Catalina Island Bar

It's a convenient bar. Sean is not very nice. Josh is great. The bartenders seem unconcerned with their jobs. This is a service industry. Gamblers are losing money to pay for the lights and the salaries. Why should people come play and pay for drinks from burned out bartenders? It's just another issue in Vegas that doesn't make sense. There are few bartenders who are nice. The decor is standard western and Italian influenced garden and columns themed, nothing special.

Great place to hang out if your tired of gambling it's right in the middle of the South point casino floor. Lots of TVs to watch the game and bar too poker machines

Nestled into a small alcove this little bar sits on the isle that serves as a haven for the best drinks and highest jackpots!Let's stay ashore, grab a refreshing drink, and see where the night takes us!Having frequently been a patron at the Catalina it was the from boys from LA in town that said: "Hey don't you need to check in!" Ive got them Yelp trained. Learning that this bar has become a sort of beacon for us when they are in town we will have many more adventures here!Calm and comfortable is the vibe of the Catalina. Blackjack was the name of the game and the Bud Lights were what was keeping the fun going. The guys were playing blackjack at those video casino monitors what was mounted into the bar. Know that when you continue to gamble the drinks that you order are free, since your gambling. The minimum for the free drinks to start off with is an Andrew Jackson. The bartenders just kept them coming while they played. The service here is amazing and highly specialized. The first round was on the house, but since the guys just started drinking today those Bud Lights went really fast. I got us another round still sticking with beer. The bartender was fantastic and very attentive noticing that we the bottles were empty. The Catalina was really busy too, but this bartender had the moves of a magical fairy. His wings must of been hiding but he was so light on his feet the way he moved around the bar. In no time I had a check and three more Bud Lights. Surprise surprise too the beer here even when you have to pay for it yourself with gambling is only $4 a bottle. That's reasonable for sure. Not only do they have beer on the tap or in a glass bottle, they make mixed drinks here too. Primarily it's beer and more beer that is served here. I had a strawberry daiquiri in round three or four. The missed drinks are delicious here. South Pointe has a mixed drink list that features three to four drinks that are always $4.00. One of these said drinks tastes just like a Long Island iced T. Enjoy beer or mixed cocktails here.Odds are pretty good at South Pointe the longer that you play at the casino games the better you get at playing, plus it increases your chances of winning. Many ask is it worth that Andrew Jackson that you slip into the machine to get that free drink. Please gamble responsibly, my advice is free and I am sharing my experiences with gambling here at the Catalina. Remember you can cash out after placing that 20 in the machine, just remember to tip your bartender. Trust me they will make it worth your while. Rodeo fever has overtaken South Pointe for the next week or so. It is amazing that I can still walk up to the bar and order a drink with no issue. The bartenders here must remember us regulars, which is true. The service here is unbiased I have seen the same bartenders help those cowboys too. It does not matter if your a regular, a cowboy or a cowgirl the service here is great and top notch for everyone. Although, I have noticed that the bartender will handle us ladies drinks first before the guys. Sorry boys it's just the code!The service this bar is superior for sure. Frequently, I get my drink poured here, then I'm off to gamble or watch the games in the sports book. After coming to the bar so often the staff behind the bar is way more attentive to your drinking needs. I appreciate the steadiness of the bartenders here. It's not just with us regulars, the same "regular" service is continued if you come over and over again. A gent while I was ordering my drink yesterday remarked that they remember who you are. I asked this gent, "what he meant!" He went into a spiel that basically said that its part of a bartenders job description to know how many you have had for safety, plus great tippers always stand out. For the best service really at any bar is a decent tip!Come and stay here at the island or grab your drink and go to the next watering hole. Which ever you do the Catalina Island is always here for you. The staff is amazing and can fulfill all of your drinking needs. The televisions can keep one up to date on your games. Make sure and look down once in a while to ensure that you won blackjack. Eventually it will be time for another round. Cheers to you and yours!

This is a great bar to hang out at. I meet one of my friend's here often when he is in town. The bartenders are great, very attentive. The video poker machines are always a hit or miss here. They have a fully stocked bar. My friend has been drinking shots of Fernet tonight....what the heck is that? I've never heard of it but this place has it. I LOVE the crush ice they have here. This bar seems to always be busy but not to busy to deliver excellent customer service! Great job guys!! Thank you! Love that they have my Blueberry Vodka too!

Hands down, this is my favorite bar inside of South Point Casino. The bartenders are very cool and relaxed. I even have one guy that's my particular favorite because he always can get me to laughing about something or another. The prices are decent to be a casino, and the machines actually pay pretty well most of the time.

Good bar- fully stocked. If you get the free drink coupon at checking into the hotel you can use it here. Although we did notice that if you are gambling on the video machines you still get charged $2 for a drink. Not bad but what happened to comp drinks?

My friend and I are visiting from GA and staying at the Grand Viewresort- and visited Catalina Island Bar & upon touring, realized good customer service was scarce. As we sat down at the bar we were promptly greeted with smiles from Romeo & Joshua!! Their great service definitely wants me to return to this bar just for their attentive service & hospitality!! I highly recommend this bar & these bartenders!!

If your not a staff regular or a fimilar face. You are definitely treated accordingly. And the tax on a bottle of beer? Hilarious 99% of barsñ it's included in the price. NOT HERE. food is not better than Roberto's

Played for 30 minutes at the bar, was not offered a drink by the bartenders who ignored us while servings to others. Midnight on Wednesdays are not for us apparently.

Your average casino bar. The South Point is a great place to spend an off night playing video poker or relaxing for a few drinks. For me, it is within walking distance of my home so there is no need to worry about the trip home.Generally, the bars at the South Point are very generous about their comps. You can gamble a relatively small amount and drink a relatively large amount. The only reason that I don't give this place five stars is that they get so crazy packed on some nights that the staff can't keep up.
