Farm Basket

My phone really tracks my location, how did I discover Farm Basket, I happened to see an add on my phone, then I searched Farm Basket on Yelp, curious and needed to try since I LOVE chicken especially fried chicken. There are about 4 locations of Farm Basket and I made a request to hubby to take me to the nearest location before he heads to the casino to gamble. Cute little place, has a country feeling, The staff working are friendly. I asked a few questions before I decided on my order. The turkey fried steak dinner sounds great but I was in the mood for fried chicken. Wow, I noticed the prices for the family baskets meals are really cheap too, 6 pieces chicken with 3 regular sides and 2 rolls for $18.99! If I lived here I would get the family deal weekly with pot of rice. I just wanted to try the chicken, the rolls and sides! I got the 3 piece meal with mashed potato and fries. $9.99, cheap! The other half and I snacked on this before our dinner and the verdict, Yums! Have you ever tried frozen microwave country fried chicken dinner, (During small kid time these microwave dinner came in handy!) -it reminds me of it but except this is made fresh, I really enjoyed my meal and hubby too! The chicken was light and crispy, the mashed was buttery and love the gravy, the fries was just the right cripiness. The rolls sure brought back memories of school lunch days. Try the spicy farm basket sauce, the chicken doesn't come in spicy but hot sauce is available. The clucketos, rolled chicken tacos sounds interesting and the chicken fingers, hand breaded chicken fingers. I found my new chicken spot that I really enjoyed. I will be back for more! Farm Basket, this local favorite has been in business for over 50 years and I have only found out about it during this February visit via my phone. hidden gem!

I visited with a group of friends - as it turns out too many to sit at one booth. The seating is limited to 4 or fewer per table. It is also out of date, meaning it needs to be refreshed by putting in new tables, and decor, flooring. The service was to the table, something I wasn't anticipating. Usually when you order at a window, they will later call your name. Perhaps this level of service is desired by the owners. However, given the tiny space, and the ordering process, they should consider taking our names and calling us up. The people were friendly enough - but no one smiled or said hello, etc. They looked beaten down. The wait area for take out was a bit small - standing room only, and got in the way of the ordering window. I ordered the clucker meal with lettuce, tomato, etc. The chicken portions were large, which I was happy with. Others ordered 3 piece meal - the pieces are large and hard to call 'fingers'. The fries were supposed to have seasoning other than just salt. They did not. After taking the fries back up, and they sprinkling something on them, the flavor didn't change. So, while the fries were good, they were missing a main ingredient. I also ordered 1/2 dozen orange rolls. It took some time to actually get them. Apparently very popular, so they are cooking these rolls all the time. That being said, the rolls I received look nothing - absolutely nothing - like to picture. The orange flavor is practically non-existant. Over all the food was ok. If I were nearby and wanted chicken I'd consider getting the 3 piece. I would not travel any distance to come here.

I have been wanting to try tho place for a while now and finally made it. Went in for lunch and it was very good. There are only 6 tables to sit and eat and 4 were taken when we got there. We both ordered the chicken meals. I ordered 3 pieces and my cousin 2 pieces, and it comes with 2 sides. I was given a leg, thigh, and a breast and I ordered mashed potatoes and fries. Yes, both kinda weird but I wanted to try the fries. Lisa was given a thigh and a breast with Cole slaw and mashed potatoes. The chicken was tasty and very juicy. I like it a bit more crunchy but it was very good. The mashed potatoes were ok. The gravy kind of reminded me of gumbo. The Cole slaw had good flavor and the fries were good. I will definitely come back to try a chicken sandwich and I was told the gobbler (turkey) was a good sandwich so maybe I'll try that too.

I hate to say it as a transplant to Vegas because I recognize a lot of locals who grew up here love Farm Basket, but for me, it was really basic. The chicken wasn't seasoned very well and was slightly soggy. It was sort of like KFC original but KFC is more flavorful. The cook was pretty good, I assume because of the pressure frying, but it was really underseasoned. The sides were also bland and plain. I got the Cole slaw and mashed potatoes and frankly KFC, Popeyes, and Bojangles all have better sides. I can't say I recommend.

I finally got to give this place a try. I'm so surprised of the negative reviews this place has because the chicken was amazing. The fried chicken came out piping hot and so crispy. The chicken was seasoned well and side of corn was so good. The staff members were nice and provided great service. I would definitely be coming back when I have the crave for some good fried chicken. Don't skip on this spot and give this place a try!

I don't live far from this location , but I rarely make it here. The other day I decided to give them a try again for something different. I got the 4 Chicken Fingers Meal with Fries and a Lemonade. I got the Gravy instead of a sauce for the chicken. I though the last time I was here they had Pink Lemonade , but I was told no they only had the regular which was fine and it was a big cup. It came to $12.The chicken fingers were large and meaty. I remember the last time I was here the guy at the counter told me they were made fresh , not frozen and you can tell. The breading is light , but has a good flavor. The Brown Gravy I was a little disappointed with. I was like homemade , but seemed to be missing something like it needed more pepper and it didn't seem that fresh. The Fries were okay and just the right amount of salt , but a small amount for those big 4 chicken fingers. Next time I will get the Fried Chicken. I would recommend you coming here if you have never been. They have been around forever !

Heard good things about this place but we left pretty disappointed. Came a few weeks ago and tried the chicken sandwich but the bread was stale and the chicken had no crisp to it and was really dry. Decided to come back to see if the turkey was any better but it wasn't. Drier than the chicken and the bread once again was stale. The miracle whip and cranberry sauce couldn't save them. I can say that the fries were very good on each visit. The restaurant is cute and feels old timey but I don't think we'll be back again.

The food was great! We had the gobbler and cluquitos. Service was fast! We will be back!!

It's Tuesday 7/23/2024 at about 3:15 pm. Lots of free parking. The parking area was clean. They have some covered outdoor tables but it's way too hot at this time. The area was also clean. Inside was small with booth seating. Floors, tables and seating were all clean and in good repair. We were greeted by a cheerful young man. I had the two piece chicken meal with two sides for $8.99 and a fountain drink with free refills for $2.49. I didn't care for the gravy on the mash potatoes. My wife liked the potato salad. I also like the butter honey roll, but it had a bit too much butter on it. The star of the meal was the fried chicken. Like the rest of the meal, it was served up hot and fresh, juicy, tender and cooked perfectly. The seasoning was on point.

The food was great, just like back in the 70's, and the service was sweet as hell, time to go back
