Ground Control

We came back for another pleasing meal this weekend. It's nice to have the coffee bar up and running. I do love the quirky atmosphere and eclectic music selections. I am writing an update because there are a couple of additions that we enjoyed.We started with what I believe was call Nashville dry rubbed wings. Dry rub and spicy are my thing, and while good, these are no child's play! I got through about four. Thank goodness for the Ranch on the side. If spicy is your gig, these are it!My wife had her southwest salad and enjoyed it very much. It was a first for the Cubano Dip pork sandwich. It is something different than the others and very pleasing. I will definitely revisit that one!And top in off with a cold specialty beer on draft. What's not to like!-BTW - Loved the Svengoolie on the tube! It is a perfect fit!

When I'm craving Nashville chicken my mind immediately goes to Ground Control. You'd be hard pressed to find somewhere else in the west valley with better Nashville chicken than this place. The tenders are massive and the chicken is well seasoned. During our most recent visit we started with the Dakota Style Steak Bites. They were good, but also very salty. I would get them again, but if you're sensitive to salt I'd go for something else. Also highly recommend getting your fries with the Cajun seasoning - it's very good!Every time I've eaten here has been during lunch on a weekday and there has been no wait. I imagine it gets much busier on the weekends however. They also do wood-fired pizzas. I keep meaning to try them, but every time we come I end up getting the Nashville chicken again. Maybe one day!

Sometimes you just need a big ol' savory dish in front of you piled with fries! Can we get an AMEN?! Ground Control is a go-to's in Litchfield Park AZ for savory plates, big portions and flavors! We ordered the Diablo Wrap which is a spicy chicken wrap, Hot Mess Fries topped with Beer Cheese and their famous Nashville Hot Chicken chopped in small bites, and the NEW MENU ITEM, Chilaquiles Honestly, I'm starving just looking at these photos & reminiscing from our visit. We were able to sit down immediately as we went in the late afternoon but it picked up quite a bit while we sat. I think it's also a go-to spot for golfers after a round at The Wigwam! Their menu is LOADED... I mean LOADED with apps, handhelds, salads, wood fired pizzas, all-day breakfast burritos... YES all day breakfast burritos AND more. I'm not a drinker but the craft been selection was large. Also offered Plenty of TVs and super chill vibe. We had a great time - decided it's both a great place for a day date with our hubbies!

I found this spot on Yelp as I was looking for a dog friendly restaurant with outdoor seating. The reviews led me to the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and it did not disappoint. Perfect amount of spice so you can feel it but not burn your taste buds. My wife got the southwest salad and enjoyed it. Service was great, fresh food and clean establishment. What else can you ask for? I will be back again.

I visit GC often for breakfast burritos in early mornings after roadbiking. But today I visited mid day andI tried the St Patrick day bangers and mash. Seriously delicious, smashed the bland UK flavor paradigm and great with a pour of left hand stout. Highly recommend visiting this spot after a day on the golf course, mountain biking or what ever you do to burn carbs and float your pulse rate.

Service my last two visits was atrocious. I was one of maybe ten people in the place. And one of three sitting at the bar. How do you not notice a new customer?? I can't recommend what I never had, so hopefully they do something about their service.

My rating is more based on the fact that the coffee bar doesn't have milk, and by milk, I mean milk from a cow. I get that people want options so they had every other non-milk milk out there but not milk milk. They seemed befuddled that I would ask for milk from a cow. Maybe I wasn't aware that this was a Vegan place now. The muffin was okay. A bit dryer than I prefer and a little less flavor than I typically like, but I did eat my half. It is a cool looking place however with a good vibe.

Sunday Brunch at Ground Control is an absolute delight! If you're wondering what to order, the chorizo burritos are a must-try, no doubts about it! And let's not forget the coffee bar--trust me, it's a hidden gem. Today, I'm indulging in the Jimi, a heavenly concoction of espresso, chocolate milk, hazelnut, caramel, all topped with a generous swirl of whipped cream. Major kudos to Chef Ian for creating such a fantastic brunch experience. It's definitely the highlight of my Sundays!

Everyone was friendly, food was okay, and the sour was good, but I didn't realize that there wasn't a price on the menu for that drink and my check showed it was $18! For a beer! I was really surprised, but overall I would rather spend the same amount of money for better food and drinks elsewhere. The place seemed a little dirty, there were some discolored napkins under our table to keep it from moving back and forth, but the napkins look like they've been there for quite some time.

Very dirty inside. Our shoes were sticking to the floor from the door to the table. Floor was filthy. Dust covered the beer signs. Server was okay. Barista couldn't bother to stand to welcome you, stayed seated yelling sit anywhere while she listened to something with her earbuds in. While it wasn't crowded, the coffee took almost 20 mins when ordering at table. Food was not great. There was a small pool of water near the coffee bar which got bigger by the time we left. I had to tell them about it so someone wouldn't trip and fall. It must have been the bosses day off. We did get 50% off coffee as it took so long. Overall, not good and wouldn't return.
