Totally completely loaded with people! I wanted to sit away from everyone so i had to ask twice for a table and wait for it to be cleaned which i don't mind. A girl was dancing while eating her food so she must be happy! That brought me hope!I heard other people talk on Yelp (always checking the reviews first ) about how friendly the server was, and I saw it! Melissa was ON THE BALL!!! She never stopped moving and was attentive yet not intrusive! The other girl was great too! What's amazing is this entire Mekong Plaza is like a huge Asian food court heaven ! I even saw Taiwanese food! The smells that waft over you, as you walk up are quite heavenly! There aren't any bathrooms in the restaurant, but there are two "food court" restaurants nearby. This place was sooooo packed with people, it was nice to see so many out! Lots of kids eating too! I thought it was pretty clean everywhere and it seemed like more businesses are going up because there were unpacked boxes across the hall from Bao's. The decor is simple, but pretty. The music was low. Clean. The people who work here NEVER stop moving! They were bussing the tables right away, while preparing orders to go as well! Time to EAT!!! Yayyyyy! The heat from the freshly cooked bao buns could be felt as she lay my plate down! Very pretty presentation! The dumpling sauce was flavorfullyvsyrong, nice. The chili oil was spicyyyy, but yummy. I haddddd to cut the bao in half! Just to share what it looked like! The toasted sesame seeds were so nice! I was expecting a sweeter flavor, but it was so savory, moist and all around perfect! I tried it with the sauce, but I think i prefer no sauce (for once) . If i could eat one thing for the REST of my life , i think i would TOTALLY choose this house fried rice! Just look at the big shrimp! Nice and clean!! I've had Chinese sausage a millllionnnnn times, but i wonder why this one tasted so much better? My goodness!!!! I could order this EVERY WEEK and not tire of it! I would say it's a DEFINITE YESSSSSS!!! Yaassssss!!!! Yes, Gurl, yes! Totally recommend and LOVE!!! I can't wait to try other things on the menu!

How can you not be happy eating at a place called Happy Bao's! Went there on Friday to start our date night. We ordered the combo Bao so I could try the vegetarian, Bao. I found it a bit plain, and think if I added soy sauce or chili sauce, I would have enjoyed it more. The combo also came with pork and chicken with a total of 6 Bao's. We ended up taking two Boa's home. For my main meal, I had veggie noodles. I added two chili sauces to it. I felt with it being veggie they missed the mark on not adding broccoli or thicker slices of carrots. I ate half and took the rest home and added broccoli and carrots to it the next day and voila it was perfect. The staff was fantastic, especially since it was dinnertime. The restaurant was packed so we ended up eating out in the food court. It was a better experience I think than eating inside as it was quiet and not crowded.

My wife and I came here on a Saturday for lunch at 11:15 AM. It got busier shortly after we were seated, but service didn't slow down. My wife ordered the Xiao Long Baos, I ordered the Beef Noodle Soup, and we shared the Chili Dumplings. The beef in my Beef Noodle Soup was disappointing, it was mostly connective tissue with bits of meat. However, the broth was tasty and the noodles were al dente. The chili dumplings had some heat but not enough to make your nose run. The XLBs were like flavor bombs in my mouth and were surprisingly filling. My stomach was Happy with these Baos!

Wow! So much to say about Happy Bao's. One, so grateful to have had such amazing service both on the phone and in person when picking up my order. Alexis was so fast and helpful. The location is inside a market plaza with other restaurants and treats. An Asian market and little tables and booths with things for sale. The whole experience was actually very fun. As for this dish, being my first, but far from my last visit, I chose a staple knowing I would be writing this review. And wow, so so happy with my choice. I don't think I've ever eaten a fried rice that tasted so clean, was not too salty but still had bacon and pork bits. Side note: I also ordered this dish to share with my children and IT WAS A HIT. My one year old could not get enough, veggies and all. The Thai tea was the perfect balance of sweetness and milk. Very excited to try a few other menu items I had my eye on and I won't be sharing haha

I have heard of this place before and was so happy that Yelp had an elite event here! We ended up choosing the cucumber salad (#1), house dumplings (#8), pork dumplings (#18), and spicy beef noodle soup (#22). The cucumber salad was refreshing and delicious- the sesame oil really brought it together. We've tried a lot of cucumber salads and this one is definitely among the top 3. My personal favorite dumplings were the house dumplings, but my husband's were the pork dumplings! Both were good, but they weren't especially flavorful. The bottoms of the pork dumplings were a little gummy. The beef noodle soup is to DIE for! In fact I almost died because I choked on the broth. (To be fair I was guzzling it straight from the cup.) It would have been worth it if that was my last meal... We dipped everything we ordered into the flavorful broth! It was spicy but we could have done with even more spice! We came during a busy time; service was rushed. But it was understandable considering how busy it was. Our food was ready before they said it would be done! The restaurant is definitely very tiny. Plan for a busy feel and crowded area if you come during dinner time. We took our food to the food court to eat in a little less packed space. It was a blast to walk around the Asian market while we waited. It took about 25 minutes for our food to be ready!I definitely recommend Happy Bao's!

4.5 Stars. I came into Happy Bao's on a Friday night. I opted to get my food to go since it was busy & they had a 20 minute wait. The place seemed very popular & it was inviting. All the team members I spoke with were really nice. I ordered the Beef Chow Fun & the Pork & Chive Dumplings. The dumplings were really good & tasted fresh. The Beef Chow Fun was a large portion, had a good consistency & a decent amount of beef but it was lacking flavor a bit though & if I would dined in I would have asked for more sauce to add to it's flavor. I will definitely be back again to try out some of their other dishes because they looked great.

While not initially impressed, my 2nd visit to Happy Bao has been quite redeeming. I think I was harsh the first time around since I had their soup dumplings and I felt I had had much better elsewhere. But this visit I tried other menu items and they were quite tasty. Their regular dumplings were great. While my fiance felt their wrapper was a little too thick, I thought it was fine. My fiancés beef noodle soup was super flavorful and the beef really tender and good. My lamb noodle soup had a great flavor but I wish it was more concentrated. It tasted as though it was somewhat watered down. Overall very satisfying food!

So went for lunch with high expectations and was not disappointed - we ordered the Pork Sheng Jian Bao and Dumpling sampler.First the aroma was a pure delight then biting into the light airy Bao flavorful Boa was pure bliss. Next came the Dumpling sampler platter and all we could do was savor each tasty bite - all flavors were light airy filled with perfect amount of mixture - also recommend getting your own house chilli sauce because one was not enough for 2 it was that good - cannot wait to go back and try more items in their menu - the perfect Friday fun - the wait staff was help ful and attentive as well

I've been waiting a long time to try this place and I'm so happy I did! I was lucky and arrived right before the last table was taken and right before a waitlist was started. I was quickly seated and given water, utensils, and sauces. I ordered the spicy wonton dumplings and the mixed bao. The spicy wontons came out first. I am giving this place 4 stars because they were slightly cold and not as spicy as I expected even when adding extra chili. The Baos were 2 chicken, 2 pork, and 2 veggie. All of them were warm and so good! I thought I was pretty skilled with chopsticks until I encountered these lol they are a great size. Surprisingly, the veggie one was my favorite! This place is inside of a plaza with lots of other restaurants but people were flocking here. After tasting the bao, I can see why! The shop is small but they have some seating outside too.
