Went for the first time last weekend with my husband & we had a pleasant experience. The restaurant is so cute & cozy. Service was on it. We went pretty early, so it wasn't busy at all, but as we were finishing up it filled up very quickly. I had steak & eggs & my husband had the country fried steak & eggs. They make a great steak. Hand cut 8oz NY steak. Ordered rare & was actual rare. My husband's country fried steak was really good too. I loved the breading & gravy they used. They were reasonably priced in my opinion & we will definitely come back.

I've passed by Hometown Country Kitchen many times taking my daughter to soccer practice, but never stopped in since we live quite far away on the other side of town. We finally got the chance to try it out on Saturday when we had a long wait between games and our friends asked us to go with them.We arrived at about 10:30 and noticed that there was a lot of people waiting both inside and out...usually a great sign! We were told the wait would be around 20 minutes and were seated after a short wait. The restaurant is quite cozy and definitely has that smalltown country feel to it. It brought me back to some memories of my youth out in the country and honestly, of my grandma and grandpa's house. It seems like the most popular meal at Hometown Country Kitchen is breakfast, at least that is what most of the orders going out appeared to be. They looked pretty good and nice serving sizes but since it was closer to lunch I decided to go with one of my favorite sandwiches, the Reuben. My daughter was craving pancakes so I got her the pancakes with fruit. The pancakes were HUGE! They came with strawberries on the side (that is how my daughter requested it) and a bunch of whipped cream on the side as well. My daughter absolutely loved the big fluffy pancakes and ate more of them than I expected. My Reuben on the other hand was quite disappointing. When it arrived, I quickly noticed that it was not the typical robust Reuben sandwich that I'm used to getting...it looked quite small and lackluster in my opinion. The sandwich was ok, but definitely missing something. It did not have the normal thick stack of corned beef and the sauerkraut seemed almost non-existent. It also seemed like it had American cheese on it instead of the usual Swiss. Either way, it was off and less than fulfilling. I ordered it with a side of potato salad, which came in a small bowl that contained a few bites but not that much. The flavor of the potato salad was quite good but I could have used more. My friends had the Tuna Melt and the French Dip and said they were pretty good. The staff and service was spot on and everyone was very friendly, we never had to wait long for anything and our cups never reached empty...very attentive and kind! While I wouldn't drive out there just to eat at Hometown Country Kitchen, I would probably try them out again when in the area for breakfast to see if that was better or their specialty. I certainly would recommend anyone thinking about going to give them a shot and see for themselves...the vibe is definitely cool.

Review #35 of 2024Friday November 1 around 12:30 p.m.Friendly charm, and great staff. We absolutely loved the idea of visiting this well reviewed community restaurant. For me, I always rate these comfort food diners based on how well their Country Fried Steak is made.Sadly this business missed on that. The has browns and eggs were on point. The gravy was ok, and the country fried steak was extremely salted as if it was marinated in ocean water and the leftover was used to make the batter. I mentioned it to the server as I only ate about 1/4 of it and I had to tap out. My wife got a a Chili burrito, and it was ok, but left for a want as the chili was barely covering the outer portion, but the inside was just an eggs and potatoes.Disappointing experience based on the food 1/5 and the price we paid for it, although the service was 5/5 stars. Will not be back.

We t back for the second time. Because the first time was SO good! First time, corned beef hash! AMAZING! Today we had the pancake combo! The cakes were thick and fluffy. Best I've ever had. Also the California omelet. Could have used some cheese on the inside. But cooked perfectly and the hash browns were nice and crisp. Cute hometown decor. And our server was right on point. Didn't interrupt, but never had to ask for a refill on my soda. Wish I'd gotten her name. She was fantastic! Short hair, cute glasses maybe in her 40s? I'll be back!

One of my favorite places to eat! They have the best chicken and waffles for sure! The breading on the chicken is really good and the gravy is amazing. They put real flowers at each table which i think is cute. The decor is like a cozy little house that reminds me of how my grandmas house was. I love it! The service is always great as well!

This was our second time here. The first time was when they first opened. I must say the service and the time it took to get our food has significantly improved from our last experience. The food was good and the servings were huge. I'm so glad we went with the fries instead of the potatoes or the hash brown. The fries were pretty good. Our servers were nice and friendly. Inside, it gives the cozy, country vibe.

I arrived at 1:40 pm, lunch rush was over. I stood there for 10 minutes without anyone even glancing my way. I had to go into the dining area to ask me to be seated. She was nonchalant so I left.

Came to this restaurant this morning for my birthday and was utterly disappointed. We sat there for 40 minutes and watched 4 tables get sat and served before we made the choice to get up and leave.I spoke to the Manager (Hispanic female) who made excuses about the server possibly not putting our order in and just continued to make excused.Me and my family are bi-racial and I never assume it's because of that but I will tell you what, it certainly made us feel that way. Especially since everyone there was white to include the 4 tables that were sat and served before us.We really wanted to support this small local business and it kills me to have to write this. We and anybody we know will not return to this restaurant. We are Henderson locals so we will spread the word. Do better Country
