Hattie B's Hot Chicken - Nashville Melrose

I think this was our favorite meal of our whole trip.The staff was so nice. The place was clean and service was fast. The food.... The food was insane. Best potato salad ever. Best fries. Amazing sandwich. Only thing we didn't care for was the banana pudding and peach cobbler. Wasn't our thing. But everything else was 10/10.

Get ready to eat a bunch, this was the first place Sara and I came to all day and we are glad we saved room. I'll rank each item compared to Dave's hot chicken as that's the only other spot similar I think that I've had.We ordered theChicken Sandwich - Medium (Dave's is better) 7/10Potato Salad - Decent 6.5/10Cole Slaw - Very good 8.5/10 (better than Dave's)Pimento Mac and Cheese - 10/10 (could have more crunch)Very loud in here so expect to speak loudly - the tables were pretty clean and I was happily surprised. I don't know if it's better than Princes so I'll try that tomorrow and come update.

Our trip to Hattie B's Nashville Hot Chicken was something I won't soon forget, but not for good reasons. After waiting 30 minutes in line, our excitement quickly faded. What we got wasn't worth the time or trouble. It felt more like a gut punch than a tasty meal.Now, the chicken itself? It was just fried chicken slathered in cayenne pepper. Nothing special, and honestly, it wasn't even all that good. I'm not from Nashville, but I can say this: I wouldn't go back. Everyone ate the chicken, and we all suffered for it later.As I write this, my stomach still feels like it's doing flips. Every person who went with me had the same experience. Once we got home, we all had to run for the bathroom. Even our friend, who loves spicy food, couldn't finish his meal--and if he couldn't handle it, you know it's bad.Final thoughts? I'd give it a six out of 10, and that's being nice. The banana pudding wasn't memorable, but at least it didn't make me sick. The peach cobbler? A complete disaster. Save yourself the trouble and don't even bother.The wait? Way too long. People who ordered online got their food first, while we stood outside in the rain. To make things worse, someone's dog left a mess right by the line, and nobody cleaned it up. So we had to stand there smelling dog poop and dealing with our friend Greg's farts. It was quite the experience.If you're looking for regret and a stomach ache, this place will do the job. Otherwise, I'd stay far away--or at least bring some Tums and a pooper scooper. You've been warned.

I had tried hot chicken at other places before I tried this popular place and I was tat-bit nervous of getting disappointed for it could be hyped, but I was so wrong.The chicken is perfectly crisp and nicely spiced. I ordered Chicken tenders with blue cheese and pimento mac n cheese with extra crispy fries on the side. And it was amazing, loved everything including the sides. Mild hot chicken is safe choice.The service took a little longer than I'd expected but no complaints, when the food is this good. We wanted to avoid the long line that most Hattie B's have so we visited here and its relatively less crowded even for a weekend. The eatery has enough sitting and an intentional grunge looking ambiance. There is parking right outside the eatery, but if you still don't find parking there, you need not worry, because there is public pay and park just about 300 meters from the restaurant.

Hot chicken is on the Nashville "must do" list and you don't have to look any further than Hattie B's! This Louisiana girl went for the "Hot!" heat level and it did not disappoint. I love jalapeños straight out the jar and this level of heat was perfect for me. Paired it with the pimento mac and cheese and baked beans. Banana pudding for dessert was perfect - and since it was our first time using the app, dessert was on the house! My friends also tried the peach cobbler and it was equally outstanding. Friendly counter service and floor staff making sure everyone had what they needed.

Everyone knows it. But I'm here to state it again, this shit is GREATTTT!!! Well seasoned. Great service. Sweet tea is SO GOOD. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting

The food at Hattie B's is great. The fried chicken tends to be on the greasier side but it is crunchy and spicy. I ordered the all white meal at medium level. I enjoyed the little kick of spice. For my two sides, I had the greens based on other reviews and the coleslaw. They were both good. The staff were super nice and we always enjoy sitting outside on their covered deck.

Soooo... originally thought we were going to be about 10 minutes away from Hattie Bs, but was actually 35 minutes away... after a long debate, we decided we couldn't leave Nashville without trying Hattie Bs! It was worth the drive.Love the variety of options, tenders, grilled, dark, light. Tons of sides, almost too many to pick from. My kid was firm about wanting medium, but after reading some comments, we said mild. While eating it, she's complaining. It's not spicy enough, she wanted medium, blah blah blah... then you see a little tear drop and her nervous laughter.... And the spice def hit her a little harder than she was expecting! My husbands did get medium and said it was perfect. Def packs the heat. Probably the best fried chicken we've ever had. Juicy, flavorful, crispy. Mac n cheese was life changing. Grits were magical. Coleslaw was average but good with everything else. Def make the trip when in the area.

When in Nashville you get hot chicken!! Hattie B's is one of the places you go. It is almost like fast food but the quality is much better plus, you can adult beverages with your meal. We stopped in a couple of weeks ago on a Friday. It was late afternoon and the line was long. A staff member came out and took drink orders. Yes, you can have a libation while waiting online; it is Nashvegas after all. We chatted with two other couples one of was from Long Island. Yes, New Yorkers are EVERYWHERE!!! No escape! We actually shared a table when we got inside. My wife and I got "hot" chicken. I got a sandwich, she the strips and we shared the sides. It was really good, not crazy over powering, but very flavorful and the heat was just right. The fries were fine, the Mac n Cheese bland. I washed mine down with a Pabst Blue Ribbon. The service was great, the food came out quick and we had a nice time. I think though I checked in at the wrong one. There are several in the city of Nashville.

Best hot (fried) chicken I ever had in my life!!! Food was perfectly cooked, perfect crisp and spicyness, fresh, juicy and delicious! Mac and cheese and collard greens were delicious too. Staff were friendly and service was great. This place had plenty of indoor and outdoor seating area, and very clean and tidy. Definitely recommend this place, you have to try their hot chicken!! I will definitely be back here when back in Nashville!
