Ellis Island BBQ

This is a real meal deal!! BBQ CHICKEN AND RIBS with sides! Thats the menu! It is a must GO for most of our guests. Comes with sides and great service. Reasonably priced, better with a players card discount. Food is basically all prepared so it's a fast deliver to table. Highly recommend and ENJOY.

Kind of stumbled across this restaurant when we couldn't get into the Front Yard at the same casino. It was late and we knew there would be long lines if we went somewhere else so we decided to give it a try. We only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table so that was a plus! Our server was quick to greet us and get us our drinks. I saw a few different plates come out and I decided to give the rack of root beer sauced baby back ribs a try. I cook a ton of bbq at home so I know doing good ribs at a restaurant is tough. Ribs can get over cooked very easily if they have been sitting in an oven to keep them warm so I was curious to see how these would taste. When the ribs came out they had a nice coat of sticky bbq sauce on top. The bbq sauce was definitely root beer forward and amazing! The ribs still had a little chew to them and weren't falling off the bone, which is exactly how you want them to be! These ribs definitely exceeded my expectations! That's where the good things end unfortunately. The ribs were served with two halves of corn, bbq beans, coleslaw and some Texas garlic bread. The two halves of corn on the cob had been sitting in warm water for a long time, leaving them bland and not good at all. No amount of butter and salt could save these soggy corns. The Texas style bread was hard as a rock and I wasn't able to take a bite. The beans had an overwhelming onion flavor that detracted from the actual bean flavor and I only ate about half the small cup. I'm not a huge coleslaw fan so I didn't even try this restaurants version. Overall the ribs were killer but everything else lacked the same great flavor.

3.5 starsService: good, not overly attentiveAmbiance: casualFood: a solid 3.5 stars. Decent bbq, and at an even better price. Beans are good, but the other sides are a miss. Cons: Frozen corn, the bread isn't toasted, and the cole slaw is heavy on the mayo, and I mean SATURATED. Overall, we will be back, and understand we get what we paid for. It's good for when you have a taste for bbq and want it to be affordable.

First time after many years, ( before they got transferred to the cafe area) the quality of food has changed dramatically. Everything tastes pre cook , dry nothing close enough to the fresh stuff they used to serve.... The only positive points.... Lots of food for cheap prices $But I prefer quality over quantity I don't think I will come back

All that's available are various combinations of only three items on the menu: a half BBQ chicken, a half and full rack of ribs. I had food envy as most everyone seated around me had ordered giant plates of food but I was practical and opted for the half rack of ribs. I am a huge eater but it was more than I could finish.Ribs were delicious, tender, and basted with that sweet bbq sauce that caramelized nicely on the grill. Meats are served with baked beans, two cobs of corn, a slice of foccacia, and a cup of coleslaw which was my least favorite part of the meal. I usually love coleslaw but no big deal, I definitely wasn't here for the vegetables! Hand your server your active Players Club card for a $3 discount on an already inexpensive dinner! This place is a total winner. Yum!

Love love love. I grew up going to this restaurant with my parents and was absolutely devastated the day they changed it to 21+. I had to wait about 8 years to make my return to the Ellis island bbq. Once I turned 21, it was one of my first stops. Best ribs in town for sure, they have definitely earned that honor. At a great price too, under $20 for a full rack of ribs and plenty of sides

YUM....did I mention YUM !!!Got here when they opened one day and was immediately seated. The location is inside the Ellis island casino toward the rear. There are plenty slots to play while waiting for it to open or waiting to be seated. The menu is quite basic but exactly what you would want from a bbq restaurant. Now onto the food. Sorry I didn't take pics because it looked so good I could not wait to eat it.The full rack of ribs just fell off the bone. The sauce was delicious along with the beans and Cole slaw which accompanied the plate. My bbq chicken was flavorful and tender. Our pitcher of beer was ice cold. Yes this place is inside a casino but wow the food is truly amazing.I look forward to returning. See you again soon !!!

My regular trip to Ellis Island bbq. We got a exceptional waitress this time, I'm not saying the others were any worse but this newer waitress was exceptionally attentive and very good.I can't say any different from my past times that I have been here. The food has always been consistently great for a rib joint just off the strip. The only difference is the portions have gotten smaller in time, not that anyone would have noticed but I'm just aware that has happened. The ribs used to be bigger, the corn was larger, little things that go unnoticed by others but I certainly can tell and the price has gone up ever so slightly. Still a wonderful place to visit if you like good food at a decent price and close to the strip.

Well this WAS our go to place for ribs for years. The old barbecue restaurant is gone and replaced by slot machines. The barbecue is now served in the cafe. The ribs we had are not the same. We're dry and chewy, the bread was dry, the corn a little soggy but the baked beans were good. Safe to say we will not be back especially living in the northwest of Las Vegas. Not worth the trip across the Strip. My friend also went for the ribs a week ago and felt the same way about the ribs.
