Handoo Korean Bbq

I LOVE Handoo Kbbq!! The meats and sides are super flavorful and the service quick!We came around 6:30pm on a Saturday and barely beat the late dinner weekend rush. We had to wait for the rest of our party to arrive to be seated. No reservations and you can't check in on the waitlist on the phone.Key points about this place:-They are open until midnight -The parking lot is small so you may have to park in the area and take a quick walk-Right next door to Sunday Ice Cream if you're craving a sweet treat after-Fair price AYCE basic menu-Indoor and partially outdoor seating-They always play good music-You are able to order as much meats and sides as you want at a time-Last call is a few minutes right before you hit the 2 hour mark (our party was seated for 2 hours and 30 mins total which is way more than enough time to eat and catch up with friends)I always find myself coming back to this kbbq location when I want to have a stress free experience. I have had some great memories with great people here.

Handoo is my go-to spot for Korean Bbq. The price, the food quality, the service. On. Point. We went on a super busy afternoon and there were only two people running the front of house so as expected, service was a little slow (we needed to really try to flag down our server for stuff). Even so, our grill was changed regularly, we got everything we wanted to order, sauces refilled when requested, and water refilled when empty. Overall the dining experience was pleasant. I've been here on busy days, empty days, and quality is always consistent which is nice. You go in knowing exactly how your dining experience will be and that's a truly good sign when it comes to a kbbq place. Solid staple. Oh, and the happy birthday track playing on loop was funny. We have been trying different AYCE Korean BBQ spots in Convoy and this one has its own charms. The parking lot is a little crazy but you can either park on one of the side streets or in another plaza that allows parking for other restaurants. The restaurant itself is really well ventilated. I don't think I've been to a Korean BBQ spot that wasn't super smoky inside and they didn't even have one of those vents above the grills. I only saw male employees there and they were working HARD. Every single person was checking on all the tables whether it was grabbing more orders or refilling banchan or cleaning up. They worked super fast and our orders came to our table quickly.We got the basic set menu A since we pretty much order the same things every time. The meat was fresh and all their seasoned meat was marinated well. Favorite was the beef bulgogi. It was the perfect amount of seasoning and not too fatty. I also love that they have pickled radish wraps since it's a nice low carb option compared to rice paper. The steamed egg was good and I especially liked the spicy soft tofu soup. They used shredded beef so it was almost like a a yukgaejang soondoobu. We reordered the kimchi a few times and the salad and these guys were so quick. The portions are not too overwhelming so you can try a lot of different items without getting too full.The price is about average with how much AYCE Korean BBQ is nowadays, the service was absolutely fantastic and we ate til we were stuffed. Great experience.

Being in town for the convention SDCC, i always try to pop into as many KBBQ as we can handle just because it's better out here normally than back home.We arrived here late night, it was popping, people coming in and out. It's in the strip plaza and looks to be a popular spot. We were seated promptly and the menu was easy to read. Pricing for AYCE spot was good in my opinion and we were attended to quickly. My lady liked the tofu soup with steamed egg in clay pot which she likes to mix. Got a couple of those.The cheese corn was also well balanced, we got japchae by the bowl because it was yummy and noodles cooked well.The proteins, we got a bunch of each but from the "A" menu our favorite was the marinated beef rib meat. The spicy pork's were good too, had more of a peppery note to it for some reason but overall enjoyable. The brisket comes out super thin like the hot pot beef, which sticks real fast to the heat top. The staff was pretty quick changing out or pan for fresh grilling. You get water pitcher on the table as well.I didn't get our order of the spicy butter but that's alright, we enjoyed our meal with full tummy's! Will be back when in town again!For AYCE and quality speed service and good tasting proteins, can't complain much.Good space, restrooms, and multiple staff checking on your table as a team. Came here on a weekend between lunch and dinner. I was seated immediately with my husband at a two seater. Prices are similar to Manna and it's an all you can eat establishment. Salad was phenomenal and their kimchi was fantastic. The kimchi was hot and spicy for people who can actually tolerate spice. I wanted to take a jar of it home. Meats are your standard options. Their Bulgolgi was just okay. Beef belly, pork belly etc were great. Dipping sauce was just okay as well. Steamed egg was delicious and fluffy. This is a great option to try amongst the many competing places in the area. Friendly staff!

I would say the meats were pretty solid. Compared to other KBBQ places, the unlimited side options were fewer. The service of the staff was pretty attentive, though. I would say this is in my top 5 KBBQ places in San Diego, but definitely not my most favorite.

I was craving KBBQ & Handoo seemed pretty good so we decided to head on over. Handoo is AYCE, with two AYCE options: Menu A & Menu B. Menu A is $29.99/person and allows you to order any of the meats #1-17 & Menu B is $35.99/person, allowing you to order any of the meats the offer #1-28. Side dishes are also unlimited. We decided to go with Menu A and ordered a couple meats to start. Our favorite was the #17 marinated beef ribs. Our least favorite was the beef brisket, which was recommended by our server; it is basically just hotpot meat & is pretty difficult to cook because it just sticks to the grill. Very quick, speedy service. Once you place your order of meats, they are brought to you almost immediately. I really enjoyed the banchan, especially the japchae! I probably asked for more japchae like 6-7 times because it was so addicting. The tofu stew is also yummy here. I got the steamed egg & added the egg to the tofu stew & it was chef's kiss!

Handoo is easily one of the TOP KBBQ spots in San Diego. The service is always fast and efficient. The vibes are always on point. The meat quality is perfect, especially my all time fave: their beef belly. I've been going here for so many years now and they NEVER disappoint.We usually finish all the bonchon because it's so bomb lol. The house salad is always a hitter. They never run out of rice paper, like several other places I won't name. If you don't leave here smelling like kbarbs, you're doing it wrong.

Great Service, good food.And this place is none stops. And the crew work like a team.
