Haley.Henry Wine Bar was put on my radar because it was nominated by the James Beard Foundation for its wine program. I went at 4p on a Friday (after work) and it wasn't terribly busy. It's located on a quiet street and has indoor/outdoor seating.I asked my server what wines she recommended, and she brought me three that she was enjoying (a white, rosé, and orange). I ordered a white to go along with my deviled eggs. I appreciated the server's knowledge on both the food and wine menu and was able to provide suggestions on what I was thinking of ordering. The plan had originally been to only stay for a glass of wine and a light app, but was enjoying the vibe, food, and wine that I decided to stay for a very early dinner. I also ordered Muva's beef sliders. With a new wine pairing I ordered the ceviche (that later complimented my desert of the key lime panna cotta and honey combe).I would recommend Haley.Henry, and will be back for either wine or wine and dinner. Really enjoyed the wine, food, and knowledgeable server.

I have overall positive opinions about this wine bar - there's a wide variety of wines, and I did end up finding a handful of reds I enjoyed, but the staff comes off a bit pretentious. When picking a wine, we'd tell our server what types of wine we generally gravitate towards (dry vs sweet vs fruity vs rich, etc.) and every time they came back with a recommendation, it was very off. Honestly, I'd feel guilty tasting too many, where I just lied and said I liked a wine just to stop rejecting the samples lol. There were times I went with the menu description and was happy with my order. One time we got an app that seemed very clever - canned oysters on a potato chip, but they served it with butter. When I asked why the butter, when the potato chip was oily enough, they said because of 'merica. Funny! But also, the butter was not needed. I think it was a homemade butter, so they wanted to showcase their ingredients, but it seemed random. I think it's a cool atmosphere and a cool concept, but for the price, I think the menu could be more thoughtful. All that said, I would come back again!

I had been to nathalie (haley.henry's sister restaurant) and enjoyed it but this was an even better experience! Walking in you can feel the similarities between the two but Haley.henry feels more down to earth and less pretentious. As a self proclaimed ignoramus of wine, the single spaced page that constitutes their wine menu is certainly overwhelming but the staff can do an excellent job of pointing out stand out wines. We tried a half bottle of a sparkling red and a couple of "by the glasses" by staff recommendation - all of which were delicious and fit our plates well. The deviled eggs were also very good, but their food menu is definitely a little pricey. My friend and I were here for a solid few hours (on a Thursday night without a reservation) and while there was a steady flow of people around us, we never felt rushed and always felt attended to!

Absolutely adore how intimate cozy and ups ale while slightly casual this place feels. The wine list is phenomenal and the cheeses I had were delicious. The open kitchen is a lovely touch and everyone working was wonderful. I will say definitely make a reservation. Squeezing me in at 5 on a Wednesday as just one with no res was tough but they were very warm and accommodating and even helped me pick a seat that would let me stay the longest without being reserved by someone else which is so thoughtful! I do wish the food menu wasn't a QR code but the wine menu is printed. I just am a QR code hater but it's all great. I'd be excited to have the tinned fish next time bc I am a tin girlie through and through.

Haley Henry is an incredible wine bar in downtown Boston, it's a great location for the summer because they have a ton of outdoor seating which is lovely. The wine list was great and all the staff was very knowledgeable and made great recommendations. Food was delicious as well, albeit a bit overpriced for the portion size at times. I'd definitely recommend this spot!

Haley.Henry is a women-owned and inspired wine bar that has a casual, chic vibe without being pretentious or overly pricey for new and undiscovered wines. I've been here a few times now, but they consistently surprise me with wines and vineyards that I have never heard of or known about. While you can find many of the popular styles and types of wines here, do not expect to see any Mondavi or Josh cellar wines on their menu. They tend to center their offerings around women-owned vineyards or wine makers.Don't allow this to skew your expectations or increase skepticism about their wine selection though, as many of them are better than most wines I've had over the past few decades across the world. It's also an amazing opportunity to learn and chat about wine you may not be familiar with, such as the increasingly popular orange wines or grapes available in only a few regions of the world.HH may be the most interesting and well run wine bar in Boston, which is why they always seem to appear on the James Beard nominations and/or finalist lists in New England and MA. If that's not enough to get you through the door, then I don't know if it is going to be a place you would enjoy or appreciate. However, don't let this deter you if you are intimidated by the world of wine or women-owned bars and wines. They've proven that they can match or exceed any of their male counterparts and even educate you in a more approachable manner than many other places I have been. If you're looking for a good wine bar in Boston, HH is the apex of what Beantown has to offer!

I visited here on a rainy Saturday afternoon with a friend from work. It started off great but ended strange, leaving a bad taste. When I walked in, I was immediately enamored with the decor. It is quaint and cute but has fun details like the coffins above the bar of their broken wine openers and the back of the bathroom door as a chalk board for messages. The bartender guided us through what wines we might like based on our preferences and let us try a sip of a few before determining which one we would like a glass of. We decided to get a few small bites and built our own cheese board, got the pickles and the mushroom toast. The cheese board was good but a bit overpriced for what you got, the pickles had a strange flavor profile but the mushroom toast was the best app I have had in a long time. The bartenders were attentive throughout but towards the end it felt like we were being pushed out the door. They asked if they could clear out dishes when we still had some of the apps left on them, we politely declined since we were still chatting, drinking (my friend still had at least half of their wine left) and snacking, and they proceeded to continue to ask multiple times about clearing the plates. They gave us the check while we still had wine and we paid but stayed at the bar to finish the wine we had remaining. Before we left, someone (maybe a manager) with an iPad came over to "just check and make sure that everything had been okay" at which point we said it was and promptly left. In the beginning we felt welcome but in the end we felt like a door was closed in our face.

Knocking off two stars fromMy original review. Went on a Saturday with my wife after hyping this place up to her for years. Saturday at 7 and they were out of lots of their wines and the food was meh+. Like a lot of wines were unavailable . They didn't even have a Pinot noir after I struck out on 3 different wine choices from the menu. Slow service given they weren't very busy. Asked for an extra roll and I get they press it on their electric panini press but when I ordered it a second time bc of how long it was taking boy was this other waitress annoyed as she was working on heating up the roll. Just give me the roll so i can dip in the sauce and feel somewhat full after dropping $150. We seemed to be there between rushes. They weren't even that busy but the service was really slow and the staff seemed to be stressed and not very welcoming. The music too , not that this impacts the food, but the music used to be great here and now it was like Miley Cyrus and Call Me Maybe. It was kind of a confluence of all poor changes. Really let down. Things change. They've become overhyped and complacent. At least it the food could and vibe could have been salvaged by the friendly and non pretentious staff I had experienced 2-3x in the past. Alas, nahh. Just kinda feels like an overpriced small space w semi rude hipster staff playing annoying music slinging mediocre dishes. Cool Cool glad we went for our anniversary.
