Guiseppe's was close by to a recent ABNB I was staying at. It was lunchtime so I found them on Yelp and checked them out. I am happy to report that Guiseppe's was everything you would expect from a sub shop. My "grinder" was perfect. I ordered a salami. The service was friendly enough and was also fast and efficient. The menu included all the usual suspects and there was a daily special too. Inside there is an L-shaped counter with stools around it. I ate there. I would say 1/2 of the customers were eating in and 1/2 were taking out. There were a bunch of locals eating on their lunch break while I was there ... always a good sign. The bottom line is this, I would go back anytime, and would be a regular if I lived in the local. Thanks for my grinder/sub fix on my recent trip back to Boston, Guiseppe's.

Ive been goin to Guiseppe's since 1963.Best subs for the price , small sub bag of chips 10.00How can you beat that?

Giuseppe's is the best always has been!! I have been coming to Giuseppe's from the time I was a teenager and still going at 67! Love all their subs but my favorite is the Italian always fresh cold cuts!

Ahhh this place is so hit or miss, but lately it's all misses. I've never been in here and had an enjoyable customer experience, they're always curt and borderline mean, but that's not a problem for me if they deliver great food or high value. Lately, it's been slow, low quality food that just leaves me wishing I'd gone somewhere else. Subs - $7.50 and you get a decent Italian sub, maybe 60% the size of a Subway sandwich, easy to finish in one sitting. "Specials" - extremely disappointing. I didn't think you could mess up Ziti and sauce with Sausages. What's in it? Properly cooked pasta, rich tomato sauce, some sausage chunks, right? What I ended up with is a box of overcooked pasta, watery "tomato" sauce, and 5 bits of sausage for $7.50. Picture does it justice.

Whatever you do, do not ask for lettuce on your sub. There's a big sign on the wall and it appears that the font they used for it is a clear sign that one who would attempt to order such an accoutrement would probably result in a scolding.This modest establishment with lunch-only hours serves up some very good, cheap subs. They have specials every single day and I happened to order a hamburg beef & onions sub which also featured a nice gravy along with it. It was meaty, it was hot, it was oniony and it was delicious. The bread got a little soft and soggy because of the gravy though so it got a little though to eat at the end but it was well worth it. The large size sub was only.... $5! Incredible deal, I almost felt bad paying so little for what I had. I also had some ketchup flavored chips with it which was interesting.The people running this blue-collar oriented place aren't the friendliest people (at least they appear that way) but they do make good subs so who cares? You order at the counter and they prepare them in the backroom and one or two minutes later they bring it up the counter on a paper place marker and you can digg in. No plates here!I do intend to return for more in the future so I can experience more of their subs.If your in that area and are looking for a reliably good, affordable lunch, look no further, this is it right here. The street parking is plentiful too!

The location was nothing special. The interior was clean but old. The only way it stays in business is the food. Ah, but the food. Reasonably priced, nice portions, delicious sandwiches. I had the Italian special. But really, just ask the wait staff what they recommend that day.

I dont know how anyone could not rate these sandwiches five stars. fresh ingredients, simple, so yummy.

I used to visit 35+ years ago. All you could eat hotdogs for $3.00. I was pinged by an old friend I brought for lunch back then. I think his granddaughter was working that day. The place was packed. I heard from the kitchen, "If they're not drinking at the bar or deep throating dogs, NEXT!!!". A classic in the culinary world. We'll go after Xmas. The next day we're heading to Antonio's in Fall River. I sold coffee. I wish I had the dog account.
