We looked at reviews and decided to try this restaurant on our way walking to the zoo. The duck bacon sounded amazing.Unfortunately, when we ordered it, we learned that it isn't served there any more. It's still listed on the menu, but the menu hasn't been updated. Overall, the meals were unimpressive. My daughter got the French toast with fruit and it looked great from a distance, but on inspection was overly cooked and the bananas were definitely on the make-into-banana-bread side of ripeness.Sweet potato hash browns were inconsistently cooked, with some undercooked starchy parts while other parts were hard and dark. I liked them, but they could have been better.My husband and I split a meal and it was nice of them to plate them separately. Glad we split it, it was substantial. The omelette was cooked perfectly, and the wheat toast was made with good bread.Our waiter seemed a little indifferent, but that's probably just Chicago. We asked him about local attractions and he was really engaging and nice and was a bright point in our breakfast experience. If the food isn't great somewhere, it usually is no fault of the server's. So I always think it's a good idea to give a better tip if the food isn't great, rather than punish them for things that are beyond their control.

If you're looking for a classic diner for breakfast, this is it!Great atmosphere and delicious breakfast food. We had French toast and turkey sausage (a little pricey for a side) and The Oldtown ( essentially a Denver omelette) and two big cups of coffee. Enjoyed our experience that was enhanced by our friendly waiter and nice vibe to the place.

I should've known this place wasn't going to be a good experience when me + 4 friends walked in on a Saturday morning and got seated right away. Our service started pretty good but got worse and worse as time went on. We got our order in right away, but our food took sooooo long to come out. After it did come out - we were never checked on by our server once and had to flag him down when we were ready for the check.We ordered a grilled chicken panini, a burger, and killer hashbrowns. It was all pretty average, but the killer hashbrowns were the best, so if you do end up going here I would consider getting those. We also got orange, juice which we were told was housemade, but when it came out, it was clear that it wasn't and that our server lied to us. This wouldn't have been a big deal if it was less expensive and our server hadn't told us they fresh squeezed it.Unfortunately, I can't say I would recommend this place at all.

Visited this restaurant for brunch on a weekend. Located in a prime spot, this restaurant offers ample space with both indoor and patio seating options. The host brought us to our table which wasn't super clean, but they were able to quickly clean it up once brought to their attention. We found the service to be slow. While the food was decent - we had scrambled eggs and Greek town omelette. The house hash browns were just okay. The freshly squeezed orange juice, unfortunately, lacked the expected freshness, tasting a tad sour.

Classic diner food. Big portions. Most of us got omelets and I recommend getting the regular hashbrowns instead of the sweet potato ones. Pretty good service for how busy it was. The ambiance was very relaxed and I would have felt comfortable in very casual clothes here.

Are the sweet potato hash browns supposed to be soggy? Not the best experience for me. We waited for a long time at our table before a waitress came over to take our drinks. When the food finally arrived, I was disappointed by the overcooked meat, overcooked eggs and soggy hash browns. The spinach stems threw off the textures a bit as well. The latte was great and the hollandaise was on point! Unfortunately, this wasn't enough for me I wouldn't recommend to a friend since there are so many others good breakfast places out there.- AT

A really classic diner environment and service with good home cooked meals! Really recommend the killer hashbrowns, tasted like a cheesy potato casserole. The omelettes and breakfast burritos are also good and there is a wide variety of ways to get them made. The portions sizes are also very large, definitely can expect leftovers.

I came to Hashbrowns for mother's day with our family and it was amazing! Our server Talia was so attentive and made our experience so enjoyable! A table near us also in her section was being incredibly rude to her and I felt so terrible because of how sweet and efficient she was. The food was amazing and I would definitely come backfor the great service :)
