy hours, it can get busy, but thats what makes it a pumpin place then. Bar and table service are great. I enjoy gambling at the bar, but note that their denominations to play are larger than the floor. Thats why you get the special drink/beer/loungy atmosphere for.

Great little lounge in the El Cortez Hotel & Casino. An open modern speakeasy feel to it, rather than a cheesy, run-down, smoke-filled, old Vegas bar. We were staying at the hotel, so this was our go-to for happy hour. And they have double happy hour, meaning, everyday from 4-6pm and from 11pm-1am, you could imbibe on 2-for-1 top shelf wells, and $5 bar bites. We had chicken wings, fries, onion rings, calamari, and loaded potato skins. Everything was delicious, served in a shareable portion, and definitely a deal. They also have a free, self-serve popcorn machine, although a server on the floor was totally hooking us up and getting our popcorn for us.The first night we went, the lounge was pretty full, and there was only 1 server (Yvette?) who seemed overwhelmed. But she was awesome and sweet and hustled to get everyone's orders in, serve the drinks and the food, and cleared our little tables. Great service! The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was for the one African-American male bartender who wore suspenders, who worked the next day. Not once did he smile, welcome us, engage in conversation, and he even gestured that I was taking too long to order! Whatever dude...the rest of the staff we came in contact with made up for your attitude.Hit the Parlour if you ever find yourself at the El Cortez during happy hour!

Let it be heard, let it be known! Thou shalt NOT be allowed to partake in any popcorn from the Parlour Bar & Lounge; no matter how much money spent at El Cortez unless one is playing bar slots! It is VERY STRICT AND SERIOUS guys. All joking aside; We had decent service but when the snoody young blonde lady on a sunny Sunday morning said I was not allowed to have any popcorn from the FREE popcorn machine after spending hundreds of dollars at this hotel, this SAME bar and casino....unless currently playing at the bar, nope. I'm done. That's total bullshit. Grow up and allow the people and your patrons their popcorn....for goodness sakes it's like the cheapest food on earth next to rice and leaves.

On a recent trip to the area, I truly enjoyed my visit to The Parlour. With a great 2 for 1 happy hour and strong, yummy drinks, great service and an eclectic clientele I relaxed and truly took in the old, historical atmosphere and sumptuous oversized leather wing chairs. We met a couple of travelers from Canada and spoke and laughed together while sharing apps and good times. Highly recommend this gem.
