Gus's New York Pizza

After years of avoiding this chain, I am warming up to Gus's. It is not by any means the worst pizza in town. It is, more precisely, the most perfectly mid pizza ever made, with the appeal of being one of the last 24/7 businesses standing. You could convince me these huge, floppy slices have medicinal properties--have one before a night on the town and you will be protected from sugary, bottom shelf booze at nearby nightclubs. If you have room, pair it with one of their surprisingly good salads. It doesn't take long to get your food, and there's a bit of a sports bar vibe. This place will never be at the top of my list, but it's been so reliable for so long that I'm sure I'll be back!

Best pizza ever.Came out fresh out the box, crispy undercarriage and hot gooey cheese. The toppings crop to perfection and ranch was the cherry on top.

Picked this location as they are open 24 hours! Yes that is right! We were feeding a group of trademan a special lunch. This particular group gets up and starts work at 4am so lunch is at 9am. I ordered 4 32 inch pizzas the night before with the manager. We would have totally took advantage of delivery, but they don't have a delivery person available that early in the day. Ordering was easy. They had the pizza ready on time. The pizza was so hot and fresh it fogged up the windows inside the truck. Ha ha FYI 32 inch pizzas do not make it through a standard door. We had to bring them in through the dock door. Pizza was really good, but not the best out there. Everyone was still happy. 4x 32 inch pizzas fed 26 people. Easy nice pizza place to work with. Toppings could have been a bit more generous for the price they charged per topping.

Love the food. Pizza great. Wings great. Pricing misleading. Came in at 12:09 after work and wanted wings. $12.99 turned into $16.62 after tax and credit card fee and AFTER MIDNIGHT CHARGE. I have never heard of this in any other restaurant. It's not posted anywhere in the restaurant. I will never be coming here after midnight again. I'd post a copy of my receipt but it's not itemized.

Great pizza and good service. I good a pepperoni and sausage with jalapeños on one side and basil on the other, delicious.

This place was recommended by a colleague while we were here on a work trip. He had been here before and raved about it. It was decent. The pizza was good but the setting was crap. I love a hole in the wall, but this was a hole in the wall without the fun. The pizza, though - minimum size is a 14" so come hungry or come ready to split one with someone you love. The crust - chewy enough without being too doughy. The sauce - acidity of the tomatoes sweetened enough for a a good NY flavor. The toppings were well spread. Come here if hungry but don't expect great service or very cold beer.

Went to Gus's on 4th of July late night and they were very busy but the service was still great per usual. Everyone was working very hard and the cashier in particular was great. Didn't catch his name but he was tall with a neck tattoo and was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed even though they were extremely busy. They never disappoint with service and quality of food!!

If I could give it a zero star rating I would because I am extremely upset with this restraunt because I had a little gathering and I ordered a 50 piece order of traditional bone in wings and I found a hair in the food and i called the restaurant and was told that the manager would call me and to take a picture that was all i was informed to do so i took a picture if the wing with the hair and sent it to them and then a day or two later i was informed that I was supposed to call them to pick up the cross contaminated hazard food and THEN they would refund me and then I was informed that I can only receive credits for 10 piece wings and that they could NOT deliver it to me .... and what's worse is I have been physically sick since i ate their food... apparently I have food poisoning that's what urgent care told me...Im appalled at not only the hygienically incapability of this gus restaurant but the inadequacy of the customer service provided....

Super Greasy PizzaIf you're into greasy pizza, this place might be up your alley. Personally, I think the pizza is just okay--there are definitely better New York-style slices to be found in Tempe. That said, it's a solid option for a late-night order, and I'd choose it over the big pizza chains any day. However, if you're looking for the best pizza in town, you might want to keep exploring.
