"I've been here twice and I've enjoyed it both times, though I wouldn't put it over some of my other local favorite Mexican joints. I will give this place five stars for creativity though and trying to go outside of the box with ingredients like Hot Cheetos and doing a birria taco pizza, though I haven't tried them. I've had the smackdown burrito, the spicy shrimp burrito, some tacos, and some caramel filled churros and though the burritos were good, they just didn't hit me like some other places burritos do. I had the tacos quite a while ago so I can't really comment on them but the churros, especially when fresh, are amazing. The inside is nicely decorated as well. If you wanted to eat in though, I got both of my meals to go. I like stopping by here when I'm in the area and in the mood for some Mexican food which is a bit out of the ordinary."
"OH. MY. GOSH. THE. TACOS. The shrimp and the fish tacos. The flavor. The seasoning. The HOMEMADE TORTILLAS! They are sort of puffy and cornmeal type. Not corn. Not flour. Maybe a little of both? So good. I was blown away by how authentic this food is. The service is super friendly also. This is a simple place. The menu has menudo. No frills decor. If I had not been traveling I would have gotten some tortillas to go. They are that good. The side of beans -- AWESOME. Go get yourself some tacos and decide for yourself."
"It was a long day. I needed chips and beans and a marg STAT! So instead of going to our normal place, we decided to give Chavelos a try, given it's about 10 min closer to our house than our normal place. Rolling up at around 515pm, I was a little worried because it's never a good sign when the parking lot is empty. The place was pretty empty too except for one other couple eating. Now, I won't lie, I know 515 is early bird time but Happy Hour and there were people who came in a few minutes after us and it started to get busy as we were leaving. The place is decorated cute and is fairly clean. The furniture is a little worn but as long as it's clean, I don't judge too hard. The service we got was ok. There was always someone different coming to our table so I don't know if they share duties or if there was some confusion. I try really hard to not be offended when people who sit after us are served first but maybe that was an oversight by the restaurant? Who knows? I will say that everyone was friendly, even if not the most attentive.I ordered a grapefruit fruit margarita but they were out of grapefruit so I switched to strawberry. No big deal but make sure when you order, you specify HH so you don't get charged full price if you are within HH time. It was a bit watered down/lacked flavor and had a sugar rim (disgusting) so I doubt I'd order it again but it was ok.The free chips/beans/salsa was really good. I have ZERO complaints about the food here. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. I wanted to try the Yelp check-in dessert but I was very full at the end of the meal (and it wasn't on the menu so I felt a little apprehensive) but I saved it for next time!"
"What a great happy hour! It has great hours from 3pm-7pm & phenomenal drink & food choices. I met up with a friend I hadn't seen in forever, so, we were so busy talking I didn't get enough pictures, but their margaritas are amazing & other than just salt, they can rim the glass with Tajin, yum! We also split the tostada plate which was delicious! Also, complementary chips, bean dip & salsa: yay! It's a fun, lively atmosphere with very nice bartenders & servers. I even met the owner that was helping out & she was a peach! I'm very impressed & am looking forward to returning! Highly recommend!"
"I went to Casa Don Juan using a Groupon for $100 worth of food for just $70, and I'm so glad I did! The restaurant is huge with a fun vibe, and the waiters in traditional Mexican attire really add to the experience. The fajitas were amazing - fresh, sizzling, and packed with flavor. I also tried the Michelada, and it was super refreshing with just the right amount of kick. A couple of my friends got the torta and burrito, and they were just as happy with their meals.Service was solid too - friendly and on point, making the whole experience even better. All in all, a great spot for some delicious Mexican food. I'll definitely be back!"
"We came in for Mother's Day lunch the day before mother's day and the service from MAYRA WAS AMAZING!! There's both inside and outside seating. Inside is very festive, with mariachi music playing. Not too loud that you can't hear each other speak though. Food was DELISH . Chips and salsa was wonderful . Chips perfectly salted!I ordered a shredded beef chimichanga with green sauce on top and a side of guacamole. Another ordered flautas and said they were AMAZING! The cheese and chicken enchiladas I was told were wonderful as well. The rice and beans on the side were seasoned too perfection as well.Lastly.... Don't forget to get your margarita!I would definitely recommend this restaurant and stuff in MAYRA'S section! Provecho/Bon Appetit"
"It was my first time coming here. I ordered chicken taquitos with rice and beans combo. It was very good tasty. I appreciated the service that I received. The place was spacious and clean. I will come back again and try other things that are offered"
"Always love coming here. prefer the lake mead location although the other one is closer to me. ask for Frannie she's awesome!"
"Right off the bat I LOVED the ambience and the environment! I had a big party (12) and they were so attentive towards our needs. The water cups were small but they made sure we never ran out of water. The food tasted as good as it looked! I'll be dreaming of those enchiladas the drinks were also yummy! Also, you know how normally Mexican restaurants give you chips and chili while you wait? This place gave you that AND beans lol It was also my cousins birthday and as soon as they got news of it they came out dancing and singing with a happy birthday sign and they gave her dessert. It was very cute and memorable. I love this place and will definitely try coming back when I'm in Vegas again"
"My husband's nephews picked the place and they knocked it out of the park! Great nachos, affordable prices and very fun atmosphere."
"Oh heck yeah, Yelp! You made my day recommending this place to me. I actually have breakfast a lot in the area, in a place that's kitty corner to this one. Don't get me wrong, I love that place, especially for their specialty coffees and baked French toast, but sometimes you want eggs. Sometimes you want chilaquiles and steak AND eggs. This first time coming in was one of those days and now that I know this place is here, it's getting added to the breakfast rotation for sure.We came in on a Saturday morning, around 1030AM. There were a few groups waiting ahead of us. When the person at the door took our names, he estimated about a 10-15 min wait. Not a problem at all. However, we waited less than 10 min! We sat in the back, next to the windows at a nice big table and very comfortable chair and banquette seat. The place is a bit sparsely decorated but they use the space well and it looks very, very clean. I actually like a bit of white walls and ceiling. Can't hide the dirt/dust from me then. Our server was just a great ball of energy. She was a bit swamped so she missed some stuff, like refills for our coffee, but there are quite a few people who check up on you, so it wasn't really an issue. The food is incredible. I loved the beans on the gratis plate of chips we got. The salsas are really good as well. I got green chilaquiles with an over easy egg and added steak. OMG! That steak was so freaking good. I have never has such good steak as a side like that before. I ate ALL of it. My husbands BYO burrito was really tasty as well."
"I can't wait to come back and try more food here!I drive by this spot all the time, but I have never been in. We decided to give it a try because we were in the immediate area and didn't want to drive further away to our usual spot. Walking in, the place is decorated ok and the tables are very cozy. There is a lot more space in here than you would initially believe, which doesn't shock me because it was pretty busy in here for a Wednesday at 530pm. We were greeted right away but it took a minute for someone to come by to seat us. Once we were sat, it took a while for our order to be taken. However, this wasn't a huge issue. I could see that they were busy and honestly, I'd rather wait an extra minute and get great service than be rushed. Our server was so nice and friendly. We also had more than 1 other person touch our table to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Great service!!!The food here is really, really good. The only issue I had was that the refried beans all have pork chorizo in them and my husband doesn't eat pork so his favorite dip was off the table for him. Luckily, his meal came with charro/Ranchero beans instead of the refried. Everything I ate had great flavor. The portion sizes here are great for the value, and most of my items reheating very nicely."

"Not busy at all. Which had me worried. Order the #17 which was a chicken taco and a pork tamale. Was excellent and very happy that the taco was chicken breast. This place was great . Glad I stayed!"
"FAT BOY // TOGOWhat a great way to start the New Year 2025 with delicious food!! Why are yall gatekeeping this place?!I ordered the items below and the food did not disappoint. Fatty boy for life. Highly recommend. BoygerPastrami Chili Chz Fries14" Meatlovers"
"Located off the beaten path this place has everything you want in a fusion Mexican restaurant. They do the chips, salsa and guac well. Their rice is fluffy and tasty. The birria is beefy and full of great deep flavors. The menu goes from chilaquiles and enchiladas to birria ramen and quesabirria pizza. The outside of the building certainly catches your eyes and the inside is no different. There's plenty of artwork and colorful imagery. We started off with chips and salsa and guac. This was done really well. The chips were crunchy and fresh. Definitely done in house. The guac was creamy with the consistency I love. We also got the nopales fries. They looked like deep fried zucchini. The nopales was tender and tasted great. The batter was bomb too! Loved the Chipotle sauce it came with. My birria ramen was phenomenal. Really diverse bowl of food. The noodles were so good and the broth was hearty. They gave me a lot of beef here and it was so good. Loved the egg and the corn. A must try for anyone visiting. The baked potato was huge and my lady ate half before finally tapping out. The mole sauce was delicious and I wish I would've ordered a plate with that sauce. Some of the best restaurants on my Vegas trip were no where near the strip. This one was not only tasty, trendy and delicious but it was very affordable!"
"I loved this place. I gave it a strong 4.6 and round it off to 5. First off the drinks were awesome! Cadillac Margarita was strong but a tad sweet, but well worth the price. Chips salsa and beans - delish...and I totally enjoyed my fajita. It was everything I want in a chicken and shrimp fajita and those tortillas are perfect. You really can't beat that. My wife had a steak dish and it was good, especially with everything that came with it, but she wasn't raving like I was about my dish. Great service, comfortable setting and what you would expect at a nice Mexican restaurant. I definitely recommend Lindo."
"The only thing I could think of was ringing in the New Year with my Family in enjoying the BEST Quesobirria tacos in all of Las Vegas. I have been going here for years and it was a secret hidden gem until word got out and it exploded. They have since grown and remodeled so it is comfortable to dine in which is the best way to enjoy hot and fresh! They have quite a few birria items, I have had the Birria ramen and tacos both of which are my favorite.Go..... just go, have a mouth orgasm and give your belly a happy ending and then you can get on your knees and thank me later. :) Mmmmm yum yes!!!!! The Best!!!!"
"This is located inside Planet Hollywood in the shops area right outside the Popovich show. They have Happy Hour and the food is awesome. This is authentic Mexican Food. The staff are warm and friendly and the service was really good.I had the fajita burrito which is your standard fajita in a burrito with cheese and I got a side of guacamole. It was a good size and came with rice and beans. We also were given chips and salsa. If you leave hungry it's your fault. The margarita's are really good and for $6 during Happy Hour made it taste even better.I recommended this place and I will be back. It's a place I would drive down to the strip just to enjoy good Mexican Food."
"Dined with family at Leticia's for Father's Day. Highly recommended by my in-laws. Leticia's is located inside the Santa Fe Station Casino. The food was really delicious and authentic. The chips and Salsa were so good I couldn't stop eating them lol. Huge portion of food in my opinion. We were all stuffed. We all left with a to go box lol. Service was great as well. We look forward to come back again!"
"Went to Frijoles and Frescas today for lunch.. the strawberry Fresca was tasty and the nachos had incredible depth of flavor. I got a small bean and cheese burrito to go and those beans were really tasty. The only thing that was disappointing was there really wasn't much meat or beans on the nachos. It was mostly guac and pico. I would probably come back but I'm not sure I would do the nachos again."
"I forgot to leave my first review a few days ago but me and my partner came back again!! I originally came for the albondigas and the sopa was perfect, we loved the atmosphere and service the first time and it was even better the second time feeling like home, we loved how it's not super busy and just an at home feeling, the food is all sooo good, I had the combination plate this time and was able to get chili relenos, quesabirria, enchiladas con carne molida, and the ceviche was bomb too, will be coming back regularly"
"Enjoyed lunch here for my first visit. Chicken verde enchiladas were damn delicious, including the rice and beans. Chips and salsas were hot and fresh (and fyi cost $8). The only downside was that my waiter, as good looking and yummy smelling as he was, was wearing so much cologne that if I was taking a bite and he walked by, I felt like I was eating cologne I wish they had fountain sodas- a single can of Coke was $4."

This is a good Mexican place. Went with my friends on a Saturday afternoon. It is not busy. We had a good time. Unfortunately, it is not Happy Hour. Happy hour is from Monday to Friday from 3pm until 6pm. During Happy Hour, their draft beers are 4$, and classic margarita is $6.95. Some appetizers are $8.95, i.e., mini street tacos quesadillas, mini taquitos dorados, nachos, and tacos. I had a chimichanga a parilla. The meat was tasty and tender. I had mine with the green sauce. My meal came in with beans and rice. I had left over. My other friend enchilada. My other friend also had a chimichanga, but his was shredded meat with the red sauce. For Yelpers, if you check in, you get a free Bunuelo.

I have lived in Las Vegas my whole life and have never been to Viva Mercados. A group of friends and I decided to check it out for cinco de mayo. We were easily able to make a reservation for about 9 of us. I was surprised on how dead the restaurant was for the holiday but was thankful. On weekends they do a special of bottomless mimosas and sangria. For the holiday they also offered $5 margs and draft beers. 4 of us opted for the bottomless since it was brunch for us. They do offer 3 flavors, pineapple, cranberry, and orange. As for a meal I decided on the combination plate since it seemed like the most decently priced option. I did the chicken enchilada and the beef burrito. I can say I was not very impressed. The chicken was pretty dry and so was the beef. I will say the rice and beans were great though, as well as the cup of fideo that comes with the meal. Service was on top of everything. I did have to knock off some stars because they offer bottomless, but after an hour they no longer wanted to serve us more drinks. I understand time limits. Most brunches we have been to state a time limit (most around 90 minutes). However, these were not stated to us when we ordered which I thought was a bit off for me. I don't mind a limit but tell customers or have them clearly stated on the menu. We all had about 4-5 mimosas each which I didn't find too excessive. Probably wouldn't be back for brunch. But thankful for the opportunity to try them out.

Sooooo cute. A really vibrant and colorful restaurant with staff dressed in traditional Mexican clothing. It was a slow Saturday when my family and I stopped by for dinner. The service was quick and the food was really good. I ordered a fried fish with a sign of beans, rice and handmade flour tortillas. I'm glad my fried fish wasn't too greasy or salty. I paired it with an horchata. Horchata quality to me is very important because I prefer a traditional rice drink over a dairy-powder made horchata that's store bought. Thankfully their horchata is traditional and simply rice milk and cinnamon. My other favorite was the chicken soup. Absolutely delicious and well-seasoned I wanted to steal it from my grandma for myself.

I firmly believe this is the best restaurant in lake Las Vegas. Love coming here to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy excellent Mexican cuisine. They have both indoor and outdoor seating but if you can try your hardest to sit on the outdoor patio. They offer daily specials on drinks, appetizers, and on Tuesday an all you can eat taco course! I went with the enchiladas and opted for one pork and one beef. Everything was so delicious from the refried beans to the complimentary chips and salsa. Definitely worth a try if you are in the Lake Las Vegas area!

The best closet to home comfort food I've ever had. I am Mexican and I can tell you that this breakfast joint is authentic. From their attentive staff, the awesome atmosphere and amazing music this place can't get any better. By now you can pretty much say Las Vegas is our second home, we're always on the hunt for dining experiences. We've heard so we had to come! Amazing food! Do try their chilaquiles rojos, sopes de carne molida con huevo, pancakes de fresas con crema and their licuados! When I tell you, this breakfast was so worth the late fee for our car rental and missing our flight... it was worth it lol Cafe de olla is amazing and also if you do on weekends they have some pan dulce for starters. Can't wait to back!

"Enchiladas and fajitas were not that bad. Price was fair. I will not be going back though. 1. We had to pay for the chips and salsa (most Mexican restaurants usually have these for free). 2. I did not like the margarita and asked to return it, but they said I would still have to pay for it (usually other places take it back at no charge). Would have been nice if they gave that disclaimer before purchasing drinks. 3. Rice and beans tasted like they were at least a day old, seems like they were just reheated in the microwave or something. I wasn't expecting much from this place since its clearly not a fancy restaurant or in a super nice area, but i did expect the normalcy of other Mexican hole in the wall restaurants. I've simply had better."
"This is my GO TO spot when i go to Costco's for Gas! The food is always good. I always come for chips & queso with chorizo with a large margarita & a shot of Grand Marnier! Boom! The service is always great and i prefer to sit at the bar! The ambiance is nice and chill at the bar with the tvs showing sports. My type of Saturday!"
"Hidden gem that was recommended by a friend of mine. She raved about the tacos. Especially the quesabirria. So that's what I got. Let me say it ain't the best Birria in town BUT they are really Good!! Very meaty and cheesy. The consome was flavorful. I also got a large drink mixing pineapple and mango and happy to say they have Fresca (refills when dine in) on tap! Very refreshing! Service was fast. The vibe for me wasn't it so I took it to go. But otherwise I would come back to try other things on the menu and that's saying a lot for a picky eater like my self."
"After a hike, I stopped here for breakfast. I learned of this place from two ads for a personal injury law firm that were filmed here. At the beginning of both ads, they show a quick cameo of the outside. I looked it up on Yelp and bookmarked it.The restaurant opens at 10 and I was early. When the place opened, I went in and was told to sit anywhere I wanted. I ordered coffee and it was quickly brought. I then ordered the Mexican breakfast which consists of 2 eggs cooked as you want topped with a red chili sauce. With it comes refried beans, hash browns, and your choice of flour or corn tortillas. In addition, you are brought chips and salsa. That makes for a hearty breakfast and is available all day. When the plate was brought I went to move it. DON'T! It was blisteringly hot. My server had a pot holder and she moved it for me. The hash browns and refried beans are standard. Take care not to eat too many chips! I ordered my eggs sunny side up. The eggs are covered with the red chili sauce. I tore a piece of the tortilla and used it to dip into the wonderful chili sauce. My coffee was refilled when needed and it was a good stop. The restaurant opened in 1975 and is owned locally by two sisters. Service is excellent. And for locals who may understand, the entrance to the freeway to Harris Dam is not far away. Thanks to the law firm I found a good breakfast place."
"Hmm, was going to make it 3 stars BUT the food is actually really - really tasty. Trust me, I came for Tacos El Gordo but grabbed one here as well to see what this place was all about. Let me tell you...Their cabeza taco with everything was SUPER yummy. Melted cheese on the tort with a slight crunch, juicy meat with a generous amount of it piled on, and just an overall delicious experience. Downside? It's pricey! I got two tacos from their competitors for nearly the price of one. If they wonder WHY they don't get as much action as Tacos El Gordo.. maybe go next door to find out. Lower the price, offer more condiments, and take an environmental tip on how to seduce a customer solely on ambience. Nonetheless, interested in trying another type of taco from here soon esp since the wait nonexistent in comparison to their neighbors."
"Discovered this place on a road trip. Great food and a great Margarita! Would eat there again if passing through."
"Really good Mexican food. Great selection of food from tacos, birria, menudo, and Chile Colorado. Service is great and helpful. Place is clean. Place is clean. Highly recommend."
"When you walk in the doors it's a whole vibe within itself. Staff were very welcoming and offered suggestions and customizations to make my order something that they knew that I would enjoy. I got my typical order which is a Chimango (mango with mango sorbet Chamoy tajin and candy). The snack was good and the fruit were sweet and fresh. They also have a little gaming area in the back so you can enjoy your food or beverage and hang out for a bit. I want to reiterate the customer service was top-tier and this will be my new spot to go to since it's not that far from my job."
"Everyone kept telling me I had to visit Tacos Los Barrios. My employees, my husband's co-workers, Yelp, Instagram... the list goes on and on. I should have listened to these people a long time ago because this place is excellent. My husband finally got to try it, catering style at work, and he told me he HAD to take me there on a date night. Walking in around 515pm, it was already fairly busy. My hubs was told to try to come in before 6pm because it's a madhouse after then and I would agree to that because as time went by, more and more people were coming in for both take out and dine in. Ordering was easy and the person taking the order was really good to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted. She made sure to inform us what was on the Taco Tuesday special and what wasn't and made sure to accommodate my husband's no cilantro order. I can see why this place is so popular. The food is really amazing. We got carne asada tacos, queso birria tacos with consommé and a birria quesadilla. Everything was soooo good. The birria meat is so tender and flavorful. It's pretty juicy and probably didn't need the extra consommé but the consommé was good with everything so I would not not order it again. The tacos and the quesadilla were FILLED with meat, so it was absolutely worth the price. The place was really clean, and the tables were close but comfortable. I loved the salsa bar because it had a lot more stuff than most of the sad bars I've seen lately. The pickled onions were the highlight, as well as the hot red salsa. I could put that on anything and like it. We got bottle Cokes this time but next time we want to try some of their agua frescas. They looked so good!"
"Their tacos are so gooood. I usually get the pastor and steak ones, no chile but hella tons of avocado salsa on the side! I appreciate this place so much and tend to come here on tuesdays since they do have their special for tacos (Buy 1, get 1/2 off ) Glad that this restau is close to my home!!"
"So close to getting 5 stars. The Cadillac combo was delicious . For something as simple as a ground beef taco, quesadilla, and cheese enchilada, it all was tasty. Waitress was nice..and cute lol. The reason for the star removal was that the ice water taste bad which forced me to buy a $5 coke. Also the chips and salsa would cost additional $6 . Should come complementary with the built in price of the meals and alcohol they sell. It's the cheapest thing they could give away. All in all, of your hungry, order some food, I can only vouch for what I ate, but I'll try something different with confidence in the future"
"I frequent this taco shop every couple of weeks.. maybe more! I come here for the buche, asada, and tripas. The tripas typically come out crispy which is how I like them. I've also had the cabeza which is ok but the other 3 are my favorite. Service is fairly quick, considering I come in for lunch and the place is busy. Order them with everything which is salsa, cilantro, and onions. There is a salsa bar with the same red and green that come on the tacos as well as limes, jalapeños and radishes. Great taco shop and I will continue to visit."
"I am a Wynn/Vegas regular and am always looking for great restaurants. I had never been to Casa Playa and decided it was time to try it. For appetizers we enjoyed the queso fundido, guac, and papas bravas. All recommendable, especially the queso as it comes with fresh hand made tortillas. The half chicken is tastefully spiced and fiery. You must try the forbidden fruit margarita which was boozy and reminiscent of a mangonada! The obsidian margarita was not memorable."
