This dim sum place has been very consistent for tea. The dishes were a little more saltier today, normally they're much less saltier. Some items I wanted never appeared today in the carts. Yes they still use the rolling cart system which a lot of us prefer, you may not order something if you ordered off a menu.Instead of my usual day of coming on a saturday, we came on a sunday, big mistake, it was packed and standing room for a table, once you got seated and ordered your tea of choice the carts came around quickly with the dim sum.

Updating my review from some years ago -I still enjoy the food in this restaurant! I do think that it is hit or miss. I either have a great experience or it's the worst. They're not consistent. Staff is still not friendly and not that helpful. Food is still really good, but I typically eat the same dishes. I do question some cleanliness because when we sat down, my plate and fork did not look entirely clean.

Was hungry for chinese food. I would give this restaurant a minus 10. Read the last comment. Seven ladies that work their standing around. After 15 minutes one came over. I ordered hit black tea and wife hot green tea. Only got green and found later they don't have black. Another 20 minutes later one of two that can take an order came over. I ordered sweet and sour pork and wife the general. Food arrived about 30 minutes later. My dinner tasted old and very dry and tuff. The wife's was eatable. The end and most troubling. Watch two ladies clean the table next to us. They spray the table and wiped it down. With the same gloves, placed new dishes and silverware on the table. What is now on your plates??Will never go back. I registered my concerns and ask me what was the problem??? They need lots of training and checked with for health issues.

This rating is 3.5 stars. Orchid gardens is a popular dim sum spot off the strip. There's a long wait during the rush hour but it goes by quickly. You get a number and they call out the number. Once you're seated, the carts make their rounds for you to select from and you can also order from their regular menu. We got the pork shumai, fried lotus cake, sticky rice, chicken feet, shrimp rice rolls, and a bowl of tripe. The shumai and shrimp rice rolls weren't as good as we hoped for. The rice roll wrap wasn't as smooth which was a bummer. The pork shumai lacked a bit of pork. Everything else was standard. The space was large to hold multiple tables to seat people comfortably. It was nice to check out this spot and grab dim sum off the strip.

Food is always good, we've come here for years. Their dimsum sizes are smaller than Hong Kong Garden but the restaurant is bigger and has more space. Service is a shoot or miss. Some of the ladies walking around with the cart cares and looks out for what you're waiting for.

Excellent dim sum served all day! We ordered the shumai, shrimp hargow, chicken feet, chives dumpling, chinese broccoli, sesame balls with yellow bean, chicken chow mein, beef ball, and shrimp wrapped in rice paper. Everything was so good and worth every bite! It cost us around $88 including hot tea. I was very happy & satisfied, hope to come back again when in town...these orchids of dim sum were beautiful in my mouth & in my tummy!

There wasn't a long wait at this place for a Tuesday and on New Years Eve. However there was no parking available! We had to wait around for a spot. My in laws arrived before us and grabbed a table, we were looking for parking and the workers basically forced a dish she didn't want because they were sitting idle for 5 mins. Wouldn't have complained if it tasted good, but literally no one in our party even wanted that item to start. First of all they didn't have a great cart selection so they were waiting and they do not have enough workers pushing a wider variety of food carts or the food was not being prepared quick enough for there to be more people/food selection. For such a big restaurant they only had 2 main hot carts being pushed and 1 pastry cart. Occasionally 1 person would switch off to push the tofu cart. I heard the lady pushing the tofu cart complain they were late pushing it because most of the tables were leaving by the time she started. We sat idle several times for over 10 mins and the longest was over 20 mins because the same type of food cart was stopping by. One cart lady did not wear gloves like the others and would stick her fingers into the container to deliver to our table. They charge for $2 for hot water and $2 per person if you opt for their tea. They autograt like others have mentioned at 16% for parties over 5. Most of the food that came out was lukewarm and we arrived at 11:30-11:45am. I ordered steamed bbq bun and we saw a long strand of hair cooked through and sticking out of the bun! Asked the worker to come by and take it off our bill and he didn't even apologize and remained silent the entire process of calling him over and us pointing at the issue. The Hispanic lady filling and delivering all the ice waters etc was had a pretty bad attitude when I called her over to ask for some straws. Maybe she was upset when she tried to give us more cups of ice water and I said we don't need extra water, I just need some straws. Would highly recommend that you avoid this place unless you want possible food poisoning. One reason I don't prefer coming here is because of their multiple health code violations and terrible service. They aren't even much cheaper than getting dim sum at a casino! Only came because of my in laws being worried it's busy elsewhere given it was NYE and my sister in law likes going. Come dine if you dare!
