You can't go wrong at GT prime!Impeccable service, amazing food & a beautiful dark sexy restaurant!Move over Bavettes because GT prime is now serving fresh focaccia!!Coming from a bread connoisseur: this is the BEST focaccia you'll ever have! Even cold, days after it's the best focaccia I've ever had ! It's served warm and comes out sooo light and fluffy with the PERFECT amount of salt. Love how thick this focaccia is! Slightly chewy, spongy and sooo soft! Scrumptious!!! Think fresh focaccia from Italy but even better ! 10/10 I'd come here just for the focaccia alone!!

Service:Horrific...it took 25 minutes to get DRINKS... our waiter was horrible. We saw him multiple times just sitting at the bar talking to other waiters. My girl called him out and he gave a less than sincere apology. The food took even longer to come out. We didn't get our food until 30 minutes until the place closed. Keep in mind that it wasn't super busy. Our waiter was preoccupied with the next table who were Caucasian. I'm not sure if we got less than great service cause we were African American:Dress Code: The website states classy and upscale. However, it was people in shorts, gym shoes and hoodies. No dress code enforced at all. My girl and I were severely overdressed.Ambiance:The place was absolutely beautiful on the inside. It dark in the inside but gives you this intimate setting. It was very loud in the inside. Food:Was the only saving grace. The roasted chicken was very moist with the whipped mash potatoes.I would not go back to this establishment. It other classy steakhouses..

My review is based on my RW visit - Upon arrival our host and server was very nice and we we even got a drink on the house as we were celebrating our friend moving back home & being married. The server was very accommodating and made sure we were taken care of. First Course - Cocktail Shrimp - These were huge and very enjoyable.Second Course - Beef Tartare - The mustard was very strong in the dish and I did not enjoy itThird Course - Westholme Wagyu Sirolon - Unfortunately, my steak was overcooked. I asked for medium and it was well doneFourth Course - Chef's Chocolate Cake - Very chocolatey but still enjoyable Overall it was just an okay experience and I wish that didn't happen to my steak.

This is a really great steakhouse. You can get the typical things here, but I think the sauces and sides are some of the best! I went with the Au Pouvire and Mac and Cheese which were both excellent. We also started with the bacon appetizer which was very tasty. I finished with the largest piece of chocolate cake I have ever seen! The wine was also great! The only downside was that it was very expensive. It seemed much more expensive than other Chicago Steakhouses. Also, the portions of sides varied quite a bit. For the price we paid, I expected the sides to be a little larger. A couple of them were, but some like the tots were kind of small. The chocolate cake size made up for that and I would argue is the biggest steal on the whole menu. I will finish up by saying that the service was top notch. It was probably the highlight of the experience (minus the cake). I liked my filet, but its hard to reinvent it. I would certainly come back, but I might look around a little bit since I thought it was a little overpriced for what I got. In short, my food was excellent, just expensive.

Dining at GT Prime is a great experience. It's price range puts it against competitors such as STK, and I can confidently say it absolutely is a superior experience compared to those. This is more of a trendy spot, with fantastic interior decor with beautifully arranged but dim lighting. Service was fantastic, the menu covers all of the classic steakhouse options. We were also very satisfied with our drinks. Interestingly we thought the French cab tasted more like a Zinfandel but it was great. The bread is surprisingly good, and included. While Chicago has so many great steakhouses, GT prime definitely competes and is a wonderful dining experience.

Absolutely loved my experience here! First, of course the food was absolutely delicious; very premium cuts and the right amount of selections for entrees and sides. However, I did have a small issue with the fact that I thought my steak was a tad over cooked, which is why I am giving 4 stars. Other than that, everything else I ate was perfection. My favorite dish was the crab cake appetizer, which is surprising because I don't normally like seafood. It was obvious to me that this restaurant use fresh ingredients when I tasted the crab cake. The service was top notch. We had great conversations with the staff and the patrons. Everyone gave us multiple suggestions on how to spend our time in the city. They were all so welcoming and kind and we wanted for nothing!I loved the ambiance of this steakhouse because it was actually quite quiet and intimate. Many times I find steakhouses to be loud, but the acoustics here kept everyone's convos contained. Also, I loved that this place take reservations online, and that I was able to get a table same day!

Unassuming steakhouse option in Chicago! Have had this place on the list of steakhouses to try. Got in without issue as we made a reservation in advance (recommend), however, there is bar seating. We came a little early and started with a drink at the bar which was awesome. We sat in front of the grill so we got to see them preparing and making the steaks. The two men there chatted with us and shared what they did the whole time - highlight!!! Once we got seated service in the main room service was quick.Food - we opted to split a steak and some sides:-Table bread (not pictured): 10/10 - yum! Fresh warm loaf to start out and is complimentary. -Filet Mignon 8oz: 8/10 - good size cut of beef, quality grade. Had nice flavor but was a little dry to us. May be how they prepare it on the grill but left us wanting more to make it juicy (no truffle butter options or anything outside sauces to add) -Shishito and Corn: 10/10 - this was our favorite! Amazing flavor with the peppers and creamy corn. Super unique dish and a must try! -Mac and cheese: 5/10 - this was our least favorite. The crust on top was nice but then entire Mac was dry and overdone. The noodles were basically mush unfortunately so left much to desire Overall service and food were good, service was the highlight here as everyone we talked to was super knowledgeable and welcoming. Definitely a smaller more intimate steakhouse option compared to your RPM and Maple of Chicago but would say this has the least options and is not as upscale if that's what you prefer in a steakhouse. But still worth a visit!

Outstanding steak at this trendy spot. It's a unique vibe for an expensive steak place. Plenty of vintage exposed wood and unusual decor, combined with the dark, clubby, red-velvet kind of stuff that you've come to expect at one of these places. Dining is divided into two rooms, with the bar in the center left of the entry room, in front of the open kitchen. We were seated immediately, our reservation honored to the minute. Chris took great care of us. He sensed that we were in a fun mood, and he complemented us well. Made some excellent recommendations, helped with the wine selection and kept the meal moving with a smile. Thank you! The menu is as you would expect - steak of all varieties, with the usual suspects for appetizers and sides. I started with a wedge salad. A quarter head of iceberg lettuce, adorned with bleu cheese, cherry tomatoes and slices of thick, thick bacon. Tasty and fresh. I also sampled a companion's foie gras. Yes, I know it's politically incorrect, but man... this stuff is GOOD! The foie gras is served atop slices of brioche and sliced strawberries and adorned with candied hazelnuts. Yum!Because you can't get this just anywhere, I tried bison tenderloin. The 8 oz cut looks small on the plate, but don't let your eyes fool you - it's plenty. Bison is extremely lean, and prepared medium rare as I ordered is as delicious a steak as you'll get. It's tender, juicy and extremely flavorful. Shared a few sides with the table, roasted brussels sprouts are the standout. Sprouts are halved, roasted to al dente and served under thin slices of prosciutto and pickled garlic. An excellent rendition, the prosciutto adds saltiness and texture. Indecisive is how you could describe our group, so even though we were all very full at the end of the meal, we couldn't resist dessert. And since we couldn't decide, we ordered chocolate cake, creme brulee AND tiramisu. Each one is divine in its' own right, but my favorite is the chocolate cake. 7 layers of cake salted caramel icing, candied hazelnuts plus a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I can diet tomorrow, right? All in all, this is an excellent, expensive steak joint; worthy of a return trip. Food is terrific, service is spot-on, atmosphere is cool. Recommended!

Amazing happy hour options! We live nearby and love that HH is every day! Amazing service each time we go (we've gone 3x in past 2 weeks). I LOVE their GT's Gin & Tonic, their Caesar salad is perfect with anchovies, and the shrimp appetizer is so good, we ordered it twice in one sitting. Their burger from HH menu is also so delicious and large so you can split. We bring our pups to sit outside, and she is treated like a little princess each time
