Guanatos II Mexican and Seafood

A small unassuming older place off Campo Rd. A nice big menu and selection of traditional favorites and Mariscos. We tried a grilled shrimp taco, regular fish taco and fried shrimp taco-adding on rice and beans. They were all full of protein and the usual cabbage slaw, and light crema. I will ask for extra crema next time, we added the table salsa which was slightly spicy. There were about 4-5 other salsas to choose from. They have wine which is not always an option, but that's great for my Dad! I had a mixed not frozen pina colada. It was refreshing and came with a floral garnish. I think it's a locals place, a couple work crews there at lunch. There's no A/C but they have a fan and a couple TV's. We were made welcome by the hostess and staff, I would definitely try more food from here. It's simple not fancy, and that's a pleasant change of pace- not to mention many items are priced below the taco shops. That in itself is an amazing rare find!

Guanatos II has recently taken over Max's Kitchen in Spring Valley. The bring experience with Mexican Seafood specialties from Acapulco, Mexico. They also have an established Guanatos in National City. There first location.On this first visit, I ordered a pair of fried fish tacos and three beef rolled tacos with all the fixings for $5. The fish tacos were $2.95 plus tax a piece.The fish tacos were very tasty. Everything was fresh and the fish tasted good. I just wish the piece of fish were about 2 oz larger. It was a little under sized for the regular corn tortillas they used. The rolled tacos were pretty good too, but just like the fish tacos, they needed a little bit of more meat inside them. They were good however, and the guacamole they served on them was fresh and delicious.They offer inside and outside seating. They offer a lot of seafood items, items that I plan to venture in, in the future.

This place is so good ! And the owner she's so sweet she went above and beyond for my family . I had a shrimp tostada and it was massive with such good flavor . I will be bringing my family back.

Ordered a shrimp burrito for quick pickup before work. Great decision, hot fresh and well cooked. It was ready as soon as I arrived. The chipotle salsa paired well and gave it a nice spice.

Came here for Sunday breakfast with the family. The chilaquiles and huevos rancheros were delicious! Homey and warm feeling atmosphere. Great staff and service too.

Food is delicious! Found this gem and a few days later we went back with friends.We shared things so we could try serval items and all were so yummy.

This place is AWESOME!!!! It used to be Max's kitchen but there's new owners now so it's called Guanatos II. The owner is very nice and welcoming. The cali botana is beyond delicious. Flavor was perfect. My son had chicken tacos and the chicken tastes so good. Highly recommend this place!!!!

Food is amazing! Had the shrimp cocktail and a birria taco. Both were very good! Service is excellent!

Food was fantastic! We had chicken tacos, asada tacos, shrimp a la diabla tacos and shrimp ceviche tostada! All absolutely delicious, cooked and seasoned to perfection. I'm have a picky mexican taste and I gotta tell you, I will definitely come back and i highly recommend thus place. Customer service super, Daniel & Patricia made us feel at home. Oh! And the horchata was really good too! The restaurant is clean, nice music and spacious. I would only add they need more fans or stronger A/C with this very hot weather!
