The congee had a good consistency. The ribs didn't have a lot of flavor, but everything else was pretty standard. Not a lot of dim sum selections but the menu has most of the classics.Seating is quite limited: 2 large tables that can fit 6 people and multiple small tables for parties of 2-4. There was no wait when I came at 2pm on a Sunday. The congee and vegetables were served quickly but the wait for dim sum was slightly longer.

Right in the center of Chinatown, you'll find this hidden gem of a restaurant. Similar to other restaurants that I have reviewed, this restaurant offers dim sum all day long. Along with some very traditional Cantonese style dishes, one being the imperial pork, which is a delicious crispy tangy mountain of pork chops. This place will not win any awards for the decor, as it is rather dated, however it makes it all back up in the food. We ordered a handful of traditional dim sum dishes such as the steamed rice and chicken in a banana, leaf, shrimp, dumplings, pork dumplings, and a few other very traditional Cantonese Tim some dishes. Additionally, we also ordered the house special fried rice (Yang Chow Chow Fun) chicken, and bamboo shoots, and the imperial park.Everything was served, fast, hot and delicious. One of the best judges I can ever tell you is my son, who loved everything. (This place is Child Approved!) The service was great, and additionally, while overhearing other tables guests, who are not familiar with Chinese, we're not having any issues, communicating with the servicer, as servers were taking their orders, and were able to briefly describe what certain dishes were. Additionally, the menus are in English, and there are pictures, so there is no problems with just pointing at certain dishes if you're not familiar with the name of it.

Bakery review:We came here for some Asian desserts. Saw a line for the dim sum restaurant; going to have to check that out next time! The service was quick and friendly at the bakery. We picked a few items to try. The moon cake with red beans inside was delicious. The yellow cat cake was amazing; super creamy, smooth, and not too sweet. I am not a fan of too sweet and love that most Asian desserts are not too sweet. Another favorite is the egg custard tart; so flakey and creamy. I would've ordered more but we just had a big lunch. Overall, a decent little bakery in the middle of Chinatown.

My family and I were hungry after touring around Boston. We decided to try Great Taste Bakery restaurant from Boston Chinatown. It did not disappointment. We ordered four dishes for a family of four and cleaned all four plates with nothing left. We would come back. They have dim sum and regular dishes. We got the regular dishes. Reasonable prices!

Wanted to switch it up from my usual dimsum go-to in Boston, Winsor Dim Sum Cafe, so stopped by here after a friend raved about it. With the blustery weather that Boston had been getting, their congee really hit the spot. I also enjoyed their har gow (shrimp dumplings) and their taro steamed ribs, but their xiao long bao tasted straight out of a package...They also messed up our order when they gave us charsiu rice rolls instead of our preferred shrimp rolls. This was pretty dry even when smothered in sauce. The restaurant was packed on a Sunday morning but the food came out quick and table turnover was quite quick.

I've been here a few times for dim sum with friends, and it has consistently been a good place. The restaurant part is on the left and the seating is quite limited relative to other dim sum giants in Chinatown, and there is no cart service. However, each item is done quite well, and we keep coming back. The standards are done well, and I feel confident enough to order my dim sum favorites here - the pork spare ribs with black bean sauce, flat rice noodles, and more. The black horse item to order is the crispy tofu - the roughly $12 one on the non-dimsum menu. Worth the "splurge" - it is delightfully crispy without much batter, and seasoned lightly with chili and salt. Quite possibly the best tofu dish I've ever had, very addicting.

This past Friday, we went to Chinatown in Boston for lunch. There were mixed reviews with the restaurants with rolling carts. There were 2 with dimsum close to each other, so we initially walked by. Great Taste vs. Winsor Dimsum Cafe.Winsor had stairs, which would be a little more challenging for Dad, so we decided on Great Taste. By the time we got back, there was a line waiting. It's a small place and next door was the bakery. Everything is made to order. The menu is more limited compared to San Antonio. I think Dad prefers the dimsum at @goldenwoksatx. It was good to try and good to see Chinatown. Makes us appreciate what we have in San Antonio.

A small place for dim sum but good food, reasonable price. No cart rolling around but what you ordered from dim sum menu, they would bring them to your table. Half is for restaurant and other half is for bakery. We wanted to go to another dim sum restaurant but it was closed. So we stopped here instead of. A bit confused at first of how to order, but we soon figured it out. Shrimp dumpling was big and yummy, we also ordered shrimp & egg with rice, molten eggs buns, ribs congee & crabmeat seaweed rolls. Everything hit the spot and I wish I had more rooms as I wanted to try some other dishes.
