Gourmet China is an American/Chinese Restaurant. The North Las Vegas location is NOT a fancy place. It is mostly for take out only. They do have 3 1/2 tables inside but during the winter the heat isn't on and it's freezing inside so you don't want to dine in.The good news is that they do prepare chicken and beef very well. In our dishes both were very tender.We shared some egg rolls (they are more like spring rolls). They were crisp on the outside but with gooey interiors.The bad news is that dishes like the Szechuan Hot Garlic Chicken isn't hot and isn't garlic-ee. BUT IS SO CLOYINGLY SWEET YOU CAN POUR IT ON PANCAKES. I love sweets but this was so sweet it upset my stomach. Something is also wrong with the hot chili oil.........It's not hot. I don't know what it is?Summing things up it could have been a lot better.

The food was basic, but a step up from Panda Express; except that Panda has better orange chicken based on flavor and the crispier batter.Chicken chow mein with fried rice & eggroll lunch special ($8.55): simple, but a bargain for tons of food. The inside was small, but I was there for only pick-up. There is plenty of parking, so there is no need to worry.They do run an efficient business, and I would go back here for a quick bite and big portions that is budget friendly during lunch.

They place used to be amazing for food and customer service. Im not sure if its the same owner or not but customer service has gone down a lot. We came in at 8:36 thinking we still had close to an hour to eat however the person at the register said they closed at 9. He said we could order but had to leave by 9 because they close at 9. On google and yelp their hours are 9:30. Please update your hours because we drove from far away only to realize it was too late. Unfortunately last time my husband came to pick up food he said the server was really rude. Its a shame because we really liked this place. Its good food but businesses eventually dont make it if you have bad service.

Ordered some pick up for the whole family. Grandfolks, uncle, my daughter and myself. There aren't many good Chinese places on this side of town so I had high hopes based off fellow yelper reviews. Food was ready to pick up by the time the quoted which was a first great impression.I ordered pot stickers, chicken chow mein, broccoli beef, Szechuan hot garlic beef, and steamed deluxe vegetable with chicken with a garlic sauce. It came with 2 big sides of rice and a side of egg rolls which tasted great. The vegetables with chicken were served with their garlic sauce on the side. The sauce was the only thing I didn't care for as it was on the sweeter side and I didn't taste any garlic. We ate the chicken and vegetables on their own without the sauce. Everything else was great.. and this is probably the best Chinese place I've been to on this side of town on a while.

I ordered the general chicken lunch with white rice. Good pricing. The general chicken is a bit Spicer than I use to. The white rice was under cook as some of the grain is hard. Service was quick. Ambiance is a small restaurant with a handful of table. It is definitely a to go type restaurant. Like other reviews, you get a lot of food for the price. I gave it 4 stars because my parents also owned a small business and I like to support small business. It is fast good chinese food but not like panda express because the food is made when you order.

China Gourmet consistently delivers exceptional service with a friendly staff who ensures accurate orders. While I rarely capture photos due to the irresistible nature of the food, their egg drop and sour soups are my go-to comfort when feeling under the weather. Highly recommended for both service and soothing dishes.

Had the orange chicken which I was so impressed with in the past. Not so much this time. I guess I need to request extra crispy next time. Chicken wings were very good tasting and crispy. Lots of garlic made them really good. Pot stickers were good but not the best I've had. Service is fine but man he doesn't like his job. This is a take out only. It literally has a 16 person max capacity.

Food was typical American Chinese and plentiful - should have split entree - ate for three days. Take out service was fast. I ordered the General Tsao combo; medium spice - just hot enough. The vegetable fried rice was delicious. We also ordered the chicken pad thai - it was tasty, too. Have been to a couple of other American-Chinese places on the north side, but this is one we will go back to.

My husband found this restaurant on Christmas when most places were closed, and let me say it does not disappoint! Food is delicious and comes in bigger portions. Service is always fast especially for takeout orders. Their orange chicken is the best we have found in Vegas, and they surprisingly have an amazing chicken noodle soup!
