"I've had every burger on Earth. Nothing can be that different..." That's a sentiment I've heard a lot, but it's completely WRONG!A burger is composed of many, many components. From the bread to the meat to the sauce to the cheese, every little variation yields a very different burger. That's why McDonald's is not Burger King or Jack in the Box. So how surprised I was to discover Hatch-It (get it?) Green Chili Burgers. I don't even know where to start because every piece is perfection. This is a little burger stand tucked into a tiny strip mall in the bowels of Phoenix, near 7th and Missouri (just north of Camelback). It has all the hallmarks of a great burger joint and boy does it deliver. The star here is the Green Chili Santa Fe burger. It's a mass of juicy, fresh, flavorful sirloin blend grilled to perfection and smothered in tasty hatch chilis. It adds a beautiful bit and gives it that very slightly Smokey, sweet chili flavor. That's topped with sliced cheese, green chili mayo, and a luxurious glop of guacamole. "That sounds great," you say. Yes it is. But... then they pile all that into the most delectable, yeasty green chili bun you've ever imagined. They make their buns here every morning and they are the perfect base for this amazing burger. Is there more? Yes!They have a Red Chile Chimayo burger that has chorizo and a slight spicy bite. It's sooooo good. Top it all with some of the best fries you've ever had. They taste like they're cooked in peanut oil which is always amazing. If that's not your thing, then try their burritos and their bowls. The pork burrito is the stuff of dreams and should be a required meal for every resident of Arizona. Their chips and salsa offer fresh homemade tomatillo and ripe tomatoes in a perfect blend of spicy and flavorful. They offer green chile toast and an incredible breakfast burrito with sausage, pork, veggies, and a lot more. Ask them for a little side of their olive oil-fried shishito peppers or their green chile butter. And if that weren't enough, they have red cream soda in their fountain!!!!!!This is a real find. It's an unassuming place that doesn't miss a beat. When you're in the mood for food that will satisfy everybody, try Hatch It. It's truly one of the best little gems in the Phoenix metro area.

This was a spot I frequent about 5 years ago with another friend who lived in the area and was also a native of New Mexico. I brought my husband - and was surprised the restaurant now has more space and shares space with the French place next door. They've used the expansion to have Hatch Retail product and some extra seating. We ordered two red Chile pork burritos and they said green chile is also in that. Which to me is sack-religious to use green chiles in red chile - like Christmas is fine but to me not mixed together. I know lots of New Mexicans do that but as someone from the hatch area I'm gonna say NO to this. We also got chips, guac and salsaGreen salsa tasted like grassRed salsa pico you would get at a a tourist trap. The burrito was also just gross. It says it has hasbrows but it's potato's and maybe two tiny bites of them ended up in the burrito - it says queso which I think is queso and not cheese and that's weird too. We spent 43.00 with a 7.00 tip and I ate four bites of my burrito. This is not a good New Mexican spot. Go to tacos kissi and you'll get a better burrito.

Just had an amazing lunch and the staff was even more amazing! It's such an adorable little place. Hubby and I shared a green chili burger, that had delicious roasted hatch chilies, and a yummy homemade sauce on it! Shared fries that my son said were better than McDonald's! Tried some new chips, a red chili and potato taco( not even on the menu but they let me order it because I thought the burrito would be too much with everything we ordered). The kids shared a plain cheeseburger and devoured it! They even had Dr. Pepper in a glass bottle! Sorry, no photos and no to go boxes, it was allllll gone!It is connected to a great little convenience store that offers, beer, wine, cheese, coffees, pastries, fresh bread AND PIZZA! You know we'll be back!

I stopped here because I wasn't hungry. Allow me to explain: As I was on my way for a coffee and pastry this morning, I saw this bright yellow trailer parked that said "Hatch" so I made a mental note to check it out sometime. Alas, although I devoured a sweet pastry and coffee, my mind kept wafting back to that word....HATCH....oh, the thought of the flavor of those chiles could wake me from slumber. Could there be a quick serve eatery dedicated to hatch green chiles? YES. Did I stop in and peruse the menu? YES. Did I tell lovely Kathy behind the register that I wasn't hungry but going to eat anyway? YES. The space of this restaurant is so eclectically decorated and multi-purpose with 2 eateries plus a bakery inside the same space. It's all fluid, like walking through someone's well-thought-after home. I ordered a taco, meandered, took a few snaps, and left with a smile.

Food, service and ambiance. Delicious posole, flavorful and spicy, but not too spicy. The meatloaf sandwich also very good. Portion is generous. Perfect for lunch. The bread is a green Chile sourdough!

I don't know how this place has four and a half stars! I went in thinking they had amazing food and because my boyfriend and I love hatch chiles! Boy was I wrong! Where do I start.... Everything is a la carte which was fine thinking the food was gonna be amazing. We decided to share a burger oh man this was the worse burger we've ever had! To start the bun was not toasted so when we got the burger, it was soggy then the meat itself didn't really look like meat. The chiles tasted like they from a can. I forced myself to eat it and my boyfriend took two bites and he got grossed out. The fries were ok. The service also was mediocre. It looked lonely inside only a couple and that was it. If I could, I'd give this place zero stars, McDonalds has better burgers than this!

We had a party of 9 and everyone's first time trying the restaurant. Staff was amazing, super friendly! We all loved our meals. Posole, green chili meatloaf, chicken salad, green chili pork burrito, Italian sandwich. Everything was HUGE!! Think everyone bought roasted chili, it is the season, fresh bread and salsa. Thanks for a Great experience. Highly recommend.

Quick line to order food. Hamburger bun freshly made and green chili on burger is flavorful with spice! We also tried some of the pastries from the bakery area. The cinnamon roll is delicious . Got extra cinnamon roll to take home! The person who waited on us in the bakery area is hospitable and friendly. Wonderful service!
