Grillbird

Great experience today at Grillbird!Customer service: walked in and was greeted right away. Employee asked if it was our first time and welcomed us, gave us some recommendations, and was very friendly. Ambiance: very clean, updated, and great music on. Note that this is to-go only, but they do have a waiting bench to wait for your order. I'd recommend calling ahead. Food: at first I thought it seemed a bit expensive but you get a lot of food for the price. It was incredibly delicious. Reminded me of a mix of Hawaiian meets Japanese. We had to drive about 20-30 minutes home and I wouldn't recommend the breaded items if you need to commute that far just because it loses that beautiful crunch. Maybe eat at a nearby park or in your car if you don't live nearby. I loved trying the banana olipop too - that was a first for me. Yum! Will be back soon :)

Very underwhelming to be honest. My hopes were up for good flavor. The place smells good most of the time when passing bye but also I've smelled an overwhelming burnt smell as well so I guess I should've known. We got the chicken teriyaki and the fried cauliflower. Chicken was bland and as well as the cauliflower, but what I really didn't like was it tasted like flour. I really wanted to like this place. Especially as my family and I are from Hawaii. The food didn't have the Hawaiian flavor at all or barely flavor in general.

This is some very tasty chicken teriyaki. They use thigh meat which is juicier than breast. The meat was tender and flavorful. It didn't need the extra teriyaki sauce, but it punched the flavor up another notch. The mac salad was creamy and cooling; it was a great side to the chicken. I got the cucumber salad and it was also very tasty; I felt like I got the veg that I was craving.They only do takeout, so the atmosphere is okay, but not great. I wouldn't call it a bargain, but the portions were generous.I'll be back to try some other menu items.

Just an important note. This place is to go only. Not a restaurant. Drove there and didn't realize this till we got there.

Choosing spicy on top of an already spicy dish = very spicy. Takeout only. Has decent parking. Food is great if you like sweet meats; I don't so my rating probably isn't super fair. Mac salad was interestingly sour, like maybe there's sour cream in it; didn't hate it but can't say I loved it either. Really liked the order display board that says which orders are done and which are being prepared.

Solid place for some karage style chicken. As someone with Celiac, I appreciate when I can eat come fried chicken and a teriyaki/sesame style sauce.Love to get the plate combos with two sides. They have a rotating selection of sides that are always great - cucumbers and beets have been my favorite so far.I've tried a few other things here, but the chicken is the best thing we've had so far.

Definitely a 5-star restaurant! I only wish it had seating because having to smell that deliciousness as I drive home is torture! (But the best kind!)One thing I love about Grillbird is that they switch up their menu quite often; while that means some favs come and go (bye bye Ebi Shrimp Balls ) it also means chances to find new favs as well (OMG please keep the braised beef around 4-EV-AH!!)All the takeout is also in 100% compostable containers, which is delightful, and they're generous portions so we enjoy leftovers the next day. My personal favorites are the fried cauliflower, mochiko chicken, and the golden beets - and the new braised beef is absolute perfection: silky, melt-in-your-mouth in every bite, with a subtle sweet smokiness that compliments the rest of the food flavors. Srsly Grillbird - keep this one on permanent rotation!!And a shout out to everyone behind the counter too - service is always friendly and prompt!

Today was my first time trying this establishment.Pros:Online ordering process is simple and easy, I got a text that my food was ready 10 minutes before the quoted time when I ordered.Food was flavorful and serving size was generous. I especially liked the chicken katsu, chicken was tender and crispy. Cons: While the flavor of the chicken teriyaki was great, the pieces of meat I got were very fatty and some were burned, making the chicken dry. I ordered the mac salad based on all the reviews and found it to have too much mayonnaise for my liking.The chili garlic noodles were the most disappointing as they were extremely dry and difficult to swallow and also a bit spicier than I would have liked.The biggest issue is the parking lot, which is difficult to maneuver in, especially when it's full at lunchtime.It's nice having a teriyaki place so close to where I live so even with the few issues in today's meal, I'll definitely give them another shot.

I saw this place on Kenji's list and knew I had to try it. I can't believe I didn't come here sooner! I ordered the teriyaki chicken with Mac salad and cucumber salad. It comes with a side of sauce which is a little on the sweet side but still very good. The food is amazing and the portion size is also very good. This place is a small take out joint. I was worried at first that the food wouldn't taste as good by the time I got home but happy that wasn't the case. I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!
