Heaven Sent Fried Chicken

The food was average. The roll, and fried okra was my favorite out of everything I ordered. I ordered my food through Uber Eats Jan 16, 2024

Sorry but I'm unimpressed. The chicken is dry, like it's been cooked and re-cooked. The inside of the restaurant is very dingy. It also reeks of fried food, as in you leave the restaurant with the smell of used cooking oil stuck to your hair and clothes. Maybe install better fans or ventilation to let the grease smell out. I don't think I'll be coming back to this place again.

The chicken is so so. Not worth the $$. My wife and I wanted fried chicken. We went in to enjoy a meal. Noticed that these people are still stuck in the Plandemic stage. Masks, no self serve pop and still has the health dept sign on the machine, still rocking the stupid socialist distancing stickers on the floor and the dining room is closed due to Fauci's gain of function virus. These people here are cowards. Waited 30 mins for mediocre food. I think I'll stick with Ezell's. Hope that one isn't closed like this one.

Saw a TV ad a while ago, so it has been on my list to hit when I'm in the area . The place needs some work . Generally try to keep things positive, but there's nothing positive about my experience at this location. Walking in felt like I was in a cross between NYC Covid lockdown and a prison cafeteria. Staff wasn't friendly at all. Chicken was cold and dry. Fries were underdone and soggy. Only thing that tasted decent was the beans. Dining room is closed so nowhere to eat, asked for some plates so I could try to eat my chicken in the car, they don't have any??? I asked her how the hell was I supposed to eat it with no plates or cutlery. Will never ever ever go back.

I am writing it here, and I say it over and over to my friends. Heaven Sent Fried Chicken has, by far, THE BEST gluten-free fried chicken in the Seattle...er, Greater Seattle Area. And I have sampled a lot of GF friend chicken, from the occasional Asian restaurant with the GF fried wings to the other local deep fried food shops with GF menus. Ezell Stephens shows that even though he lost the rights to the chicken place that bears his name, he still has the culinary chops to make a damn delicious, crispy GF chicken. Another bonus is that the Everett location has a dedicated GF kitchen, which likely makes this a much better option for our celiac friends.Whenever I go to Heaven Sent, I order the spicy fried chicken. The batter is light and airy, and never too greasy. I am astounded by how they manage to achieve this feat of making a crisp and flavorful GF friend chicken without making it overly greasy. They also include a gluten-free roll that, while being rather crumbly, and easily falls apart, manages to also be sweet and savory. The roll pairs so well with the chicken. And of course, the fries tie it all together.When Heaven Sent started to offer GF deep-fried catfish and chips, I quickly had to try it. And of course, Ezell had done it again. A crunchy catfish that explodes with flavor once you bite into it. Now, whenever I drive up to Everett, I am torn, as I am in love with both their catfish and chicken. I admittedly sometimes get both and save one for later.The only reason why I am taking a star off of what I wish could be a 5-star review, is because, as other reviewers have mentioned, their service leaves a lot to be desired. I usually call my order in before I leave Seattle for their Everett location, and despite it taking 20 minutes to get there (on a good day), sometimes my order is still not ready! Other times, I dropped by and ordered from the counter, and have found the wait times to be egregiously long, observing the staff taking their sweet ole' time getting the orders filled!As for dining in, it has been a few months since I have been to Heaven Sent. Last I was there, they had still not opened the table area to customers. It is a shame too because the inside of the Everett establishment is quite large. I'd love to sit and eat a chicken or catfish meal in their dining area. Maybe they'll open it again soon. Until then, I'm content to take their food to a nearby park and hope for some sun.

Chicken used to be bigger pieces. Now small chickens are used. Chicken is so salty it's not edible. Used to be large pieces of chicken and not so salty. Cat Fish was muddy I've been eating and catching cats for 50 years. The cat fish here is muddy and inedible. We used to love Heaven Sent but the inside has old wooden furniture and the floors are horrible. Come on Heaven Sent get back the big chickens and put money into your locations no one wants to come into an old dreary looking place. Back off the salt.

Has been before COVID since I ordered so I had good memories and high expectation. I talked them up to a friend. This was her first time and she LOVED it ALL! We got the breast & wing option and they were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside so AWESOME!. Sides of mashed potatoes with gravy & coleslaw both tasted just like homemade. Upsized to a larger Okra as was sharing; a good plan. Peach cobbler for dessert & I ate my friends for breakfast LOL!!I highly recommend this location

Gorgeous golden crispy outside & delicious and juicy inside! Friends- Sincerely, this chicken is heaven sent!! My son said the macaroni & cheese is the best he's ever had ! But that potato salad is also magnificent!P.S. we received outstanding service at the front desk by the young gentleman.

We were so very disappointed! Spent over $40.00 plus tip for the garbage can! The chicken, gizzards and okra was so overcooked almost burnt! Never, never again! Heaven Sent lost our business! We used to live in this area a few years ago and we'd go to Heaven Sent for good chicken. What happened? Very, very disappointing! We were surprised this place stayed in business serving such horrible food now!

It was alright. I'm not ranting and raving, but it was decent. The mashed potatoes were good. All in all, I'd say I'd stop in every once in a while. The interesting thing about this place is the history between them and Ezell's Famous Chicken. Which I might do a side by side comparison at some point.
