To think... moving to Las Vegas (June 2024) to find a MEXICAN BUFFET! Family-owned and operated, Cactus Mexican Buffet in Henderson, NV, offers not only incredible cuisine and friendly service, it takes me back to my childhood when my Mom would make magic in the kitchen and serve her best dishes with love. That is the same feeling I get at Cactus Mexican Buffet. Besides their regular everyday dishes (menudo, pozole', etc.), guests are treated with other great and tasty dishes guaranteed to have you coming back for more. Add to that, a Gordita and Taco Station each and every Saturday! Make Cactus Mexican Buffet your favorite go-to place when your family and friends visit from out of town, or, when you just have to have REAL HOMEMADE MEXICAN CUISINE... MADE WITH LOVE. Thank you, Jose (owner), and thank you to your 19 family members (including 3 non-family) who work tirelessly to make every guest's visit a memorable one.

My husband and I decided to try out the new Mexican Buffet in town. We are originally from Chicago, IL and been here 4 yrs and this is the 1st mexican restaurant we have been to that taste like home. It's hard to find good authentic Mexican good and this place is it. I give them 5 stars for their great food and hospitality. Family owed and homemade food made fresh everyday.

Heard about this place in tiktok and HAD to give it a try. Came all the way from central valley California! Customer service was amazing. Food was amazing! Love the fact that they serve it for you as well, it makes it more clean and faster! Overall it was amazing! Will definitely come back.It was $22 a adult! Payed about $40 for 2 people! Which is not bad AT ALL considering it an all you can eat/drink! Fancier drinks will obviously be more expensive! But if you in Vegas looking for a mexican buffet, this one will definitely be the one!

It's a 1 star if I can do a NO star I would leave that instead. I was excited to come try this place. Very disappointed in the taste of food it was definitely not worth the money spent. If I can compare this experience I would say McDonalds has flavor better then this place. Food was very blah like nothing at all. Every single food I tried was the same no flavor the salsa was sweet it's definitely not a place to come if u want good food. Save your money and try another spot. We walked in and just like that walked out . The soda from the machine was good though.

I was excited to see a new Mexican buffet. However, I was surprised to see such a limited amount of items on the buffet line. The quality is all good, and the employees put the food on your plate for you. No problem with that. However, a few of my favorite Mexican food items were missing. I mean, no tacos? Also, it's a very small dining room, so I wonder how quickly it will fill up, if it catches on. Given the limited amount of space, and the lack of the more familiar favorites, it doesn't seem like buffet material. On the plus side, the Chilaquiles were great!

Came here on a Tuesday after seeing a couple highly positive YouTube videos. Was excited to hear about a Mexican buffet in my hometown of Henderson.I knew the Yelp reviews were all over the place, either 5's or 1's. I decided to be a glass half full guy and hope for the best. Instead I found myself agreeing more with the lower scores, but they're not deserving of a 1... could make the argument for a 2 though.People are friendly but have an inexperienced vibe, like a bunch of young kids running a restaurant for their parents and the parents aren't around. Lacking the care, finesse and experience that maturity brings. The videos I watched got me excited about the flautas, tacos and chile rellenos but on this day they had none of those items! I heard about the rotating menu, but to have none of those and no enchiladas either, paying $50 for 2 is a bit disappointing to say the least for a Mexican buffet. Thankfully they had tamales otherwise it would have been a total outrage. They had 3 soups, rice, beans and a few stews. Roast chicken and "fajita" beef which was very sad -- boiled, tough and flavorless of the cheapest possible cuts of beef. The desserts were rice pudding, yogurt and churros. Churros were super stale. What a bummer. In summary I'd say it's perfectly ok to have a simple menu as long all of things on the menu are done really well. Unfortunately that's not the case. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't enough to justify that price with hardly any protein options on the buffet. This was more along the lines of a $12 value to me, but it's double that. The good news is that they're getting customers and they seem to have a concept that's high in demand for the area. They have an opportunity to make this a great spot. But they need:Bigger variety of popular items More consistency of day to day offerings, or at least a set schedule of when they feature certain items -- I'm not trying to roll the dice and hope I get lucky Put more love into their dishes -- the fajita beef was the opposite of thatIf they do those things and give off more a vibe of pleasing the customers instead of saving / making money, they could be a big hit in the neighborhood. More love in their food needed though. With that said, I'll wait a few months to see if they make some of these changes otherwise time to move on to the next.

The food is great. I especially love the tamales! The sopas and fajitas are also great. The rice tastes better than my partner's mom's. Apart from the food, the service is outstanding!

Great food, great service, ambiance was good as well. They change their menu on the daily so never the same options except for their side dishes. Mia and Daneyra were both very helpful, the food also feels very fresh and authentic. My personal favorites were the quesabirria tacos, chiles rellenos and their chicken fajitas. Overall a great experience will definitely be back again for more!

Being forced to pay a 30% gratuity for parties of 6 or more is absolutely insane! Not even high end restaurants charge this, they would do a 18% gratuity.Other than that, food was OK and the price for the buffet itself was also OK. But honestly, because we're a large family, just because of the 30% gratuity, we will not coming back.

Took my family to this Mexican Buffet. We were all impressed with the quality and variety of the food. The food was authentic as if you were eating in Mexico. The staff was kind and always gracious. The ambiance complimented the food and culture of Mexico. The music was totally traditional with Mexican themes. The restaurant was packed and all the customers had smiles showing pure satisfaction with their food. This is a brand new restaurant only being open 2 months. My feeling is that this restaurant will be growing tremendously in popularity and will be one of the top mexican restaurants in Las Vegas and Henderson.
