The poke here is insane. "Dan" with the one star review doesn't know what he's eating to claim the fish is slimy. Then again, most of the people complaining about this place and they don't understand what authentic poke is so they can go get their poke salad bowls from Venice beach instead.Service was top notch. Great staff and quick help.I ordered a plate with shoyu tuna, garlic salmon, and the Kilauea salmon for about $20 and they LOAD up the plate with poke. The Kilauea salmon has a good kick! The garlic salmon is so garlicky good and delicious, you can't get salmon better than this. And that shoyu tuna? oh baby. HFS knows what they're doing and they kill the game every time

Food: 1 Star from the rice to fish. How can this fish be so SLIMY. Garlic salmon and shoyu were bad, but ginger shoyu even worse. Service: 4 Stars because they were nice and they offer a military/veteran discount. I had very high hopes for the place, but they fell short. I hope they switch out the fish next time and possibly use fresher fish. Change the rice and seaweed flakes out too please. The rice was stale as the seaweed flakes, which tasted lifeless. Don't say I didn't warn you. Try something else in the area.Overall: Do not recommend.

My daughter considers this spot to be a fresh fish treat, and I see her point; it was really good. Her lunch of choice was a white rice poke bowl, containing two fish - garlic salmon, and cilantro/mayo Ahi. She also got a side of wonton chips which allowed us to make Sudo poke nachos as we scooped out fresh fish from her bowl. NOM.It truly is Hawaiian style. This is how they make poke in Hawaii when you go to Foodland, as an example. The tasty poke is already premixed to perfection!

This is definitely one of the best poke in San Diego. It's always fresh and they have different sauces for the salmon , tuna , it changes daily. The workers are always super friendly and helpful. There's plenty of seating outside or can just take it with you to the beach.

Refreshing poke! HUGE PORTIONS! I got the garlic salmon and the shoyu! The shoyu was very good and probs the best shoyu I had so far in the area. The garlic salmon was ok! I'm not a huge fan of garlic but my partner is. They have a $2 happy hour discount for bowls and plates from 3pm-5pm daily. You can get your poke to go. If not, they have tables inside and outside.

Friends recommended this place for really good poke. It was good, but apparently not as good as another location. We had a garlic salmon and another type of spicy salmon. The portions were really large, but I think because of all the seasoning you don't get extra toppings like at most other poke places. The workers were really nice, though, and we also tried the Dole whip, which was very good. Parking is just street parking, but there's a lot of it around. Also there's very little seating inside the place, but there are tables outside in the common areas.

Not able to fly home all I have been craving lately is poke. So happy this is so close. I love that there is an abundance of parking. I was a little disappointed they only had ahí and salmon to choose from. Nothing will beat being in Hawaii! However, with the minimal choices I was grateful to find this small spot. They have a few tables inside, but also have tables to enjoy the sunshine sunny San Diego has while enjoying your meal. All options are $25.99 lb. I decided on the plate to choose 3 proteins. Don't judge me I was hungry. I would have ordered some spam musubi, but sadly they were out. Overall the plate was great. I had 1/2 rice and 1/2 salad. I added nori and the two gentlemen working were fast and nice. I devoured the plate and was happy with the spice level. For a quick and easy meal when I am the go I will come back. Hopefully they will have more options and musubi next time.

My mom and I were looking for a meal that wasn't too heavy and easy to bring to airport. We really wanted Poké. There was a spot inside the main Liberty Public Market but it didn't really good, nor have a lot of options. We noticed that this spot was a short distance walk further down the street ~10 minutes. We were quickly greeted by the nice staff. Their poke looked like the traditional poke places you would find in Hawaii. We ordered the medium bowl which has 2 scoops of fish. Toppings were extra. California salmon -- i liked this one the most. It had avocado and salmon mixed with mayo sauce. I didn't like the other 2 flavors that I tried. Pearl harbor ahi tuna -- why did this taste like gummy slimy tuna?!? Tasted too weird for me. It's the texture that I couldn't overlook. Kilauea ahi -- straight up spicy tuna from chili flakes (good thing I didn't order this for myself). Not a fan. I wished there were more options to choose from. I felt limited by their offerings because there weren't many that looked good to me.

I came here for lunch with my family on a Monday afternoon. There was a short line due to students coming here on their lunch break, but it moved quickly. There are a few seats inside, but we opted to take our food to the patio. I had a small poke bowl with salad, a scoop of rice, and the garlic salmon. Not really any options for other toppings, but the fish was good.
