I absolutely love Lotus of Siam and knowing this, a friend recommended Lamaii to us. And this person did not steer us wrong. Lamaii may not be as well known as Lotus of Siam, but their food is very comparable at a better price tag. Located in a plaza in Chinatown, the spot looks humble on the outside. Walking inside, it's not a big restaurant but decent-sized and the decor is fancy-ish, at least much nicer than most Thai restaurants I've been to in my neck of the woods (SGV and Hollywood in the Greater LA area). So it's wonderful choice for a casual get-together but also fancy enough for a more casual date night. Items we ordered:Hamachi Crudo (it was one of the specials they had on the menu)Garlic Herb Crispy PrawnsPanang with Crispy DuckGang PuGarlic String BeansHamachi Crudo was different and not something you'd typically find at a Thai spot but theirs was delicious - fresh and a lot of bright flavors. Garlic Herb Crispy Prawns were delicious as well although IMHO, not as on point as Lotus of Siam but pretty darn close. Panang with Crispy Duck - okay, this was the best and most memorable out of the things we ordered. The panang was a flavor bomb with all the right balance of flavors and creaminess...and for all the roasted duck lovers...this is IT!!!Gang Pu, which is a Spicy Crab Curry, isn't a common find at Thai places. I've only had it at Luv2Eat in Hollywood. While Luv2Eat's version rivals (with more accompaniments like fresh basil, bean sprouts, string beans, carrots and a hard-boiled egg, to enjoy with the curry and noodles), Lamaii's is a strong option in its own right. Simple but very flavorful nonetheless and the crab comes shelled so it makes for easy eating. Not quite a 4 and not quite a 5...more like a 4.5 for Lamaii but I like to round up. If you're like me and love Lotus of Siam, you'll love Lamaii as an alternate option. They do get packed - we went for dinner a bit before 5 pm and there was another seated table inside upon our arrival but within 10 - 15 mins, and definitely halfway into our meal, the place was packed. So be an old lady like me and opt for an earlier dinner if you don't want to wait long and get hangry. Eat lots and enjoy at Lamaii!

I rarely give out 5 stars but Lamaii was amazing! Service was good. Food came fast. And every dish tasted so good! I can't recommend it enough!Papaya salad - fresh and good flavor. Not sweet enough for me but perfect for my husbandRaw oysters - love their Asian style mignonette sauce. And the oysters were sweet and freshPanang Crispy Duck - the Panang curry is light and flavorful. You can definitely taste the coconut. Rice is not included so I ordered it on the side but I really didn't need it because they don't give that much Panang sauce. The duck was the star. It was so crispy and yummy. It was soooo good. 12oz angus beef with their dipping sauce - delicious. Steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. The flavors were all spot on Pad Thai with Crispy Prawns - sleeper hit of the night! The shrimp was beyond delicious!! It was so crispy that it melts in your mouth. They're so clever with the shrimp shell. It's slightly attached to the shrimp and it's also deep fried. The pad Thai noodles were good too. Loved this dish!

One of my favorite spots in Vegas. I've come here multiple times during the past several years. * good food* good ambiance * creative cocktails and large alcoholic menu* fast service One thing that caught us off guard this past trip was that we were charged gratuity for large party as a family of 5. Never have we been considered a large party as a group of 5 when we have two children that are well underaged. We went last year as a same size family (one year younger) and weren't charged 20% gratuity... we don't mind paying for that but was not expecting it. This past trip - our duck and chicken in our meal was slightly tough to eat and our kids left it on the plate. Either they changed ownership and chef from last year to this year ... this past trip gave us a different memory than our many previous visits. A must order:- crispy prawns. My favorite - crab fried rice - drunken noodles- pad see ew - my two kids eat this like nothing We might try this place one more time to see if things were just off our past trip.

I've been wanting to try this place for a long time after hearing great things about it from friends. We were tired of food from the strip and decided to make our way out! They decor here is nice and fancy, not your typical Thai restaurant. We ordered a few things to share with our party. For appetizer we ordered the crispy calamari and Tom yum goong. The calamari was light and crispy, I really enjoyed it. I wasn't a huge fan of the tom yum, I thought it tasted like tomatoes. We also thought it would come in a hot pot but it was just served in a large bowl. The crispy prawns pad thai was really good, the prawns were huge and fried perfectly. The pad Thai noodles were thinner noodles which we weren't used to but it was still really good flavor. We also got the crispy duck panang curry, I loved the curry sauce but thought the duck was ok, kinda dry. The crab fried rice was also really good, it came with a decent amount of crab! Overall I would definitely return and try other things on the menu. Highly recommend!

Had an overall great experience at Lamaii! The food was very flavorful, and the portion sizes were pretty fair - my favorite dishes were the garlic crispy shrimp, and the panang crispy duck. The only thing that I didn't love was having to order rice separately for around $2.50 per bowl. Service was really warm and friendly and the food also all came out very quickly! Interior is decorated really elaborately as well. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for great Thai food off the strip!Food: 4.5/5Price: 4/5Ambiance: 4/5Service: 5/5

Lamaii is such a beautiful and ambient restaurant that boasts a long list of wine choices and recommendations to go with certain dishes.I came for an early lunch and opted for a Thai iced coffee instead of wine. I never had Thai coffee before and was surprised to find that while it looked very strong, it wasn't as strong as it looked (which I was happy about). And it wasn't sweet but not super sweet. Finally I would absolutely come back for the prawn pad Thai. The prawns were lightly battered, and crispy. The pad Thai was just how I liked it- a balance of salty, sweet, and tangy.

Pretty restaurant, great for big groups and date night. The service was great and quick. Our waiter was very attentive and gave us many recommendations. We ended up getting the Roasted Duck Spicy Fried rice and Kao Soi. Everything came out steaming hot and nicely plated. They make their own chili powder in house so there's definitely heat and flavor. The duck was delicious and was our favorite. They had fried and roasted options for duck.

The fanciest Thai place I've ever been to! Every dish we ordered was filled with flavor! Some might say the dishes are small and not worth it but I say, YOLO!The table shared the papaya salad (not pictured) which was refreshing. The crispy beef was also great, very tender and flavorful. The eggplant was soft and not chewy at all. Lastly the panang sea bass was amazing. Never had sea bass in my panang but it worked perfectly. Cooked to perfection and not dry at all. If I were to describe this restaurant, I'd say...FLAVOR! The tables were clean. Great for big parties. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I'll be back for sure!!!

Came to this place on a Sunday afternoon and absolutely loved it! We came right after they opened and were helped by staff who were so sweet, one of them being one of the owners of the restaurant. The restaurant is located in the Chinatown area of Vegas and has so much parking. The interior design of the restaurant was classy but comfortable. Even though we went during the day, I expect the restaurant to be moody and perfect for a dinner date in the evening. We ordered SO many things and everything was of quality. To start we ordered the Fried Pork Belly, and it comes with this amazing dipping sauce. My group finished it so fast.I ordered the Yum Neur (steak salad) and loved it. So refreshing and so light. Would highly recommend. Some other notable dishes from my group included the Mango Crispy Catfish. It comes with a mango salad in chili and lime, kinda serving like coleslaw but even better; my uncle left no leftovers from that plate. The kao soi was perfect for my aunt's hangover and had a lot more meat than expected. The Crab Fried Rice was also a hit, and was shared and gobbled up quickly by our group.Prices are pretty fair and the service was excellent! Definitely at the top of my list of places to return to on my next trip to Vegas!
