Lawry's Famous Spinning Bowl Salad

Lawry's is one of my favorite restaurants ever. Their prime rib is absolutely worth all the rave. My girlfriends and I came for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the experience from the food to the service. They mix and serve the salad tableside and it was truly one of the best Caesar salads I've ever had. They mix it in a cold metal bowl so the lettuce stays cold and crisp. The croutons were also nicely crunchy but not too much and the dressing was amazing! There were 6 of us and we ordered 3 Lawry's cut to share and still couldn't finish them! They roll a cart to your table to ask how you'd like the prime rib which they then cut and plate for you tableside along with the mashed potatoes on the plate. The prime rib looks incredibly pink so I was wary at first since I tend to be a medium doneness level rather than medium-rare but it was amazing. The meat was so tender and flavorful. It came with horseradish and some other seasonings but they weren't even necessary. The mashed potatoes were a good mix of chunky and creamy and the gravy was yummy too. We also ordered the creamed spinach and creamed corn and they were delicious. Flavorful and creamy but not overdone in the cream. We were absolutely stuffed by the end of the meal but the whole experience is one that I definitely enjoyed. Can't wait to visit Lawry's again!

I had high expectations heading into Lawry's The Prime Rib, given its longstanding reputation and the fact that "Prime Rib" is right there in the name. Unfortunately, the experience fell short in ways I didn't anticipate.First, let me say that the atmosphere was excellent. It was exactly what you'd expect from this kind of steakhouse--muted lighting that created a relaxed, upscale ambiance, a noise level well below the loud, bustling norm of modern restaurants, and furnishings that felt refined. The decor had a touch of old-world Vegas charm with an Art Deco influence, featuring curved wood details, beautiful tile work, and what appeared to be polished granite floors. From an aesthetic standpoint, it definitely delivered on the experience. The biggest surprise, however, was the food itself. The prime rib--while not terrible--was just okay, and that's a tough pill to swallow when it's supposed to be the star of the show. I've had better prime rib at other steakhouses, and the overall flavor and texture didn't stand out in the way I had hoped. It felt more like a high-end buffet carving station rather than a premier steakhouse experience.Adding to the underwhelming impression was the abundance of Lawry's Seasoned Salt on every table. While Lawry's seasoning has its place, seeing it everywhere made me wonder if this was more about branding than craftsmanship. A great prime rib should stand on its own, without needing a heavy-handed seasoning crutch. To be clear, the meal wasn't bad, but it wasn't great, either. If you're expecting an iconic prime rib experience, you might leave feeling a little disappointed. Maybe I just caught them on an off night, but for a place with this level of name recognition, I expected a lot more.Would I go back? Maybe--but not for the prime rib.

Colin is GREAT!! Fantastic server- kept us laughing and entertained the entire meal. The prime rib was great! I've been here before and I'll definitely be back again- but the service this time around was the extra cherry on top for a great experience.

Such amazing food and presentation! I made reservations on their website and was immediately greeted and seated upon arrival. Our server was very attentive and helpful. The Prime Rib was the star of the night! It was extremely tender and flavorful. The creamed corn was the perfect amount of sweetness and I enjoyed the thin crunch from the Yorkshire pudding. This restaurant is definitely a must try! I enjoyed how our prime rib is cut in front of us and served for us to see. It makes for a great show along with the salad preparation. It felt very interactive and I enjoyed the night.

I've been wanting to come here for awhile and finally made it. This place did not disappoint. If you like prime rib this is definitely the place to go.Restaurant is dim. When they sit you they pull out the table for you to sit and then pushes the table back. They give you a warm basket of sourdough bread. We ordered the classic prime rib dinner. The spinning salad is spun table side by your server. Salad was good. Kinda like a Caesar salad but not. Prime Rib cart comes by and servers you table side. California Cut is the smallest cut. This is what I got, along with mashed potatoes and creamed corn. My bf got the English Cut which is 3 thin slices of prime rib. Everything was delicious. We were able to cut our prime rib with our butter knives. The meal comes with Yorkshire pudding which was like a thin puffy bread. Never had it before. Server said it's good to dip in your au jus. For dessert we got a hot fudge sundae. It was one of the smaller desserts. We were soo full that what we chose. Everything here was good. We will definitely come back.

Wonderful dinner! This was our 2nd time coming here, and it's become a little tradition to go during the Xmas season while there are carolers. We had a pretty early reservation for 5:15pm on the Friday night before Xmas. We waited a few minutes for our table and then we sat in the crescent room which was very nice! The first time we were here, we were in the main room. The crescent room was smaller than the main room, which felt very nice and more romantic for us. Our service was fantastic! I believe our server's name was Juan. He was attentive and quick with everything. We ordered 2 of the holiday cocktails and they were very good! Mine was the cranberry mule, and I thought it was pretty strong. For our meals, I got the scallops and creamed corn, and my husband got the sea bass and macaroni and cheese. The scallops are amazing! The seasoned crust is fantastic, and the cream corn is just the right amount of richness. My husband loved the sea bass, and it was a pretty decent serving. The mac and cheese portion was also very big! We each got a dessert go to, the trifle cake and the chocolate cake. Wow! The chocolate cake was so rich and thick, and the frosting was perfect sweet to balance all of that darker chocolate out. The trifle was also tasty and really light. I 100% recommend trying this place once if you are on the fence! It's on the pricier side, we got 2 cocktails, 2 entrees and a side each, and 2 desserts and we spent about $230 total before tip, but I love the experience, especially during the holidays. Speaking of, there were carolers! It was lovely and I highly recommend going for that as they go table to table.

Our waitress was pleasant throughout the whole dinner. She offered to give us explanations of the menu and drinks. We went with the lawry cut and shared three of them between five people (we still had leftovers). She did say their tables aren't built for sharing so it was kind of a tight fit but that was no big deal. The food did take a little while to get to us, I'd say you would spend about 2 hours of your time here. Lawry's prime ribs: 8/10 I'm not too much of a steak person so it tasted like any other steak, but it was very tender and pretty fatty. Their wellness is done slightly under than what you ask for, aka ask for medium and you'll get something that's in between medium rare to medium. They give you the option to add creamed corn and/or spinach that's an additional 50¢ for each one. But the spinning salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, and Yorkshire pudding come with the plateSpinning salad: 10/10 Their tableside service of was cool, they give you the backstory to how lawry came to be. They recommend putting their seasoned pepper on it but to me it didn't taste significantly different. Their croutons were yummySeasonal mushrooms: 9/10 your average shrooms for a palate cleanser, helped to cut out some of the heaviness from the steak Roasted Brussels sprouts: 7/10 kind of burnt and not the biggest portion but I need my fiber lol

I was raised with Lawrys in Chicago and was there before they closed in 2020. Coming here should have like coming home, instead it left me wanting to go home.Waitress was an "okay"friendly but when I asked if there was sesame in the bread, she asked another person as if "the princess needs to know." I tried to ignore it but I felt her "gimme a break." I'm anaphylactic! So, it's serious!I ordered the lite cut lunch. Potatoes, Yorkshire and corn. (I never eat corn but do recall it as being fantastic in Chicago.)I asked for medium. I got rare med rare. The knife was too dull to cut the meat. I left 1/2 of the meat or more on the plate because it was gross and tough. And undercooked! She did ask "how things were" but I said fine since the way she made me feel about my allergen inquiry. The potatoes... meh. The corn... I wish I had skipped it. The bread & Yorkshire pudding were the best part. I would have been happier losing the $50 on the roulette table. Factor in $30 r/t Ubers, that was $80 and I feel it did not live up to my memories. Maybe I expected too much, but regardless, it still did not change the way I felt about the service and the food, in general. So disappointed
