I love coming to the container park in Las Vegas and I was happy to know they started to offer family movie nights. I definitely recommend. It is fun for the entire family.

Their summer movie sessions are awesome. I've been attending the past two years and I enjoy it. My little one loves it so it's a must every summer. They don't start showing until sundown which is around 8ish and they have the misters going to keep you cool during those hot summer nights. There's the playground and put out blocks and an oversized connect four game out to keep the little ones busy. I would recommend getting there early to reserve an a good spot and beware you will have to pay for parking unless you can park in the hotels near by. BIG DOWNSIDE: you can't bring outside food and they only have 4 restaurants in there which two aren't really kid friendly and you can only eat tacos and bbq so many times so if you can sneak in small snacks and drinks, all the better but you can't bring in coolers or any outside food.

Downtown Container Park hosts a Family Movie Night every Thursday night (this weekly event started in April). Movies are slated to begin around 7 to 7:30PM, although when I attended the movie didn't kick off until around 8PM. Basically they waited until sunset to start the movie. Families are invited to bring blankets and chairs and spread out across the grassy area in front of the projection screen. The movie is set up towards the rear of the park, behind the large playground and in front of the stationary train. To help patrons endure the heat, large fans with misters are placed on both sides of the grassy area. I wouldn't say the fans helped much, though. On this occasion, Ghostbusters was playing and it was a full house. I'd recommend coming early to ensure you get a good spot. Here's the upcoming schedule for August:8/6 - Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom8/13 - Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade8/20 - Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull 8/27 - The Dark Knight RisesProjection quality and volume was perfectly fine. Even the kids were well behaved. I'd definitely recommend Family Movie Night to, well, families lol. It's a 100% free event and would make for a cheap night out.YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2015: #235

We have been to several family movie nights at container park, but this by far was the coldest. How appropriate with the feature being The Polar Express. The temp during the movies was in the mid 40s. Burr! Because of the temp is most likely why the lower attendance. During the summer months they play movies on what seems to be a weekly on Thursdays schedule. Otherwise they will include family movie night for special events or when kids are out of school. Always before the feature begins they have boxes that kids can customize and repurpose into their own personal space to give the movie a drive in type of setting. This is always fun to watch the creative side of children's imagination flourish. Fun times will be had at family movie night. Don't forget to stop by one of the great bar and or restaurants for drinks and snacks during your movie experience.

Had no intention of the movie in the park. It just happened to be playing while I was eating dinner on the balcony at Perch. It looked really fun and I have every intention of taking my daughter back for it.
