Big Sur Oyster Bar

We visited this bar when the roping championship was going on. The wait time was about an hour but they good thing is that you can add your phone number with the host and they will text you when your table is ready. Food was good and service was fast. The place is open directly on the casino floor so you can see and hear all the noise from there but if that doesn't bother you this place is good.

Stayed at South Point hotel and we tried this place for late night snacks. . Their oyster Rockefeller was not fresh. Despite the cheese and everything else that they used to smother the oysters, I could still tell that they're not fresh at all.The salad dressing (cranberry and lemon) looked like a strawberry yogurt. Clam chowder tasted like it was a canned chowder. Service was okay.Location is convenient because it is located inside the hotel.

eating here is a HUGE mistake. the other oyster bar locations in Vegas are at least 5x better. caesar salad was full of hair so we sent it back and they made a huge deal out of it with casino security? kitchen staff and server have 11/10 service BUT they have a manager named veronica, WOW made me feel like I was begging her for a salad. She made zero sense and we, our waiter and the security guard were very confused about the nature of her actionspan roast 4/10salad 0/10

It was an okay place to use up your casino points. Gumbo was good but was mostly sausage and not enough seafood. Clam linguini was standard

Located in the South Point casino, the food doesn't disappoint. Had the chowder twice! Comes with warm sour dough rolls with butter. Take advantage of the 1/2 price oysters and clams til 4 pm daily!Seating was fast (party of 2) and servers were attentive and friendly. Food comes quickly!Casual dining. Seats at the counter or tables. Good deal! Good food!

This is my go to oyster bar on the South Strip. The oysters are plump and fresh; as a plus, if you arrive before 4 pm the oysters are half price. We also had fish & chips and the gumbo. A very nice meal. Our server was friendly and attentive.

Ok the best thing in my opinion is the clam chowder!! It was soo bomb and thick how I like it ! I ordered the honey glazed salmon for my entree but I was not pleased! So I took it back and just got another clam chowder! It is very tight inside and small but they were accommodating to sit 10 of us at a fast pace. That was very nice that they made it work for such a small place. It's located at the South point casino and hotel. I would say try it but the food is just decent! However, the customer service is really good! Our server was so patient and amicable. -Marshay D.

Love the late night extended hours! It's located next to the buffet in Southpoint casino. If you're looking for an intimate setting this is not your place. The location of the restaurant is in a busy area of the casino. Just something to consider. The food was good! My favorite is Oyster Rockefeller! SO YUMMY! Love the crispness of the cheese and creaminess of the spinach! Here is my scoring of everything my friend and I ordered: - Oyster Rockefeller 10/10- Pan Roast 7/10- Jambalaya 6/10 Service was okay! Nothing special. It took a little bit longer to get refills. Overall experience was good! I would go back to try other dishes!

As previously noted, I'm a fan of the South Point Casino when it comes to the rooms, casino floor & subtle perks through out. This place has quite a few hidden gems. Big Sur Oyster bar is dead smack in the casino near the Garden Buffet (not a fan) and I've yet to be disappointed!! If you love Raw Oysters & Clams, this is a great spot to break from casino life or even come specifically for lunch/early dinner. My favorite are the Jambalaya, Cajun Style Pasta w/Shrimp, & the Linguini & Clams. All 3 of these are made to order and always on point. Comes with bread and salad (I think) I typically go with a side salad, a dozen raw oysters and one of the 3 main dishes I mentioned. They got a lot of seafood items on the menu that I've also grabbed when on the go like the Lobster Grilled Cheese... good, but Pricey for a sandwich. I will continue to stick to my regular routine ... and that includes winning on the casino floor so if it ain't broke, don't fix!!!! Crab Leg special is next on deck!!
