Hale’s Kitchen

The chicken is really delicious, perfectly cooked and seasoned!! Best fried chicken in town! Fried pickles, okra, and home style Mac n cheese are the sides we tried and all were fabulous. Today we had the opportunity to dine in, with a large group of 40 or so, and the service was impeccable, fast, friendly, and so very welcoming. Everyone got their food in a timely manner, and everything was perfect. Having had Hales food before by takeout, (and loving it) eating at the restaurant was another level of delicious!!! We also got to try the beignets today, and WOW those little pillows of greatness were a treat. Highly recommend. This place is great, cozy, clean, and friendly.

Really good, consistent quality, generous portions. When this place opened I knew it was going to be good. They had some major issues in the beginning as most restaurants do but the food has been consistently great.This is some of the best macaroni and cheese I've had from a restaurant and the chicken is always well seasoned and consistent. They always add extra pieces to the generous portions. Really glad this place found its footing.

I had the opportunity to visit Hale's Kitchen during their "soft opening" on Tuesday (02 August).Since it was just a soft opening, they were running with a limited menu. I chose to order the Shrimp Po'boy and fried pickle slices.I thought the po'boy was excellent. Everything from the hoagie roll to the fried shrimp, and the delicious sauce used in the po'boy was great!Unfortunately, I thought the fried pickles were a little soggy. I'm hoping that was a result of being in a new space and not having everything set up yet. We'll see if they can get it right after the Grand Opening this Friday (05 August).I am looking forward to seeing the new Hale's Kitchen up and running full steam ahead. It looks like they have a great little space. They even have a bar alcove in work in the back of the restaurant. When I asked about it I was told that the bar will open, but probably not in time for the Grand Opening.

We went for the soft opening after seeing that it was southern based. Being our 2nd day coming from the south, comfort would is always a go to. We set up reservations, ordering went smooth. I want to start off by saying the sweet tea is on point, and I would buy it by the gallon. Unfortunately the Mac n cheese and tenders were served cold, they informed us that a new batch just came out of Mac n Cheese, it tasted much better hot. I didn't bother with tenders, as I wasn't really impressed with how they looked compared to advertised photos. It's a soft opening so I'm not judging the food quality too hard. However the two younger ladies on staff were gossipy of customer's that we easily overheard. I understand being particular about where people stand while ordering, but it's unnecessary to complain about it with guests still dining in. This store front restaurant is a diamond in the rough. Doesn't look flashy outside, but coke inside and you will be greeted by a lovely person at the front who will take your order. The food was quick and delicious. We all did chicken combo plates. Six meals in all were completed within minutes. If you are coming to Oak Harbor, this is a great stop.

Their chicken is delicious. Customer service is good but their food service can be a bit slow. I do need to try their chicken and waffle sometime! Haven't been there in a while so maybe food service gotten better.

The food here is great. I enjoyed the chicken tenders with the Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was delicious. Would definitely come back.

Excellent fresh squeezed lemonade! Just about the best Mac and cheese I've had. Love all the homemade sauces, especially the ranch which has fresh dill in it. This place is an unsuspecting delicious find.

Been here a couple of times, food is good but I feel they need to add combinations to their menu. I wanted tenders and shrimp but you have to get them separately and everything is a meal. The service was alright, I ordered and she asked me did I want a drink with my food I said "do y'all have fountain drinks" she says yes, I paid then she proceeded to say "our fountain drinks are broken you can grab something out the cooler then THEY NEVER HAVE BEIGNETS LIKE EVER . If you've been here and they had beignets congrats.
