Gyumro is the cutest! The interior immediately caught my attention with the projectors on the walls and the interesting lighting. Great spot to take friends or guests. I got the Gyukatso Ramen with Prime meat and it hit the spot. Level two heat wasn't really hot, but did at some great flavor. Our table split the hiyatakko (chilled tofu in chili oil) and it was also very tasty! The service was good and we got everything we needed in a timely manner.

Came here with a friend and although we were accidentally given their lemon ginger sparking drink for another table, we were given it for free and it was really good!Their ramen is really good and is refreshing as it is a beef based broth. My friend also enjoyed her bowl and we both loved the beef that accompanied the dish. The interior is truly unique with neon signs, lots of color, and an ambiance that helps transport the eater to a Tokyo izakaya! Definitely come here on a cold day to warm up!

This was alright - I haven't been stunned by ramen at any point in my life, but this was fine. You get a good amount of food, which is usually an issue at ramen places where you pay $20 for some noodles in a bowl of hot water. Not the case here - you'll have plenty. If you're a big ramen enjoyer, check this out. Otherwise, probably not your cup of tea.

Great spot for a quick meal. We came here for lunch and grabbed their Signature ramen. Im used to pork broth but the beef broth here was delicious. And the noodles were so delicious with a good chew and bounce. My husband also got the A5 Wagyu Curry Don which was just soooo good. Great flavors and the wagyu was so tender.Service was OK. They were pretty attentive especially for a spot that's not too formal. I love the decor of the restaurant too. It reminded me of alleys in Japan with bars and restaurants.

I love ramen! This place does not accept reservations, so it is first come first served but we easily got a table for two after work on a weekday. The servers also had our food out very fast so hopefully if there is a wait, it wouldn't be too long. They also do not serve alcohol, but they have some very fun and yummy mocktails that are worth checking out. I ordered the spicy garlic miso ramen with tofu and opted for the vegetarian version because I did not want fish. I loved the spicy creamy broth, and the fried tofu was so light and airy. We split the tiramisu for dessert. It was great! I would come back for sure.

I ordered the signature gyukatsu with the prime medium rare filet mignon - it was heavenly. I've never had beef broth ramen before and I must say it still had the same depth of flavor as a traditional pork broth. The ramen noodles were on the thinner side, but still soaked up so much of the umami broth flavor. The meat was cooked so tender and so beautifully. Be sure to create one magical bite with a slice of filet, a chopsticks-worth of noodles, and broth all in the giant wooden soup spoons they give you! We also ordered the boiled chicken gyoza to share, which was sitting in a bed of mixed greens soaked in a mixture of soy and ponzu. The sauce had a slight kick which was a pleasant surprise. Might be the best boiled gyoza I've ever had! We finished off the meal with the coppa chocolate dessert, a mix of silky dark, milk, and white chocolate and a hazelnut crunch (not pictured cause we just devoured it immediately). Honestly, I felt that it may have also been another star of our meal. Overall an incredible meal and an ambience to make it truly feel like an authentic Japanese street food experience.

Super cute ramen shop in West Town! It is styled like Japanese street food/market. Happy to see beef ramen expand to Chicago and add to the diverse food scene! My partner's father cannot eat pork, so this spot was much appreciated where the broth is still very creamy and rich and accessible to him! I loved the affordable premium beef options as well such as filet mignon. This is super affordable compared to other ramen shops for premium options. We also tried the wagyu buns and seaweed salad that were solid appetizers!

This place is SO good. I came here on Lollapalooza 2023 weekend because my brother lives in Chicago and suggested it, and he has been a large handful of times with friends. We walked in for lunch as a group of 5, and waited very shortly (like less than 10 minutes) for a table they had to clear. Inside is fairly small, and it looks like it gets busy so plan accordingly! The decor inside is super cute, full of neon lights and bright cute characters like you'd find in Japan.I ordered the SIGNATURE GYUKOTSU - creamy beef bone broth ramen. I was so excited to try this, since it's such a unique concept from traditional ramen, and I was not let down. Since most places are traditionally pork, miso, or soy-sauced based broth, I was so pleasantly surprised with how delicious this beef broth was. They really executed this well and I understand why from first bite it's one of their signature dishes. The beef was tender, and soup was savory and flavorful. My boyfriend got the Prime Shoyu ramen - comes with delicious medium rare filet mignon on top. It was so pretty and aesthetic - the bowl looked perfect. The flavor was even more delicious than it looked. I couldn't decide which ramen I liked more, but needless to say I ended up switching with my boyfriend and devouring much of his ramen. lol Overall, a really solid place for ramen. 5/ starsAnd yes sure, it strays a bit from "traditional" ramen, but coming back from visiting Japan recently, I can confidently say this place is WELL WORTH your visit to try something new and delicious.
