it's Monday and despite dire predictions, the sun is out, the sky is blue, and over 45* in the sun. what shall we do today? hey, i noticed Harvey's Lounge (the old sign is still up) next door to Kafe Neo on Hwy 99 has reopened after nearly 3 years (Covid). i vote for a little daytime drinking and tavern snacks at the local dive. here's the scoop: it is now Harvey's Tavern under new management. as we all know, it was closed for over 2 years during the covid lockdown. then, the property owner closed it for 1 more year for a complete inside remodel. turns out it's no longer a dive. ok, it's no fancy restaurant or hotel bar, but it's clean, and bright, with new floors, a new bar counter, and non-sticky table tops. there are decent bar snacks, decent beer on tap, a clean and well-lit ladies' room, a nice pool room with booths, and a clear view of hwy 99 from the big clean front windows. no complaints from me. regulars from the previous iteration and new patrons (like us) mixed well in the bar.beer: rainier on tap-$3.50 and bud light on tap-$4.00.sports tv: i counted 8 maybe 9 TVs. they were everywhere, but the volume was kept low and not intrusive. flatbread: delicious! the property owner also owns Demitri's and Kafe Neo. the flatbread is made in Edmonds and cooked up at Harvey's in a super-duper combo air fryer. it's a bit pricey at $12 but everything costs more now, yes?Tavern Wings: another successful offering from the combo air-fryer. the buffalo sauce was not too spicy. i think it tasted like Frank's. the blue cheese dressing had real blue cheese.customers: regulars from the past and new customers were comfortable with each other. a younger group shooting pool did not disturb the quietude of the other customers.new management: Chelsea is the new manager and she is a gem. upbeat, friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. it's apparent she has been working in bartender/managment for a long time. we watched her greet 3 separate customers who were obviously regulars. she made them feel welcome and valued.I'll be back. what better way to end a lovely sunny afternoon with a few beers and some wings and flatbread.highly recommended

Came in for trivia at 7 and left at 8:45 with a party of 3 women. Bartender was polite enough but ignored us almost the whole time after getting us our first round and food order. Like 15 minutes or more with zero eye contact even when we were trying to flag her down from the other end of the bar. Told us "Let me get these guys and then I'll be with you" twice and didn't actually get us what we asked for either time until we walked over to the other side of the bar with money in hand. On a trivia night we usually get at least two rounds of drinks and like to shell out a little, but we couldn't even get an order in for soda or water because the bartender literally wouldn't look at us. Trivia ended at 8 and it took 45 minutes just to play one round of pull tabs even though it was dead, and we were brushed off when we tried to flag the bartender down to play another round. She had no problem making the rounds for all the men in the building, especially the regulars and employees, but barely gave us the time of day. Would have spent more money if we could've. Not surprised that it was still dead when we left except for employees from Kafe Neo next door and a handful of dudes. Kudos to Mark for giving good energy for the trivia.

Looking at this place from the outside I was surprised how clean and open the inside was. Tall ceilings and nice big wood bar tops. The pool tables look well maintained. There is also a beer garden in the back. They have a small bar food menu but our waiter shared that we could order or bring in outside food, but no outside drinks allowed. We stopped by for a couple drinks and pull tabs. The bartender was friendly and kept busy. We came on Cinco De Mayo weekend and they had a couple specials going on. $5 house Margarita and $3 tacos or 3 for $8. A hidden gem in my opinion. Karaoke on Thursdays and live Band with no cover on Fridays. This may change and they have them listed on a board inside. Beer selection could use an update in variety, but did have for the most part something of each kind.

A dive bar that's not a dive bar. Great spot on the 99 to have a drink, play pool and chill/party it up. Came here on an early Friday and had a good time drinking, listening to music and eating tots and corndogs.Gal behind the bar was super sweet and was speedy with service.
