I have to update my review. I have been here for theatre, opera, and dance performances. Seating is comfortable and sight lines are good wherever you choose to sit. I came here for a special Juneteenth Black Swan Hour program put on my Vegas City Opera. Before the show, I got a chance to view their annual art contest. This is special about this Arts Center--even when there isn't a large art display, there is a small gallery that almost always has art to enjoy.Ticketing is done by the City of Las Vegas using the Ovation Tix platform and having your ticket on the phone is super easy and convenient. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. We are fortunate to have spaces like this run by the city and/or county. It really makes our community richer!

Seriously, what is wrong with people? I noticed that Romeo and Juliette was going to be performing tonight so I bought tickets on line for hubby and myself. I was really looking forward to the show. The theater itself is older, but one I've been to many times in the past and really do appreciate. The parking lots were pretty full, but still ample room. We made our way inside and were surprised when our Row C tickets were actually the first row!I was happy to be in the first row as I had no obstructions. The first half of the show was excellent - everyone did such a great job. I was really enjoying listening to the dialogue and watching the actors perform. After intermission my hubby went to stretch his legs and we talked and he decided to sit in the back of the theater. Boy was I going to miss him ....First off without hubby next to me and blocking (obnoxious people) for me I feel really let down. First off, there was a young woman 3 seats away from me who sat in the front row of the theater chewing on her fingers and picking nail polish off her nails the whole time! She would then just spit the nail polish out. Three times she turned my way and just stared at me! Yes???There was a young girl sitting behind me that couldn't stop yawning throughout the whole second half and not covering her mouth. I kept smelling her corn nuts breath and was really irritaited as I'm sure my body language would tell! The large man who had been sitting next to her moved to the side seats of the theater to sleep obviously as he soon began snoring so loud he could've beat the band!! What a mess , he was all spread out in the chair. And ... lastly there was a person sitting in the side seat area who had purchased a bag of popcorn. The crumbling of the paper bag was the final straw! Every few seconds they couldn't wait to dig their hand back in the noisy bag.Wonderful performance - wish I could've been more engaged. This whole experience tonight with people has really got me feeling happy I'm 58 years old. My patience is way too thin for what's coming up!!

This is a wonderful center in an older part of town. This classic building is still kept up. It's very clean and doesn't appear to be rundown at all. Here, they will have a wide variety of events, including art shows displaying all sorts of artwork from local artists, as well as plays, dances, and other performances in their theater. They also have many classes in art, acting, singing, and more. There are several rooms, some very large, which can accomodate community group and club meetings. They have also hosted graduation ceremonies for various law enforcement academies. It's a very nice building with quite a few amenities. I was here today to view the Celebrating Life 2022 art show. It never ceases to amaze me the wonderful artists we have here in Las Vegas.

"The Little Gallery that Could"I write this little Yelp review having never seen a performance, attended a function or even used the restroom at the Charleston Heights Arts Center (although this might be a person's reason to stop in if they were centrally located in the Vegas valley when nature calls). I write this little review for my love of the "the little gallery that could" located inside this facility. Getting notifications via email from the City of Las Vegas Arts & Culture Office, I am reminded what new pieces are hanging on these walls from time to time. And just like a person might stop for a cup of coffee on the go, this is my cup of art on the go. I make it a point to squeeze in a stop on purpose on my list of any random day if I am in the area....go to bank, go to yoga class, pick up cat from vet, stop into CHAC to look at art, grab a coffee, be home by 5pm to meet Fed Ex. The space itself is quite small, but what is always installed is very specific and concentrated in theme, material and artist (usually only one artist or a couple, if that). Even with the most interesting installations, I am maybe in and out in 15 minutes. Parking is like right there in the lot out front and always available. There is always a perky person at the reception desk as an added bonus. Take a right past the receptionist and you have arrived at what I like to call "The Little Gallery that Could." Just like grabbing a skinny vanilla latte as a perk to one's day, take a quick stop at the CHAC and peak at the engaging thoughtful art and know you have fueled your soul just a bit that day. Better yet, sign up for through the City of Las Vegas to get the email notifications yourself and be in the art loop in our community.

Really interesting and fun place in the community. They offer fine arts classes in everything from painting to crafting to theater to dance. They are good, too. They have tons of options for younger folks, but adults, too. They are probably most famous for their young people's theater program, "Rainbow Company." The Arts Center also presents shows by professionals, too. I've seen a concert, and a historical one-woman show here. They also have juried art exhibits, and there is a little exhibition room for art there. There are also dances here! Like at Valentine's Day. And there are other delights, too.The location is not bad, right off Charleston on a little side street called, "Brush." There are shuttles here from local old folks' homes. You shouldn't be afraid to come here, but I would come with a buddy and lock my car door for one of the night events. It's a bit dark and the pavement in the parking lot can be a bit uneven, and it's not the most welcoming neighborhood, fyi. But it is a treasure of art and embracing one's culture and talent here. Well-run and well-managed, and relatively inexpensive.

We went to a free showing of "Meet me in St. Louis" here and the staff was very nice and I think surprised as well, being that I was the 2nd youngest person in the theatre....the youngest being my 3 year old son. I love classical movie plus musicals, but I tend to not be able to concentrate when I watch them in the comfort of my own home. So I like going out and watching them. I hope they have more of these type of things, and I have even thought about taking some sort of class here.
