Hanna's Creamery & Cafe

We stopped in here while school shopping. My daughter and I both had mint n chip ice cream topped off with Ferraro Gelato. Absolutely delicious!!! They also have macaroons and super fancy tasty desserts and truffles.

During my visit at Westfield University Town Center (UTC) in La Jolla, I had passed by this Hanna's Creamery & Cafe on my way in. I didn't go inside, but on my way out, something pulled me in. I am so glad it did.It's a cute and fun cookies, drinks, ice cream, and goodies shop... just a little of everything. Counter was full of different kinds of sweet treats. In the back and side walls, there were soft plushies, fun cups, and misc souvenirs for purchase. I found a cup of love with a wonderful quote. I bought it... I feel it was the thing that pulled me in. I also got some truffle chocolates... most of them were way too sweet for my taste... there were a couple good ones though.Staff was friendly. Service was quick. Prices were a little bit high. Ambiance is very comfy. Lots of inside seating. It's really a fun place to check out when you're visiting UTC. Enjoy your visit!

I've heard great things about this creamery at UTC! Sadly, the ice cream did not live up to the 'hype.' The interior of the place was oddly VERY HOT. For a creamery it was like walking into an oven and they had fans going above you, just moving the heat around. Next, the space is pretty lovely. It's just a bit dark even though it's super bright and sunny outside. They have plenty of seating. A little odd, but cute with the stuffed animals. We tried the honey lavender and I can strongly suggest you skip this flavor. It is very pretty in color. The lavender flavor is way too strong and it reminds me of lavender bath products. The honey was non existent. Overall, it was not a good balanced flavor. If you want this flavor, Salt & Straw has it. We wanted to try a new ice cream place and sadly this one didn't compare to the other ice cream places that are available at UTC. I didn't try the other flavors, but perhaps it was better: salted caramel, hazelnut chocolate, coconut... Maybe the non floral ones is what they are known for? This place wasn't for me. They have a lot of other items here, so it's probably perfect to take little kids to enjoy!

Will keep this short:Immaculate and friendly service but the famous rolled croissant looked better than it tasted. Got the sampler (pistachio, bischoff, nutella, vanilla) and only tried the nutella which the icing was fine but the croissant itself was on the dry side. Expectations were high and it fell short in the flavor and texture categories.

Love the size of the cookies here. I like the texture of the cookie and how it is kind of ooey gooey but also crispy on the edges. A single cookie is worth $3.99 which is on the more expensive side but is pretty worth it for a sweet treat. The gelato is also constantly mixing which I think is cool and makes the texture of the ice cream really nice! The ice cream was around $6 for a small portion. We also got an affogato which was around $10, somewhat pricey. My family wasn't super wow'd by it but we still enjoyed it. The inside of the place is very big and has a lot of seating! It is very open and the ceilings are tall. There is very little staff here, however they are attentive and fast.

Incredible ice cream and croissants. I love that they offer vegan ice cream, and every flavor of them is delicious (mango, piña colada, and coconut all are amazing). They might be a little sweet for some, though. The croissants come in several flavors but the ones I tried were the lotus cookie and the pistachio. Both were just exquisite. Even without the flavoring they would be good- you just might catch me ordering one plain if they let me next time.

A very cute/pastry-aesthetic cafe located in Westfield San Diego. Literally came here on a whim and I decided to buy a small cake. Aside from pastries and cakes, they have ice cream that's churning in front of you which is pretty cool. I ended up getting The Cloud ($9.99) and it basically is a matcha cake with cherry blossom mousse, cherry blossom coulis, and raspberry jelly. This was a pretty cool cake! Very soft, airy, and it has such a smooth texture. It was quite sweet but each layer of the cake definitely complimented one another. But if you choose to get this one, make sure you refrigerate it or else the structure of the cake begins to disassemble. But aside from that, they have an array of other goodies and it's a cool stop to come by.

Passed by this place a couple times at Westfield UTC and finally came in because it looked so cutesy on the inside. Saw those spiral croissants and knew we had to try it out!I know there's some other fancy pertisseries that have it in San Diego, but we were right here and thought ee might as well give it a go.Person in front of us took the last one but they told us they would have more in about an hour. So we came back! Came back for that rolled croissant and it was a really good decision!Got that pistachio one and took it to go.Added about an hour later and it was still so fresh and crispy!Crispy croissant on the outside and that beautiful, smooth pistachi filling on the inside. Had a bunch of pistachios on top as well and the combination was so nice.It was also very light and husband and I split it but could totally have finished one of our own!Definitely recommend coming here.

Hanna's is my favorite patisserie. I go almost every day before when I take gym classes at the 24 hour fitness there. I love everything they do, but especially the jesuïtes pastries. They are so delicious! Also the cronuts are amazing, all of them. I can recommend the chocolate and the pistachio ones. It is a perfect place to chat with friends or a date over coffee and sweets. Remember to ask for your discount if you work at the mall and if you go very often!
