I love this place and the family who runs it! When we are starving and craving comfort food for the soul, we go here, which is pretty often. Everything is so hearty and made fresh to order with love, yet just as convenient as fast food, especially with their online ordering option. Plus, you cannot beat the Family Dinners -- an inflation-proof option to feed a crowd. It's hard to stray from the Sweet & Sour Pork but, when we do, the BBQ Spare Ribs, General Tso's Chicken, and Mongolian Beef are at the top of our list for must-tries. Love the real orange peels in the Orange Chicken! The House Special Fried Rice is indeed "special" in its own right, brimming with premium meats you don't usually see in the typically bland fried rice dishes at most other restaurants. Definitely worth the upcharge when ordering as part of a Combination Dinner. Also worth the splurge is the Wor Wonton Soup, which doesn't include actual wonton dumplings but more than compensates with a cornucopia of large shrimp, BBQ pork slices, extra tender chicken, and a medley of fresh veggies -- a meal all by itself. Though, their regular Wonton Soup is no slouch either! Also a big fan of the Crab Rangoons and Breaded Shrimp (dipped in the Sweet & Sour Pork sauce!). They add the perfect amount of decadence to round out the whole meal. Did I mention the Seafood Chow Fun is great, too? It's like Pad See Ew BUT BETTER. Only items I wouldn't recommend are the Eggrolls and Egg Drop Soup. The Eggroll skins can be doughy and the filling brimming with undercooked cabbage. The Egg Drop Soup is tasty but the gummy texture is a little off-putting. I'd still eat both lol. Big blessings to the staff at NYCR!! So grateful for their nourishment and hospitality!

Solid American Chinese food. It's not always good but it's there when you need it. Their wings are great. Spare ribs could be a bit more tender. I think it needs a little more time in the oven low and slow heat. Beef chow fun was very disappointing. Noodles were all stuck together and overall flavorless. This is a staple dish and usually my benchmark for Cantonese dishes. Maybe I'll give it another try next time I'm in town.

This is definitely a takeout restaurant. There are a few tables and chairs, but nothing like a traditional sit down place. They happen to be close to the house so we come here and pick up to bring home quite often. Yes there are a lot of green Chinese restaurants out and throughout Vegas and Henderson but if you need something quick, these guys always hit the spot. Tell you something about myself. I have every fortune from every fortune cookie I've ever opened in my life. One of these days I need to do something with all of them... ha

My second visit and enjoyed the food just as much. Between my two visits I've been able to try several items from their extensive menu. My favorites are the Sliced BBQ Pork, Chow Mein, and Pork Egg Foo Young. Small, clean place designed for take out. Good portions for the price. Their service is great, friendly employees. Not that close to where I live but definitely worth the drive. By the time I get home, I keep forgetting to take pictures of the food. Definitely one of our regular spots now.

Their customer service is amazing! They're helpful in food suggestions and any substitutions if any is needed. We had the sweet and sour chicken dinner combination and beef with broccoli dinner combination plates. We added an extra order of egg rolls and had egg drop soup, wonton soup, and crab rangoons. They are true to being a New York Chinese Restaurant with ordering and go. There is a dine in option with tables and chairs in their small lobby. The menu has all great options, we are frequent customers and will recommend them to anyone.

I appreciated the pictures of the entrees on the wall as im more of a visual girlie. it was pretty busy, so i'd recommend ordering over the phone or just be prepared to wait about 30 minutes. it doesn't feel very welcoming to eat inside the restaurant, and everyone I saw took their food to go. I ordered the combo chow fun, hong kong pan fried noodle, and salt and pepper pork. The combo chow fun was decent. The barbecue pork was so tender and the best part. I was kind of let down by the size of the shrimp as they were so small. I would've been more satisfied if it had some spice, but I didn't ask if they had chili or added spice so that's on me . The hong kong pan fried noodle was okay. I think it would've tasted better if we ate it fresh. The salt and pepper pork was probably the best dish I ordered, but if you don't know how to eat around bones I wouldn't suggest it. It wasn't the best Chinese food I've ever had, but it satisfied the craving.

Never the same after Covid 19 reopening. It was considered our family's #1 Chinese restaurant, it's not anything special anymore. It may have to do with the fact that they've gone to foam plates and plasticware as a start. The dishes just don't taste like they did and I'm not sure if it's the older owners that made the difference or if the place got sold. My go to dish that I enjoyed the most there was chicken and black bean sauce. It had a wonderful flavor and fresh vegetables recently it More of a starchy gravy with very little chicken. The fried rice always seems to be off taste recently.

Number 1 New York Chinese is a great place to eat! The restaurant is fairly small so don't bring a large group for lunch! However if you get take out they can handle any size order! The food is really good and the staff is friendly!

New York Chinese is really good and authentic Chinese food. It's located in the same plaza as Target off Green Valley Parkway. There is plenty of seating inside and TVs to watch while you eat, although it seems like most people order takeout. It's a quick casual spot and you're in and out fairly quickly. The service is quick and they prefer you pay cash, although credit cards are accepted too. I like coming here for their lunch specials. They have a large selection of items to choose from. The lunch specials include soup or a soda and a crab rangoon, so it's a really good deal. The portions are huge too so you'll definitely have leftovers.
