The original of the Chubby Cattle group, Chubby Cattle hot pot. Born in Vegas and now all over states , Chubby Cattle Bbq, Mikiya, Niku X and etc. I've been coming here when I crave for hotpot since they opened, so for about 10 years now. I guess this review is way overdue. This is the only Chinese hot pot place I would eat in Vegas aside from Mikiya is more like shabu shabu. I've been to many hot pot places in Cali, not to mention I grew up eating hot pot, I can vouch for their broth. Not sure how healthy it is but It is definitely one of the best in tasting. Ambiance: after they remodeled, there's no more private room is what I was told. Most booths would fit 4 people. Not great for big groups as you would be separated into several tables. It seems a bit dark inside but nice enough for hotpot restaurant. Service: we had Nell Y last night and she was very pleasant. She was attentive and friendly. She is more attentive than the last server we got a few months ago. Food: I've tried several broths. Broth: Tomato oxtail, numbing tomato and golden chicken pot are my favorite. If you like spicy which I do too, hellish spicy medium is a good level. Not too spicy and it has a very intense cumin flavor along with a slight numbing pepper taste. However, you would need to pick out all the peppers on top. That's pretty standard for most Szechuan style hotpot. Meat: I enjoy brisket more so than short rib. It doesn't break part too fast and it has a good flavor to the meat. Beef tongue was ok. I also like shrimp paste where you can make a fresh shrimp balls. Veggies and etc: I love tong ho, bak Choi, tofu skin, frozen tofu, wood ear mushrooms, taro, lotus root and mushrooms combo etc. Definitely one of the fun part for Chinese hotpot vs Shabu where you can cook basically any ingredients you enjoy eating. Sauce: my go to sauce, 1. Mushroom sauce, soy sauce, sesame paste, garlic, hot oil, chili, vinegar, cilantro and green onion. 2. Chinese bbq sauce (sacha), soy sauce, vinegar, garlic and cilantro. I like that they have sacha sauce as many places don't have that. This place would be five star in my book if they have small appetizers like they once had on top of the sauce bar. Haidilao and Laomatou have those appetizers and fruit bar, and I think that makes it for fun while you wait for hotpot to cook. Also, the new pots on top of the table are much smaller now as opposed to the pots they had before. Overall, there's no other hot pot place in Vegas is better than Chubby Cattle Chinese hotpot broth and the top notch beef quality. We brought friends from Cali to try it and they loved it too. If you haven't tried it, I'd recommend you give it a shot!

It's a no frill place for hot pot. The self service conveyer belt was convenient. You could get fish balls, tofus, and other sides throughout the meal versus having to order all at once, and crowd the table like other newer hotpot establishments. The quality of the meat was decent (but I'm not super picky with hotpot proteins). If you're not super picky about the cut and want a quick no frill place to enjoy a casual hot pot meal, this is the place for you.

The food was well presented and a fair value. The service was not prompt - took some time for the meal to be delivered and we had some difficulty getting a hold of help due to one of the cooktops being out of order. Some reconfiguring of our party of 5 was needed due to the cooktop not working. The tables are quite small for a table of 5, but a separate stand was provided to hold the additional trays. Disappointed by the sauce bar. Paper bowls were provided (would have expected durable dishes), and the bar wasn't stocked with cilantro (looks like it just ran out and wasn't re-stocked). Adding additional add-ons took time since it took some time to flag down staff each time. We did this twice during our meal. It also took us some time to flag down someone for our check.The staff are friendly and professional. Just didn't seem like there were enough in the dining room this evening. We think we'll stick with Chubby Cattle's Korean BBQ in future. This hot pot experience was disappointing.

I've been coming to Chubby Cattle for years--sometimes five times a week, no joke. It's easily one of my favorite spots in Vegas. I've introduced so many friends to it, including people who had never tried hot pot before, and now they're hooked. Even when people visit from out of town, this is always at the top of their list.I'm pretty sure I'm one of their best customers at this point if not their best. The food is always great, and the service is solid. Big shoutout to T, one of our favorite waiters--always takes amazing care of us.

Just got back from Chubby Cattle. It was our first time, and it was so worth the price! We had a dinner for two for $99, which came with A5 Wagyu, choice of two meats, bibimbap, veggies and mushrooms and tofu and seafood, two drinks, and two desserts. Our server Jia was so kind and attentive with plenty of suggestions. Big thanks to him! Also, do yourself a favor and try the tomato oxtail broth!
