Authentic flavor. Great food, service and ambiance. We loved this place and will be back.

La carne hurled mal, el service es muy bueno, son muy arables y atentos pero la carne ya no es tan de calidad como era antes, definitely no volvere el tejuino super salado

Hey I have been here once before and it was nothing special came back a second time to review and give it another shot. If you live near the area this place is great it's close and it's Cozy. They have inside dining which isn't huge or for groups inside at the least. Outside dining is idea for large party's. They do have fans and overhead misters which are a plus. It is also shaded and quite clean for being outside off the main road. The food seems fairly priced being around $10 up to $25. We were sat quick being it was slow at the moment and got drinks pretty quick. For 5 sodas it was 25$ seems a bit high for drinks. I ordered their famous torta ahogadas but it was nothing special. The torta bread was really hard almost tasted stale. The carnita didn't have too much flavor at all. And it was drenched it's some kind of red tomato salsa. I also ordered the tacos canasta mixed. They're was also nothing special didn't taste authentic or like others I have had before. And the filling inside was very minimal hardly anything in them. Paired with pickled onions which I can say they were pretty good the onions I mean. And we also got their tacos dorados either carnita meat ontop. Their tacos were crispy / crunchy and over nothing spectacular. My honest opinion I would not return here for the carnitas being there are tons of better options around. But if you live in the area where transportation might be the isssue then this location would be perfect for you. Staff was friendly and polite. They have men and women restroom located outside the establishment they are clean and stocked. I would suggest a few more options being added to the menu for kids.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon for a quick lunch. The inside of this place is small so I see why they extended an outdoor area. We ordered the 1lb of meat (carnitas, buche, y chicharrones) that came with 6 tortillas and various toppings including onions, cilantro, and limes. We also ordered tacos de frijoles y papas. The meat here is delicious and definitely met my expectations. They are known for their tortas so will need to try that on my next visit. Service was a bit slow to give us our menus. We sat and browsed the menu on their yelp page. Once the server came to greet us, we had already decided on what to order but our food arrived quickly. Overall, great food and worth the hype

I found myself on the Eastside for an appointment. I knew to wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to have a Mexican specialty. Found Carnitas y Tortas Ahogadas Guadalajara on Yelp. It's Torta Tuesday and the Carnitas Torta is buy one and the second one is free! So happy I ordered two the most delicious Flan. The carnitas are delicious seating inside a crispy bolillo. Pickled red onions and a lime on the side. The most delicious sauce and house made hot sauce. I loved it!The service is superb and the store is clean. Nice patio seating and plenty of free parking.

Our family has been going here for a few years so I can't believe this is my first review but if you find yourself on this side of town like we did with Vegas's crazy wind yesterday this place will hit the spot. Traditionally known for its Tortas Ahogadas which is a a hot sub that gets drenched in a delicious red sauce (must try) we come here for the Consomé (broth/soup) & birria tacos. This place always has hand made tortillas which just adds to the overall foodie experience. I love the variety of salsas they provide as well. Our customer service has always been nice. They are family owned and can get pretty busy with weekends so you can except a small wait sometimes. They do offer outdoor covered seating. I hope you give it a try !

Soooo good. Truly cannot go wrong with anything on their menu.We got the Thursday special of 2 for 1 tacos dorados. We paid extra for carnitas added. The tacos are stuffed with potato, extra crispy even with the sauce. Topped high with carnitas, cabbage and delicious pickled onions. So good. And we had a torta ahogada. Just perfection! The carnitas are so flavorful and tender. Great service and super fast! But the good feels like it's definitely not rushed. Recommend it to anyone who loves tortas ahogadas.

Food and the service is great and the aqua frescas are bomb, do recommend this spot for a lunch dinner or Antojito if craving some Savory food. Great spot!!

This was my first time eating at Carnitas y Tortas Ahogadas Guadalajara. We came as a group of 10 on a Saturday afternoon and was seated immediately (with the choice of inside or outside) and we chose outside. There are water misters above the outdoor seating which was really nice considering that it was 97°. Upon sitting down, the waiters took down our drink orders immediately. Torta Ahorgada Con Carnitas -- 4.5/5. Prior to ordering I thought it would be super soggy and hard to eat due to all of the sauce however I was completely wrong. Yes the sauce was poured over the Torta and yes, the Torta was sitting in a plate full of sauce however the bread was still nice and crunchy. The pickled onions complimented the Torta very well. Birria De Chivo (Goat) -- 4/5. Goat meat is typically more on the gamey side so if you aren't a fan, just order beef. But personally I'm fine with goat meat. Served with fresh handmade tortillas and lime/cilantro/onions/pickled veggies. The Chico size was perfect for one person. There are 4 house sauces assuming the red was the spiciest (it was a great combo with the birria)I would definitely recommend eating here especially if you want to get away from the strip vibes. The restaurants located about 15 minutes away from the strip. There isn't music playing out in the outdoor seating so it's definitely nice to get a more peaceful experience versus everything available on the strip.

I'm a sucker for carnitas.. good carnitas that is. This place hit the spot. Shared with 2 friends and it was more then enough for us as we ordered a side of rice and beans. The order also came with lime, cilantro, onions, jalapeños and carrots. Some carnitas at other places come a bit dry but this was not the case here. They also have 4 different salsas with different heat levels. The habanero and red salsa, which seemed to be Chile de arbol salsa were my favorite. They have a special for tortas Ahogadas on Tuesday so that will be the next thing I try here ! Oh.. service was so attentive and quick!
