This is a Chicago staple and it had been a few years since I had been here because I didn't care for my food the last time I did a carry out order.Being from Chicago I get cravings for certain foods I grew up on and Harold's Chicken is one of them. I recently had a craving for some Harold's chicken wings with mild sauce, so I decided to give them another try for dinner. It was a Friday night and it was the best dinner decision I was happy I made. I placed an online order of six wings with mild sauce on everything (wings and fries) and no coleslaw. I also ordered the small chicken livers with the sauce only on the fries with no coleslaw. The chicken wings were a perfect size, not tiny and not jumbo. Right in-between. Meaty and tender yet crispy batter on the outside. They were cooked just right and so were the fries. The oil that the food was cooked in was fresh and I could tell by the color and taste of the food. It was so delicious that it took me back down memory lane of when I lived in Chicago having Harold's Chicken with my family. The chicken livers were good, but were a little on the salty side. The inside of the restaurant was clean and tidy. Mike who greeted me as I came in the restaurant and also gave me my order was very kind and friendly.

Food is good but for some reason it tastes better in Chicago, where it originated from... Just like everything else the price of all fast food has gone up... You might have a short weight but that's a good thing because I mean they're cooking it fresh

The staff was friendly, and you know that your food is made fresh. I felt the meal that I got, which was a shrimp and wing combo shrimp had absolutely no flavor. They were just simply fried and my chicken was also lacking in flavor even putting in the hot sauce or the other sauce, may have been some type of mild sauce because it had almost a sweet flavor to. It didn't help either the shrimp or the chicken. I don't know it could've been an off day in the kitchen because a lot of people seem to love this food. I'm just not one of them. As far as the french fries go, they were very basic and lacked salt. Unsure if I would return to give them another shot

I just got take out from this place and the chicken is tender, juicy, crispy and flavorful. I got the cat/wing combo because I've never tried catfish and it was nice and crispy and lite. I used Louisiana hot sauce on both and it was FIRE. Big shoutout to the team at Harold's thank you for the lovely meal.

Chicken and fries were mid. Service was good. Ambiance seems to be like a family owned shop. Nothing to rave about but their sauce compliments the chicken well!

Horrible service. Didn't even get to ordering as we called 3 times and the phone just rang endlessly. Arrived to just place a take out order. Only a mother and daughter eating and cashier who was texting on her phone couldn't even muster a smile or hello until it came from us. When we asked for a moment to look over the menu she went back to texting and just walked away from the counter. Will not be back. No wonder you have a low rating. No reason to not answer your phone especially if you only have one customer. We wanted to support a local business but this isn't the one to do that with. 1star only cause Yelp makes you.

The service was superb. My food was cooked fresh and delicious. Wish there was more coleslaw, but it was good. The place was clean but outdated. I can tell takeout is their thing.

Wow. I've slept on this for almost two years and just now tried it out.Great fried chicken. Fries are super crispy. Catfish and shrimp are some of the best I've ever had in a restaurant. And it might be the only place in Phoenix you can get properly cooked chicken liver.Only complaint is they need a better beverage selection, but that is fairly trivial.

I am a HUUUGE fried chicken fan, so when I heard about a chicken place I've never tried, I had to go, even though it was an hour drive from where we live. We got a 4 piece mixed chicken, which came with a lot of fries and the tiniest little container of coleslaw I've ever seen. Also ordered the "giblets", which is mixed chicken gizzards and livers, again with a generous amount of fries. Finally, we got a piece of catfish. I wanted the perch, but they were out (Which, come on. You have 4 things on the menu, don't be out of 25% of your offerings). Drink selections are pretty basic, just a few cans of what appeared to be whatever soda was on sale when they went to the store this morning. With everything it came out to a little over $35.00, which is pretty reasonable. The catfish was delicious. A huge portion. Cooked perfectly, juicy fish with a crispy cornmeal crust.Unfortunately, the catfish was the only thing that was cooked well. Everything else was overcooked. The chicken livers were so dry I could barely eat them. the gizzards were hard and tough. the chicken was overcooked and dry. I say unfortunately, because the flavors were there. If they had been cooked properly it would have been a tasty meal. And we wouldn't have had to wait almost a half hour to get it!

I'm from the south side of Chicago. Born and raised eating Harold's in Chicago. The food isn't anywhere near where it originated. This is a joke compared to the original Harold's. I cook chicken better myself honestly so I'll be saving my money from now on! Either put more effort into the food quality and service or stop ruining a classic Chicago brand. Stop serving old fish and chicken wings thinking that someone who's been eating chicken their entire life can't tell.
