Art galleries and studios line 18b's backbone, the 18-block neighborhood and community vision that is shaping the city's character with its self described cultural explosion. Producing and exhibiting a wide range of styles and media, from surrealist paintings and ceramics to fine arts. It is a vibrant cultural hub packed with indie art galleries and performance spaces in converted warehouses. Major venues include the Arts Factory, with galleries, antique shops, bistros, Bars and a sprawling Art Square with so much more. This is a must place to visit if you're visiting Las Vegas and a great place to walk if you're a local. There is a crystal shop called "Honeycomb" that has a huge selection of crystals. So many funky antique shops that will take you back to the olden days. Might even find some vintage items that might possibly cost a fortune.Restaurants that serve fantastic diverse flavors with great customer service. A great place to spend the day!!!

18b Las Vegas Arts District was created as an 18-block neighborhood to encourage art work. The 18-block includes Commerce Street, Hoover Avenue, and 4th Street.Independent business such as hair salon, vintage clothing, boutiques, antique shops, art galleries, breweries, and restuarants is a great addition to the neightborhood. The Artistic Iron Works on Charleston makes decorative metal designs and sculptures like tortoise, plants, horses, and dinosaurs, so cool! 18-blocks of the Arts District is amazing! Full of vibrant artwork, fabulous boutiques, galleries, great eateries, and coffee shops, it's a wonderful scenary and cool vibe!

This revitalized community hub in Downtown Las Vegas continues to get better, with more and more unique bars and artisan shops. I like it better than Fremont Street Experience and Fremont East District. By comparison, the Arts District is clean and geared toward locals rather than tourists. It is free of gambling, casinos, gaming taverns, video poker machines, second-hand cigarette smoke, smut, and riffraff. It showcases local businesses rather than corporate chains.Currently, my favorite spots here include Able Baker Brewing, Cornish Pasty Co., Servehzah Bottle Shop & Taproom, and Tacotarian. I also like CraftHaus Brewery, HUDL Brewing Company, and Nevada Brew Works. There are a number of newer bars that I look forward to trying, including the Voodoo Brewing taproom.Brewery Row overlaps the Arts District, where it currently has seven local breweries: Able Baker, CraftHaus, Hop Nuts, HUDL, Las Vegas, Nevada Brew Works, and Voodoo. Additionally, there craft beer bars, including Servehzah and The Silver Stamp.Paying for parking through the meters or one of the mobile apps (Flowbird, ParkWhiz) is a tedious hassle. It's a gotcha game waiting for you to make a mistake, so they can slap a parking citation on your windshield. Main Street and intersecting side streets have a four hour limit. I prefer to park one street over, on Commerce Street, where that restriction doesn't apply. However, if you need to park for more than four paid hours, the apps won't let you. So, you instead have to use the parking meters directly, which accept cards but not tap pay. Though I'm not a fan of the paid parking rigmarole, I believe it helps preserve the quality of the experience in the Arts District.

The Art District in Las Vegas is one of those places where you can go and see some great art (metal and canvas). While at the same time enjoying some outdoor music and drinks. The bars and restaurants in the area have great service and a good value for your money and time.I recommend everyone go downtown and check it out!

My realtor suggested I take a look at living in the Arts District or better known as 18b. Eighteen blocks of this eclectic neighborhood. I remember I was impressed of the area on my solo visit to Vestra Coffee. Since I'm from The Bay, the urban and free-forming vibes seemed cool. Actually, a bit more hip and cultured than parts of Vegas. It was pointed out to me about the concerns of crime in 18b and Downtown Vegas. Heck, I'm from Oakland. No biggie. Plus the State of Nevada is a "open carry state!"

I absolutely love the arts and downtown Vegas, in what used to be the worst area possible, now packs in both amazing galleries and street art! The neighborhood is still beyond sketchy but I've never been mugged when walking around so I'm all good with it. We did get accosted when taking pictures of street art at what turned out to be private property. But, it was just folks protecting what was theirs to protect so life is good!I think if we move to Vegas, we'd live downtown and enjoy the locals scene. It's real and has only one way to go... up!

18b = 18 blocksThere are 18 city blocks in Las Vegas that compose the Arts District. It's a really cool place full of color and creativity! I enjoy looking at the murals and visiting the shops, restaurants, Public Art such as Snowball, the cat, and other businesses such as Art Galleries and The Container Park with its Praying Mantis. Most recently, we found the Las Vegas Community Healing Garden where the 58 souls who lost their lives in the shooting on October 1, 2017. Such an awesome memorial! For sure, we will return...maybe for a First Friday celebration! Check out www.18b.org for more information!
