On the corner of 3rd Street and Stewart remains the remodeled train stain once part of the original Union Pacific. Perhaps a fitting place to hold a weekly farmer's market. As for many people the train station was the first grounds they stepped foot onto in Nevada. As the Main Street Station and Union Plaza expanded the trains brought In many walks of Life. From railroad workers to gold rush miners. Farmers sharing their products to vendors sharing their talents.Anyone with spare change in their pockets and a little hope in their hearts. A dream to chase along with a whole lot of spirit. Perhaps that is where the old term, Spirit of the Old Wild West came from.Today those same station grounds are still accompanied by spirited locals heeding the calls of the Great Wild West.Hence the meaning Spiritual Grounds. As every farmer would agree. The true enrichment of their finest produce come from the roots of their ground.

It's gone. There is no farmers market. It's been closed up and doors chained up. The homeless in the area had over run it according to a security guard so they permanently closed up.

Beautiful day to head downtown Las Vegas to the anticipated Farmers Market located at 300 N Casino Center off of Stewart Ave. Open Fridays 9am-2pm.There were a few vendors on the sidewalk selling homemade jewelry and other crafts, plus a Dj playing some good tunes! We came for the fresh produce. Once inside there were only about 5 vendors. 5 Star for the actual produce, but only 4 Stars because I was hoping for a larger selection. Was a bit disappointed, but glad I went and got to see what it was all about.I will definitely go back as I ate a nice lunch at home with all my fresh produce. Doesn't get much better then home grown, organic food from the earth!Check it out some Friday if you have the time, free parking and plenty of spaces.

Great local market trying to help every vendor with making their dreams come true, tons of parking, open space and very community-oriented vibe.

After viewing some of the pix, its obvious that I keep going on bad days! Either that, or the market has just went downhill. (First visit was almost a year ago). But, I did go just last weekend, & again, not impressed. Bad, overpriced produce. Walked away with some honey & kettle corn. My friend got some meat, beans & rice from the jamaican out front for $10, but he said it was bleh. I do try to buy local as much as possible, and the vendors are very nice. But I'm not interested in overpriced, low quality produce. Wilted fruits & veggies I have no desire for. At least it wasn't a total waste of a trip since my bf got to buy some honey. But I definitely did NOT see the selection that you're seeing in some of those pictures!

YELP 365 CHALLENGE 2014-(262/365) "Pretty Slim Pickins"Very small selection of items and vendors here. Not too busy inside as well.Parking is free, and pop up restaurants change in the back area. This time, it was a tamale joint, and the tamales were pretty good, but on the small side for $5. We also got some local honey, Concord Grapes, and a bag full of Shishito Peppers for $2.Most vendors have samples of their produce out for you to taste before purchasing which is great, but this farmers market just seems like its lacking variety and peoplelike the more popular farmers markets around town. ALOHA!!!Shaka Meter: \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ 3

This might sound weird but I LOVE how petite this market is. The last time I frequented farmers markets was in California where the market was like a mile long and it was a bit of a chore to get in and out and choose which vegetables you were going to buy from the hundred different stalls. Abundance is good and everything but sometimes you don't need so much. The Downtown LV market on the other hand has free parking right out front and one central area showcasing one rack of each vegetable (but with plenty of different types of vegetables to choose from). So you can get in, choose your produce, and get out without hassle. There are also fun extras like a cold brew coffee station (the coffee is DELICIOUS), a kettle corn grill, and a sauce company that has amazing fresh sauces and salsas. The fresh bread baker has the best bread in town. The location near the old casinos is kind of fun too if you get there early and want to go on a quarter-slot spree.

This is one of the better farmers markets in Vegas. Moving from California, this is nothing like Ca Farmers Markets, as there are not many farmers in/around Vegas. Most of the food is brought in from California. On Fridays, there are some local farms and other local products. This market also started opening on Saturday as well. On Saturday, there was just the main seller with produce that did not sell on friday still available, there were no other booths/farmers available. So for the best selection, go early on Friday, and skip the Saturday market unless you absolutely cant make it on Friday.

I am super disappointed. Waaaa! I was hoping to find a gem market that I could buy affordable local produce, food, breads, etc. Parking was easy. There weren't many vendors only 9-10. The produce had a decent selection but a bit pricey. I picked up a jar of local honey for $10. The honey man was a fast talking sales man and too pushy, but okay since I like how yummy it is. The garden they have is sort of cool but not well kept. I wish Las Vegas had more of a community in this area to have markets. It made me sad.

Finally made it to the farmar after weeks of oversleeping and general laziness. SO GLAD that I did (my wallet is a little angry with me though).First, I love that there were so many food trucks there as well as farmer/local merchant stands.... I got a SOY LATTE!! from Grouchy John's to start my morning, then wistfully looked at the Love Grub tacos and tots and Rusty Pickle's (VEGAN! confirmed) fried pickles... but I was strong and made my way into veggie heaven.....My old CSA Quail Hollow was there reppin' with all kinds of veg - including sorrel, which I'd never tried. It's so lemony! Who knows what I'll do with it, but I have a giant bag now. They also sell "juicing kits," pre-selected fruit/veg mixes for juicing -- I got a bag w/ carrots, kale, cukes, celery and apple. Genius!Of course, I had to get a loaf of Bon Bread and some Colorado River Coffee Roasters coffee (from Artisanal Foods stand, who will be opening a cafe there soon!). I even got a vegan oatmeal cookie! I ran out of cash before I could buy vegan tamales, blood oranges, Chef Marc's fresh pasta or fancy mushrooms... but those are on the list for next time! This is definitely the best farmar in town. I hope to have a Friday off at some point so I can really enjoy lunch there with the food trucks. Another great addition to the downtown revival.A few of the foodtrucks take credit cards, but almost all of the indoor vendors accept cash only, so come prepared!!
