The Prime Rib Dinner that once was very popular at the California Hotel Casino for $9.99 is now $17.99 and too tough to eat. Very ,very tough. Then I went to play video poker. Put $100 in the machine and the bill was returned?. A guard standing by said it only takes old bills? And said to press the service button. I waited for service and was told the macho was full and would not take any more bills . So I left without playing. Can a place like this survive in Las Vegas??v

We've been staying @ the RV park steadily since 2005 @ least twice a year for periods of a week to occasionally a month, before & after our Lodge Gig in Utah which ran from Dec thru April of the following year. In the earlier times it was a fun time to visit as lot of returnees would visit & you'd make friends over the years. The Park is basicallya paved parking lot, with an upgraded shower & restroom & laundry. Security roams on a regular time schedule, as the unwanted pass thru & occasionally there is trouble & theft. It was a good place to stay as it's close proximity to Fremont St. experience, Cal. Hotel, Main St station & other Casino's. The price has risen steadily over the years, but that's inflation, & minimal at that. The Staff @ the Main St that checked you in. Lillian Araceli, Pam & others were always professional & friendly, Leo, Connie ,& all the Housekeeping staff we're always nice to visit with and all so nice & true to their jobs. Before Covid in 2020.We enjoyed staying there. Today the park is looking the same, but lacks the previous vibe, driving thru, have not stayed there since 2020. Hope they can get improvements made to up grade the park . Love the renovation at the California Hotel. It's keeping up with the times, & now the Main St Station needs one. It has showed it's age & looking bad. Boyd for the Hawaiians that have supported you for decades , please step it up! Pics in future visit!

Not sure where the RV Park is but I damn sure know where the casino and hotel are lol. This is an older hotel that has been beautifully renovated. The staff and dealers are friendly. The place is clean and the table limits are always reasonable. Food options are great and inexpensive, which is why this place seems to keep a constant clientele coming back.I've been and stayed at many of the higher end/luxury hotels on the strip but there's something that keeps bringing me back.Maybe it's the jackpots that I win on the slots or the blackjacks that I hit just at the right time... or maybe the food at the Market Street Cafe. Whatever it is, I always make it a point to visit this place, regardless where I am staying. Thanks California Hotel and Casino for always hooking a brotha up with a room, comps and free play. Win, lose or draw, this is a great place to see.

We've lived here three years and have never made it into the California! We entered from Main Street Station and were automatically pulled in by the incredibly Aloha cafe - the size of the ramen bowls were incredible! ...they were actually the only incredible thing we saw while in the California. We walked the awkward layout, didn't find anything worth stopping for and headed back over to Main Street Station. ...at least we can say we've been there?

I wish I could give zero stars! The worse experience I've had with a hotel in Vegas. The wife and I go at least 4 times a year and this stay was just horrible. Guest services were slacking. Our shower drain was clogged and didn't realize it til after showering for a few minutes. I don't even want to think what we were standing in. I made the front desk aware of the situations and was told they would send somebody to fix it. Nobody came. Went back the next day, same result. Horrible service. Not sure who's doing the housekeeping but they aren't doing a great job either. We found an old box of Apple Jacks next to the fridge. After speaking with management, I was told there was nothing that could be done cause we reserved through a third party. Not sure what the third party has to do with their customer service so that answer was odd. I will be contacting the necessary people to sort this out because we expected a nice clean room, ended up with their worse room in the hotel.

Our room was located at the original Aloha Towers near the check-in desk and Buddha. Security was adequate throughout the Casino and upon entry to elevators leading up to the rooms. Our 9th flr accommodations sported a 50" LG flatscreen w/remote, 2 queen beds w/3 queen pillows and a nicely weighted comforter for each bed. TV/drawer/cabinet stand housed a small safe and dorm style refrigerator, plus a roomy wardrobe closet to hang clothes and store luggage. Vanity area spacious, stocked with plenty of fresh towels and a variety of toiletries to meet your needs. The shower supplied constant hot water to ease your weary bones. We could hear Fremont Street entertainment which was a bit noisy, but tolerable enough to still get a good nights rest.

The place is super clean, everything in the room is like brand new, the room has everything you need including ironing board, refrig, safe, and etc. Huge LCD TV, I think it's like 60". USB charging ports throughout. No spots on the wall or chipped paint anywhere. Covered parking is right next to the main building. Beds are comfortable with high quality sheets and pillows. I have stayed at hotels that costed me $150 to $200 more per night on and off the strip also in downtown, CH is up there in quality but costs a lot less. If CH can offer free WIFI which doesn't cost much at all, then it would kill the competitions around. I know it's a Las Vegas thing for hotels to charge WIFI, but still it would be nice to get it instead of tethering from my phone.

When you check in to this hotel don't forget to rub the belly of the Buddha at the lobby for good luck. The rooms here are pretty small as you will find out when the bellman escorts you to your room even if you don't have bags. Something about security or something. The reason I like to go to California though is because of two restaurants: Aloha Specialties (Korean chicken) and their cafe (oxtail soup).Lots of Hawaii locals come and stay at California because of travel deals. Seems to me they should just call the hotel "Hawaii," that's the theme of this hotel & casino anyways. Another factor is that this hotel is reasonably priced. Good for the budget traveler.Dealers and slot attendants are nice enough, but the cocktail waitresses here are the best. They work super hard and fast while maintaining the smiles in their hearts. Thanks always ladies!Moments away from Fremont Street (downtown). Good place to stay and try once, at least.

I love their Ox-Tail soup and old school feel of this casino! Too bad their slot machines don't drop coins to have that old school vibes of playing in downtown Las Vegas! Their waitresses at the restaurant add friendly and it has a cozy feel to its surroundings. A lot of Hawaiian visitors come and stay here and you get that Hawaii vibe with the island coolness here. The gambling here is good they have a good amount of tables and slot machines to play on. I just wish the slot machines used coins so that you can have that old school feel of how it use to be back in the days. Compared to now it's just credits on the slot machines and you end up not having any money left from what you put in the slot machines you are playing. But overall this casino is fun and they offer original Filipino/Hawaiian food! Just Mae sure you get there by 10 pm to 9am because those are the times when they serve Ox-tail soup!
