Grillshack Fries and Burgers

Out and about Nashville, I decided to hit one of the places in the city I have never visited: The Grillshack. Glad I dropped in.The place is rather small. You order on an outside window and then take a seat and they call you when it is ready. As it was slow, they brought the food in for us, saving me a trip. The burger is a pretty basic burger, but has a great flavor. The fries are cut just before frying and sliced into larger sized strips. I swear there was an entire large Idaho on my plate. I also tried the wings, which are nice.I won't say any of the items are the best in Nashville, but this is definitely in the top 10% for burgers and fries. The flavor of the beer alone could be enough to return. They have canned and bottle drinks, no soda fountain, but they do carry the real cane sugar coke from Mexico, which is a giant plus for me.I am rating this for what it is and I would definitely say it is worth of a 4.5, so I am rounding up.

Oh man, this place is awesome! It ain't good for you, but boy is it delicious! I go to church just down the road at the Axis Church. We meet every Wednesday night for a Bible study right after I get off work. Recently I've started a new tradition--clock out, drive to Grillshack, order a hot chicken sandwich with fries and a drink to go, and then head to church just a quarter mile away.I wouldn't quite consider this "fast food." It doesn't have a drive-thru; instead, it's got walk-up service on the porch. There's a small window next to the menu. Ring the doorbell, and then a guy comes and takes your order. While you wait, they have tables and a small booth outside enough to seat two people. Then inside they've got larger booths for four. I say it's not "fast food" because the food definitely isn't fast. At least not as fast as McDonald's or Taco Bell. It usually takes about 15 minutes. I think there's only one guy working there. I've never seen anyone else in the kitchen, so that's probably why the service is slow. He's very friendly though, and the 15 minutes is definitely worth the wait!Get the hot chicken sandwich. I don't care if you're more of a burger person and aren't into chicken. Just try it. It's got some good spice, but it isn't THAT hot. At least by my standards. The best thing is how crispy those chicken breast fillets are! They also have a pretty tasty patty melt, or as it says on the menu, a grilled cheese sandwich with a hamburger patty added. The chicken is better though.Don't even get me started on the FRIES! Holy crap! Those fries are to die for! The curly fries at Arby's have always been my favorite because of the seasoning, but Grillshack's fries are 10x better. I don't know what they fry the things in, but I'm certain they have to be deep fried in some sort of animal fat. Lard maybe? Beef tallow? I dunno, but definitely not oil. They're perfectly salted. And if you go inside the dining area, get the spicy ketchup! It's perfect for dipping and just has a tiny bite to it. They've also got malt vinegar...I guess for the Brits to dip their chips.This is THE place for junk food. I'm sure it raises my cholesterol and blood pressure, but I don't care. At least it's healthier than actual fast food, right? It's actually FRESH, and you can tell, unlike the thawed from frozen stuff you get from an actual fast food restaurant.DEM FRIES DOE!!!

After a long day of searching and playing i found this place by chance. My wife and I got a cheeseburger and fries....so good. I knew as soon as I touched the bun I knew I was in for a treat!!! The help was cool. Didn't bother I bit. When I comeback to Nashville I am coming for a burger!

I love it here especially because it's hidden away in our neighborhood. They have the best fries and also a good veggie burger, I just have to add my own veganaise when I get home.*also my dogs love it here bc they give them 1000 treats every time we go*

This place is awesome! Tucked away in Salemtown, Grillshack offers a broad menu with affordable prices. We ordered the classic burger that came with huge french fries, both were awesome. I normally don't like huge fries bc of a disproportionate potato ratio, but these were awesome. Make an effort this summer to support this local spot so it sticks around!

Allllll of the yes! We came to Nash from Clarksville for a quick turnaround trip. My tummy made itself known, so I did a quick Yelp search for something on the way home. Grillshack came up and I decided to try it. Probably one of the best decisions I've made of 2024! I'm strongly in the anyone cane make a burger camp. HOWEVER, not everyone knows how to properly SEASON a burger. Grillshack got it right! 10 out of 10!

We got takeout cheeseburgers here last night as it was the first place close by that was still open. Although the burgers looked small for the price they tasted very good. The fries were also very tasty, crispy, even though they were crinkle fries. I liked the fact that our togo order came in compostable containers. It looked like it would have been a cool scene to eat there but it was late and we had our toddler in the car, so takeaway it was.

One of the best burgers and fries in Nashville.I've tried almost every burger place in the city and Grillshack holds its own.Fast service. Fresh and high quality food. Good prices for what you get.Grass fed beef is my preference and Grillshack has it.The fries don't look the most spectacular, but are incredible.

A burger, done well, and fresh, thick fries. That's it. This Grillshack is located in the Salemtown neighborhood. Small, and unassuming. More of a to-go place but there are tables in/outside. Condiments (ketchup, spicy ketchup, vinegar, mayo) are inside. We dined in. Our order was out within 10 minutes, piping hot. The tomato, lettuce, and onion are served on the side. I can't remember if they dress the burger in mayo or not. Each burger comes as a combo that includes fries. SO many fries- like a potato worth! We were so hungry but we couldn't finish it!! Definitely a great deal at $12!The wings weren't our favorite- not a fan of the Nashville rub.
