Summary for the busy executive: A tidy, small, conveniently located liquor store with polite staff. But they can't compete with the big boys in terms of either selection or price, and their staff needs a wee bit more training.Full review:Today, I thought that it might be pleasant to stop by a smaller liquor store than the big box places that dominate Las Vegas, so I checked out Liquor City. It is conveniently located across Horizon Ridge from Target, in a small and easily accessible strip mall setting. Inside, the store is tidy, organized, and fast to size up. I was looking for bourbon, and it took a nanosecond to find their alphabetized whiskey selection. Since it was so well organized, it didn't take long for me to determine that they didn't have what I was looking for. I asked the young man behind the counter if they had Evan Williams bottled-in-bond (white label), and was met with a bewildered, "Yes, we have Evan Williams. It's right there." He pointed at standard black label Evan Williams. "No, no," I attempted to clarify, "bottled-in-bond. White label." His response: "What's that?" Aside from my disappointment that they didn't have what I wanted, I was a bit surprised that the fellow behind the counter didn't know what a bonded whiskey is, or that liquors have different varieties sold under the same label. Bottled-in-bond whiskey isn't a rare or weird thing. Somebody who works at a liquor store should really know about it.Failing to find my favorite cheap bottle, I decided to go for my second choice: Wild Turkey 101. Everybody sells it, as did Liquor City. But then came the sticker shock: $50 for a handle. That's really expensive! So I bid the nice clerk farewell and headed to Lee's Liquors, where I bought a handle of WT101 for $35. So: It's a nice idea to have a locally owned and convenient liquor store. But they don't seem able to compete with the major players, and there's not much to recommend here until they up their game.

Ron went out of his way to help me (and in turn, everyone else) get more options for japanese beer/liquor. Thank you for going that extra mile!

We had a great experience here, prices are appropriate, shop is open but intimate, and Ron who was at the counter was very helpful and friendly. We knew nothing about alcohol and he helped walk us through what we should get. His suggestions were great and I'm so glad to say, we'll be back!

I was charged $2.66 for a shot that was labeled at $1.99 plus tax. How could I be charged 67 Cents of tax on $1.99?

This store is amazing! Marvin has done a fantastic job putting gems/unicorn bottles on the shelves. Last couple times I've visited his store I came home with something I've never thought I could find. Marvin is very friendly, genuine, approachable and helpful, he's still learning to put his prices on certain bottles, but the last two bottles I got(SW Desert Jewel) & (EHT BP) we're totally steal for 129.99 each! Amazing!!!!! Will be visiting more frequently!!Come visit, introduce yourself to Marvin, he might be able to help you find a unicorn. Thanks Marvin! All the best Liquor City
