This review is coming in a little late since my visit was on my birthday 7/30. My friend and I who share a birthday were joined by several friends to celebrate. We were greeted by a kind server who took our drink order. Four of us ordered drinks with vodka and one ordered tequila. The server came with our drinks but informed us that they only had enough vodka to make the one of every drink but we could switch to tequila if we wanted to. We should have been offered something different before giving us a drink we could not continue to order. Unfortunately, we had to find out things we should not have been privy to, the worker the previous night had taken the alcohol key. We ordered beignets to start. The first batch came out burned and greasy. The server acknowledged that as he brought them over and I was looking at them funny. He brought back a perfect order.Fast forward we ordered our meals. I had resorted to just ordering avocado toast because after all the excuses I had lost my appetite. The first thing we were told was they were out of potatoes. SMHThree of the people who had joined us had never been there before but were excited after my birthday twin and I gave them rave reviews about the place. So it was very embarrassing to have experienced all of the issues on a Tuesday at 12:30 pm.Everyone received their food and the food quality was ok except the other birthday girl's food was at room temperature. At this point, we wanted to speak with the manager. So he came over and then the owner. This did not help the situation at all. The manager nor the owner never addressed the fact that her food was at room temperature. They listened to our concerns about the alcohol issue and all the other issues. The owner and I quote said, "Well read our reviews there are some good days and some bad days and this is just one of our bad days." I said, "Wow, that is all you have to say?" I said "I have been here multiple times and never had an issue with food or service and today what I have experienced makes me not ever want to come back." He said, "Well try out our Buckhead location."I have never felt a displeasure of a place at the hands of an owner more than I have during this encounter.Needless to say I won't be returning to either location.

It's my birthday month! I'm trying to capture all my mini outings. We saw a few Tiktoks and decided to have breakfast here on Sunday. I looked online and saw there was a 30-minute wait. I added my name to the list. We visited the Marietta location off Windy Hill. There is free parking. It's in a smaller shopping center. You may have to park in the adjacent parking lot. We parked upfront for free.We were greeted as soon as we entered. I was on the wait list, so we were seated immediately. The hostess was very warm and friendly. Our server introduced herself quickly. She went over a few menu items and gave us time to review. The tables are decently spaced apart. The piano player was nice. People were singing along to the music. Inside volume wasn't too loud. We were able to hold a conversation.I ordered peach lemonade and my son regular. We also ordered some beignets to start. The lemonades were good. The beignets came our pretty quick. They were fresh and hot!! They were pretty good. So far, so good.My son ordered the catfish with grits. I ordered the French toast with eggs, grits, and turkey bacon. I'll start by saying that the food here tastes good. However, this is where we encountered an issue. My son said the catfish was fresh and hot, but the grits were room temp. I had the same experience. My eggs were the only hot item on my plate. The French toast was cold. The blueberries were fresh, but strawberries could tell had been sitting in juices. The turkey bacon was less than room temp, as were the grits. My son grits were good. There was too much garlic seasoning in them for me to enjoy. The syrup was room temp, not provided hot. I was disappointed after the beignets. The server offered a togo box but no refills on the lemonades. The server brought a card reader to the table for me to pay. Tip gets added, so pay attention and adjust based on your experience. The hostess noticed we didn't eat it all and did not take it with us. I provided my feedback on our experience. She grabbed the manager, who seemed busy and not quite sure how to take my feedback. The food was good but would have been better if everything was hot. He offered free beignets on our next visit. No info was taken, so I would not come back and try to take him up on that offer. Based on the quality of service and food along with vibe in restaurant, I would give 3 stars based on my experience. 4 stars if the manager had a better response once the hostess brought our issue to his attention. The food is decent priced with some items that are a little high to me. It was a fun experience that could have been a great one. This is a more popular restaurant so I will not come back soon to give another chance. I say give them a chance.

I got there about 5 minutes before they closed and they were nice enough to take a Beignet order from me. I placed 1 order seeing as I saw raving reviews about it. It was 2/10, now it was definitely fresh, but the glaze was not a glaze it was supper watery, & runny, the Beignet soaked some of it up, & tasted soggy. Overall was not a good 1 st impression on the taste. However since they were close to closing Chec could have been tired and cleaned up. They may have rushed to try to a accommodate me. I would give them a try again.

We were out on a wait to start. The "manager" went through the list quick and got us sat. I asked to taste the curry sauce to make sure I would be good with it. I ordered the curry shrimp. It tasted like a coconut curry base. It was creamy and smooth. The shrimp was cooked to perfection. I also recommend the mocktail blueberry, mint, lavender lemonade. It was refreshing on a warm morning. We sat in the outside seating area which was comfortable and really quiet. Inside the restaurant they had a pianist playing.

WONDERFUL first time experience at Grits & Eggs! It was ideal from when we walked in, were seated and the timeliness of our meal. The music they played was truly fitting for the ambience and crowd that was present. I enjoyed the Chicken & Waffles with the savory taste of Mac & Cheese and Collards!! I had a delightful French 75 that was made just right. I'm not a fan of Bloody Mary's everywhere, I tasted my friend's Bloody Mary and it was superb (w/ vodka). The portion sizes were ideal individually but also large enough to share with all. The beignets. Thee beignets were soft, melting in your mouth and its tempting to get more than one order (comes with 5). Our server Johnnie was phenomenal! From our first interaction with her; her initial greeting, introduction to the menu items, her personal favorites and overall engagement throughout our whole experience! I was truly happy and astounded with her care, time and attention to go through different sections of the menu!!! I will definitely be back to visit, not only this location but others as well!Cheers!

At first, I decided I wouldn't return, but I think I will try a different location. My experience was disappointing. While the food was generally okay, the beignets were exceptional. The service was decent, and the ambiance was just average--I was not impressed. I believe in supporting Black-owned and managed businesses, but it's crucial to deliver quality food, service, and ambiance, especially considering the money spent. I plan to return for dinner, as I've heard it's better than breakfast, which is concerning given the name "Grits and Eggs."

This is the newest location to the Cumberland one. It's tucked in the corner of a strip mall but don't let that fool you. Still the same great food, great service and amazing drinks. The Peach Bellini is a specialty they offer and the entire menu is served all day. Yep - you can get steak or chops in the AM. Breakfast in the afternoon. This was a picture of a favorite dish they offer. I suggest the beignets and any of the Benedict selections. They also serve traditional selections - omelettes, waffles, pancakes, wings and more.Antoine is a great server and delivered a great experience.I'll be back and continue working my way through their menu. Cheers!

First time here Small lil low-key black owned spot in the corner of the plaza, music was a vibe We were greeted by a nice woman at the front door, Our waitress was really nice and attentive her name was Dieara I ordered the Red Snapper with Grits! 10/10 highly recommend Grits were nice and creamy, fish was fried to perfection and seasoned really well, the sauce that came with it wasn't spicy at all which i loved .. i also ordered a biscuit on the side, eh it wasn't worth the $3.50 I paid for it.The Expresso martini was GOODT, perfect way to end my meal. My friend ordered the Fried chicken with eggs and grits, chicken was nicely seasoned could've used a another minute or 2 in the fryer Will definitely be going back
