HAP's Burgers & Taps

Burgers are decent. They don't quite hit the spot, but they'll work in a pinch. The three star review here (wish I could give 3.5) is mostly because of their asinine policy of not taking orders over the phone. What is the point of closing online ordering an hour before actual close and forcing people to come in to place an order? Why even let your employees pick up the phone at all if you don't trust them to take a simple order for one cheeseburger (no fries either) over the phone? The lack of tact and basic human skills is disappointing to me. Look, I get it - it's 2024 and you're not the only restaurant that is getting lazier and lazier, but cmon. Doing the least is never a good look...but what do I know? I only grew up working in a family restaurant in a tourist-heavy location from the age of 10, so I guess my standards for service are a bit higher.

My favorite place in Mercer Island. No fuss, just great food. You must get a dipping sauce for the fries. My favorite is a haps burger with fries and garlic aïoli. Last year they had a huckleberry milkshake that rocked my socks off. I am not doing dairy right now so I can't tell you what flavors they have, but get one!

First time visitor to this island staple! I enjoyed the burger wrapped in butter lettuce. So good! And washed it down with a great strawberry shake. The servers were super friendly. Will definitely come back on the future!

Fun place to have a burger and fries. The restaurant is in an old gas station/garage, which makes it different than many burger joints, and gives an interesting ambiance if you dine there. Service was fast and friendly, burgers are good. Fries are not my favorite item on the menu. They have fountain drinks along with beer and wine. Worth a stop if you are on Mercer Island.

Fantastic local burger and beer place in Mercer Island. Meats are sourced from WA state and ingredients super fresh. Prices were very competitive, and ambiance casual with plenty of covered seating. Loved the HAP burger, fries, and draft beer selection. Milkshakes looked delectable and will need to be tried next time. Service is speedy and kind.Will def come back!

Best burger on Mercer Island. Great service. Excellent beers in tap and a cooler full! Ciders and craft beers. Fresh and fast and cool vibes. The restaurant is warm and cozy and a huge outside area too. The enclosed patio outside has heaters too which they currently did not have on. Your want a burger? Come here! Now. My local burger restaurant is an understated gem on Mercer Island. I live in an apartment complex nearby (walking distance) and typically prefer takeout, however, burgers and beers in their outdoor seating venue is unique, clean and simple. The food is top notch. Burgers are one of my favorite indulgences, and this won my heart the first night I had moved to the island. Their special sauce, add on, fries and shakes blow away any fast food chain in comparison. HAP's have become one of my favorites on Mercer Island!

A fun little filling station turned burger stand. Friendly employees were eager to help us out with the menu and guide us in the right direction with the kiosk. We had a chicken sandwich, a few burgers, and a BLT, all with some fries on the side. The blt was especially delicious, made with some great toasted sourdough and a delicious mayo. A nice variety of beers on tap or canned, with some soda and shakes to round it out.

Stopped by HAP's Burgers & Taps for the first time and was amazed. They have gluten free fries, allergy protocols, and amazing gluten free buns. The fries were so thick and well seasoned, made only better by the different dipping sauces, all homemade. They have a wide selection of local beers, ciders, and seltzers, including a lot of companies I haven't heard of before. I can't wait to go back!

Food, service and ambiance are FIVE STARS! We were looking for a lunch place and found Hap's. You place your order on a tablet. Very easy. Loved the cheeseburger! Soft potato bun, patty was flavorful with fresh lettuce and tomato. My hubby had the BLTA! Wow! Thick crispy bacon, generous amount of avocado plus fresh lettuce and tomato. The fries!!!! Hot, crispy and thick!! Get Hap's sauce for dipping.Fabulous staff!!! A+ service. Loved the vibe in a re-purposed gas station. When in Mercer Island or nearby-don't miss Hap's.
