Hartz Chicken Buffet

In Rosenberg running errands we were actually looking for a place to get breakfast and I happened to see this Hartz which I've been to before years ago. Don't know what possessed me but I decided to stop in at a weird hour. Right after breakfast and just before lunch. As we walked in my wife asked the young lady at the front counter what time they opened and she said 10 am! That early for a lunch buffet. Interesting. Any how the table was decked out and we were probably the first or second customer in. I was hungry and everything looked good! The chicken was actually pretty good! Good taste! The mashed potatoes, green beans and macaroni and cheese were all hot and complimented the chicken well! Hey it's a Hartz buffet!Not sure why all the other reviews were so negative. I actually found the food good. The people friendly and the place clean!These Hartz buffets are rare. You hardly see them anymore but I had always liked them. Not gourmet or high falootin' food but satisfies the appetite!As we were there, the place started filling up with locals and you can see this place is popular! I couldn't see myself eating here every day but on occasion it's a treat! I enjoyed it and you will too!

Never really dissapoints, chicken is "usually" fresh, we eat the tenders mainly and that's what goes the quickest there so they are always fresh. This time we had to wait a littke bit for some more of them, like i said they are the best there.Rolls are always awesome, Buttery and fluffy! The sides are great never the same other than the normals: mashed potatoes, gravys, beans rice... this time they had green bean casserole which was great, corn, chicken tomato stew, some cornbread, and this stuffing (unfortunately was dry) In love with the pico de gallo there so yummy.. I like spicy. Now if only they had spicy choice of the tenders I would be great. The place is clean, staff is very friendly and quick, they talk amongst each other loudly, but it doesn't bother me because if I went up there they stopped and attened to whomever was there. (This seemed to bother the table next to me.. I just rolled my eyes, they whete laughing and having fun no worries)The jello with fruit was awesome, my husband enjoyed that!Price for two adults was 22.00 sometimes i have a coupon which makes it under 20.00.. not a fancy place but worth what you pay for..

I only go to Hartz for the fried chicken livers and gizzards. They're the only place I know of locally that sells them. Those I would give 5 stars. On Tuesdays, this location offer's them for $1 off. The rest of the food is typical Southern fare, but is fairly bland. If you get there, shortly after opening, all of the steam table food is fresh.

Everything was very fresh. Great selection. Definitely a fair price. Staff was friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back. Several options for chicken. Green beans were like grandmas. It isn't fancy and neither am I. We will be back.

Will never eat here again. Called a order in. Was told 10 min. Got there in 20 just to wait 10 more min and watch her make my order off of the buffet.

This place has really improved since the new owners took over!! The service, and the chicken is really much better!!! NO more rude employees and they are actually open the hours they post.

I just stoped here to get a quick bite and it did not disappoint. The customer service is top notch and I saw one of the employees help carry out an order with an elderly lady. It's clean with staff always checking on the bar to make sure nothing is in disarray and my food came out fairly quickly. I'll definitely be coming back with friends and an empty stomach.

The best chicken ever ! Never have a disappointment at Hartz Chicken! Love the pinto beans and the fresh mashed potatoes and the wonderful hot Rolls

It has improved since change in ownership but last week we went for the buffet and the chute that delivers ice to your cup had slime in it. Could use a good cleaning before someone gets sick.

Currently drive thru only. The water in the soda taste horrible, chicken tenders are too large/ less flavor. Just not what is used to be
