One of our friends in our group picked this restaurant. When we got there we were semi-unimpressed with the smaller menu. We contemplated leaving for another restaurant but decided to stick it out since we were there. Turns out I am so thankful we did. The food was absolutely fabulous. We got a bunch of shareables and more food than we can handle and enjoyed every dish. Ambiance was wonderful at this restaurant but it is Vegas. Service was good too and our server was quite patient. Drinks were equally as good

Everything was good, but I feel like nothing stood out as being amazing to be worth the price of admission. It's a beautiful space located in Restaurant Row at Mandalay Bay Casino and might be the only Sushi place within a short tram ride away from Luxor and Excalibur (and ask yourself, do you really want Excalibur Sushi?).We had a "Resort Credit" as part of our stay at the Luxor, so we decided to use it here. The two "5 - star" dishes were the Bluefin Tuna Pizza and the Citrus Green Salad. The pizza was just delightful with a thin cracker crust and delicious thin sliced tuna on top with some other things added. $30 was a bit much if you ask me, but when in Rome (or Mandalay, I guess). The salad was excellent as well with super fresh greens and a nice citrus bright salad. The Wagyu Gyoza was also $30 and I'd caution you to really think about it. The Wagyu got lost and you're better off just getting some at another restaurant with a hot stone or something. Very underwhelming. The side of fried rice for $18 was also good, but c'mon man! It's rice! I've had larger orders of crab fried rice for less money at other places. It nothing stood out to make this killer! Benihana is better for fried rice! And I didn't realize it had asparagus in it till later that night (be warned). The Kumikaze Roll was the most underwhelming. The lemon slices on top sounded like a good refreshing idea, but they made the whole thing bitter. Think 90's Keystone Beer commercials (Bitter Beer Face, anyone?). Keystone Sushi anyone? Noooooo thank you!Service was pretty good and what you'd expect for a place like this. However, we've spent less money for higher quality. Nobu is just a short Uber ride away so if you're going to pay Nobu prices, you might as well just go to Nobu.3 stars as some dishes were good and some weren't all that. But when the Salad is better than the sushi roll, you got some 'splainin' to do, Kumi!

Great meal at Kumi during our conference! The portions are on the smaller side, so plan accordingly. They got our order wrong a few times but the good was pretty decent. We enjoyed a bunch of rolls, the soft shell bao buns, miso cod, salmon, and more. Everything was tasty. We had an early dinner so it was more quiet - would recommend coming with a reservation during peak dinner hours.

Happened to check this place out just by trying to figure out what to eat and we're glad we did because now we know to add another delicious place to our places to eat list. Everything we had was pretty delicious and the food came out fast which we loved. There is lots of seating with two main rooms it looks like and then also a whole bar section.

Nice bar area and separate dining area. The dining area itself is actually really impressive with its high domed ceiling with a giant lighting/art installation that must be a nightmare to clean. The menu was also impressive with options like the bluefin pizza and Wagyu gyoza. Both of which are $30 a pop. Only one was worth the money. The pizza was excellent. The gyoza not so much. Couldn't even tell you were eating wagyu. The salad, as simple as it was, was one of my favorites because it was so fresh. The crispy rice topping was a nice touch. The sushi roll was easily the least enjoyed. The lemon was actually why I thought it sounded good but actually ruined it for me. Even when I took it off I didn't enjoy it.Overall it's looking and looks like it will be really good, but I wouldn't go back.

Totally impressed. By far the best salmon nigiri I have ever had. I don't care that it was 16 dollars for two. I literally might go back tomorrow. The drinks were also immaculate. Perfectly crafted and very strong. It's Vegas after all. The atmosphere was okay I was sat at the bar so I didn't get the full experience. If I go back tomorrow I'll try to sit somewhere else. But I don't care that much about atmosphere when the nigiri was that good. The tuna was so good as well I haven't had tuna like that before. So buttery. The unagi was also super tender and perfectly seasoned. I also really enjoyed the edamame the flaky sea salt makes all the difference. I highly recommend coming here. But you will pay the Vegas price. It's worth it though.

This is the second time I eat here while staying at Mandalay Bay for work and it's always a slam dunk. My old fashioned was perfect, as was everything we ordered including the crab bao buns (just pricey! It was like $20+ per bao), the mushroom beef bop (just wow), and the Chilean Sea Bass (also incredible flavor profile). They explain every dish that comes out to you and the presentation is wonderful. The matcha bread pudding was so different from any bread pudding I'd ever tried. This is my favorite restaurant in Mandalay - check them out if you love Asian food.

As soon as you walk in your attention goes straight to their cherry blossom in room they have. It's lit up beautifully and sets up a great ambiance. The service was really good. Our waitress Amanda answered all our questions regarding the menu and helped us select which rolls were most to our liking. We got a large variety to try as we were really hungry:Cherry Blossom- so fresh, yogurt sauce was tangy Kumikaze- fresh lemon is citrusy acidic, sooo goodHot mess- huge bite but so worth it. Crispy onions and spicy mayo add the perfect touch to a soy wrapped rollShogun- blown away with the toro, the gift that keeps on giving, Fresno chili on point, hits with the shrimp at the end for a harmonious biteWe also ordered the tuna pizza, after the amazing rolls we found this dish to be a little over salty. I also traditionally always get miso soup every time I eat miso soup and I'm happy to report that this one was so good; the umami was absolutely delicious and perfectly balanced. It was my birthday and they brought out some ice cream with a candle which was sweet. But to really satisfy our craving we also ordered the mochi ice cream which came in matcha and strawberry flavor. The perfect ending to an amazing meal. Overall I highly recommend coming here for a great sushi experience.

Stopped by Kumi for some food before our reservation at Swingers in Mandalay Bay. The restaurant is pretty huge and very beautifully decorated. Our server was friendly and gave us a few recommendations like this spicy tuna crispy rice. It was delicious! We ordered and shared a few rolls and another appetizer. Food was good and sushi tasted fresh just with the portions were a bit larger especially for the price. Understandably the restaurant is on the strip in a resort so we knew we'd be spending a lot more here. Overall a great experience!
