We make a point of visiting at least once a year and especially enjoy the street of vintage houses from different eras decorated to each home's period of time.

This place is a very sad excuse for a museum. It's as if someone from the county said "hey we got all this crap lying around, let's make a museum and charge people to see all our crap."Now getting here was a bit of a challenge because this was way out in Henderson, NV, which is nowhere near vegas. You really need to have your own car to get here as there is no public transportation. But it was still a challenge because GPS lead us to the wrong location.Outside of the main building they have the little desert garden with native plants. Not much there but it was at least passable. They they have these old houses that they recreated to look post war era. This was complete with creepy mannequins as well. Then you can check out their train depot with several cars to explore. There there was the main exhibit inside the main building. It was part natural history and part las vegas history. the wood paneling and the crappy sound system felt straight out of a 1980s field trip experience. I'm sorry but Clark County deserves a much better museum than this. It should be far better accessible with far more things to see. And please do something about that God awful sound system.

It's a gem of a museum I visit during the holidays annually. A lot of history. A lot to see and learn about. During December there is the bonus of holidays decorations added to the Heritage Street homes! Some exhibits with the museum are permanent, but a portion of the museum has a changing exhibit space. For example, when I visited December of 2024, there was a Vintage Toys exhibit at the time. Amazingly very inexpensive general admission costs too! Typically it does not stay open late at all (except with special events).

A stroll in time dating back to the early 1800's hundreds -- this museum is settled in Henderson, Nevada. There's several homes that have been refurbished. The houses depict the traditional family homes across the valley over the decades. Each house has a lengthy history. From the furniture to the window panels there are tons of stuff to sift through. My personal favorite is the printing press room. They display typewriters, a massive press, and so much more. I also really enjoyed the historical context provided by the museum in each of the many homes. Very family friendly and good idea for early morning before the major heat.

If you want to find some old Vegas history and travel back in time the Clark County Museum is the place to be. Located in Henderson on S. Boulder Hwy and self parking free of charge & price to get in was VERY reasonable $2 for adults $1 for kids and seniors First glimpse into the inside museum your not quite sure about how cool it is BUT give it time before you judge head outside and follow the path on the map you are given and you won't be disappointed. You see what life was like in real life displays dating back to the 1800s going inside a train and train station and into some old house with old time views, decoration, and history lessons. It's pretty awesome and definitely worth a day trip

If you have never been in the Clark County Museum before and wondered where you might find it ... well, it's located in Henderson, south on Boulder Highway. This is a great place to spend the day and look at some amazing historical exhibits. There is a very little fee to pay when you enter the museum. At the front, you can find a tiny shop too, where you'll be able to purchase gifts, books, and other goods. The museum consists the Exhibit Center, Nature Trails & Ghost Town, Heritage Street, and the Mojave Desert Gardens. I loved the historical journey from the Ice Age to the Age of Entertainment! The timeline chronicles the history and culture of the ancient Pueblo and the more recent Paiute, the first Anglo pioneers and their daily lives ...You are free to walk through the ghost town buildings ... the nature trails ... You must stay on the trails! Enjoyed walking around the Heritage Street of historic homes ... One of the buildings consists the Donald W. Reynolds Print Shop (replica, 1900) This print shop houses original printing equipment including the Intertype typesetting and composition machine, a large Babcock cylinder printing press! Don't touch the ink on the press cylinder or frame, it's only 65 years old and hasn't dried yet! So much to explore here and learn about our history! I will be back again for sure!

Take a trip back into this live Time Capsule. Pay at the front gift shop, admission is $1-2. Self-guided tours, so you can take your time in taking it all in. Make sure the weather is clear enough for you to walk outdoors and explore the different houses over 100 years old! Donated by real families that remain apart of Nevada's history. Start with the immersive indoor tour of the complete history of what makes Nevada what it is today. Grab a Scavenger map from the gift shop for kids - it's free and interactive (they even get a prize for returning the pencil to the front - big win for the kids). Give yourself about an hour or two to explore the grounds outside the museum. Genuine mining carts and equipment. To the old city jail cell. Cool recommendation for the little explorers :)
