If you are in the south loop of chicago and are looking for a relaxed fun and welcoming atmosphere, this restaurant is for you. their outdoor seating is very cute and their bar and indoor seating has a homely feel. Their restaurant is very pet friendly, they even have dog treats outside, so if you pick out the right seat you can see a bunch of cute furry friends while you dine.all of their appetizers are great, but the cheese curds are absolutely delicious and a great snack to share with friends. the latkes are also a snack to share or eat alone. their matzo ball soup is soul warming and great if you are in need of a light but filling meal. their service is fast and all of the workers are very friendly and kind, they offered us free refills which was an unexpected but appreciated surprise.Their brunch menu seemed very nice and i would definitely come back with friends to try it out.

I am a huge Half Sour fan! I've been many times since moving to the South Loop/Printers Row area a few years ago and have never been disappointed (except one time when they were actually out of half sour pickles, but I've gotten over that). Their bagel chips are out of this world! Any dip we've had them with (artichoke or salmon) is just stellar. Our favorite is the salmon dip - it's super rich and creamy and full of that salmony goodness. I'm also a fan of their namesake half sour pickles. I'm a sucker for most pickled vegetables, and they do a great job with their cucumbers. I'll also give a shout out to their fried chicken sandwiches (any of them) - they're all fantastic. Juicy chicken, flavorful batter and spices, just a winner every time. If there's anything to skip here, in my opinion it's the latkes. There are better places in the area to get them and better things on the menu to try. They also have a great beer selection and tons of weekly events. All in all, a great place and I'll be back again soon!

Holy moly stopping here on a whim was such a great decision. I was literally standing at the intersection of Polk and Clark debating which of the surrounding restaurants I should go to. Not sure what drew me to this one (probably the cool font/logo) but I'm so glad I came here. The menu gave me a lot of decision fatigue, but I ultimately decided on the chicken sandwich and fries. DELICIOUS. The chicken was perfectly fried and juicy and the fries were crispy and hot. I savored every bite. It was one of those meals that you don't want to end. My server was so nice and so was the bartender who first greeted me when I came in. The credit card system wasn't working, but they made it easy to pay. I had my lunch next to the window, watching people and relishing in the sun and fresh air. This was definitely one of my top meals on my visit to Chicago.

Cheese curds are a must. Crispy, great portion and tastes so good!! was excited for their drinks, maybe we ordered wrong but the two we got were underwhelming (spill the tea and pickletini). Our friend's early wedding drink was good though

We stumbled upon this place while out exploring and given it was time for lunch we thought we would check it out. I loved the interior feel which was a mix of a bar with a high end coffee shop/brunch spot. It was long and narrow with dark paneling but had tons of light so it didn't feel dark, more intimate and cozy. You can sit anywhere so we found a table near the kitchen to view the street and people watch, and hitch is an added bonus of this location as it is on the way to a local park. The waitress was prompt and friendly even in the midst of their rush. I ordered their house made ginger lemonade and it came almost immediately. It was delicious and a huge favorite. I would highly recommend it! A thirst quencher for sure. The menu was brunch at the time but you could also order lunch. We opted for rosemary hash and latkes, as those are things we don't make at home ourselves. Very fresh tasting despite being fried. I was very surprised by how light and airy they tasted d, and how the spicy honey pushed the latkes to even more flavor. The hash was plentiful and had perfectly cooked eggs on top (runny just as expected). Very delicious food!We would return and maybe try other options, but did love what we tried. A fun and festive vibe and a great place to eat with friends or have a drink.

On our visit to Chicago, our bartender recommended we try Half Sour! As a chicken sandwich stan and newbie to pickles, this was a dream come true.We were able to seat ourselves at a hightop near the bar and although it was extremely crowded, we were served relatively quickly. To drink, we had waters, a "spicy" margarita, and an old fashioned. I say "spicy" because I'm pretty sure a jalapeño was just in the room when they made it. HOWEVER. The half sours (not pictured bc we demolished them) were so flavorful, a good amount of spice, and delightfully crisp. The Triple XXX was the star of the show, though. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and juicy. I wasn't able to finish mine, so come by when you're hungry!!

Consistent as always.Drinks - 4.5/5. Got a sour and IPA that were both great. The draft list is relatively short, but we'll curated.Rosemary Hash - 4/5. Strong savory option. Garlic aioli shines.Banana Bread Donut - 3/5. Fun to try. Filled with cream. Solid but wouldn't get again. Didn't get to eat the pecan donut fresh but it seemed great, which reinforces my high view of their donuts.Cinnamon Roll - 2.5/5. Wouldn't get again. Not particularly right on texture or frosting.

I visited this place after an event and sat at the bar with my friend. I ordered the smoked salmon dip with the lavender haze cocktail, both of which were delicious. We were lucky to find seats at the bar, and the bartender even let us sample some of the drafts before making our purchase. The ambiance was lively, with TVs showing the latest sports and music playing throughout the restaurant. I'll definitely visit again, and my friend enjoyed her food as well. I opted for the appetizer as my entrée, so I have leftovers that I think will be great for another day. Street parking was plentiful as we visited in the evening. I appreciated that they were open late, as some of the other restaurants we wanted to try had already closed their kitchens.

Quality little restaurant/bar located near Printer's Row. It's got good food at non expensive prices. I did the BALT sandwich with fries, quite tasty. And then they have a pretty good craft beer list, on top of the other usual drinks. I know they have trivia events sometimes that my friends have done. It's got a nice cozy feel, probably one of my preferred spots in the area. I'm sure I'll be back again, either to eat or just grab a drink.
